Just looked at the track list for the leaked Brand New demo album. So glad that Fork and Knife is on there. It's a top 3 Brand New song for me and was previously unreleased.
Brand New evolved as well as any recent band I can remember. Every album is different, and each is outstanding in its own way.
Been getting into Baroness. Really like Yellow/Green album too. Also been on a big White Reaper kick. Kind of remind me of the Misfits which is one of my all time favorite bands.
She is the new Gwen Stefani. I love her. Why don't you take hyor nnon punk shit to th enon opunk thread and go jack off tjere/ In the meantime, her is sonme real punk to atone foryu your fuc king hippie sins. And the coup de toists, can you imagine how awesome it would be to have been at a Bad Brains show in the early 80s? I was alive, but I was way too young to travel. It would have been awesome!
This past weekend saw Strung Out play Exile in Oblivion in its entirety. Just an incredible album that was the pinnacle of where their sound was going from Element of Sonic Defiance and American Paradox. Then they played a few Suburban and Twisted classics after. The new Face to Face is out today, released on Fat. NOFX autobiography comes out April 12
The Tigers Jaw self-titled might be one of my top five favorite albums of all time. Top to bottom, it's just insanely good. The first five tracks (The Sun, Plane vs Tank vs Submarine, I Saw Water, Chemicals, Between Your Band and the Other Band) is as good as it gets.
So fellas The Falcon has released another album...finally after three years. Yay For those that aren't aware The Falcon is a punk supergroup with Lawrence Arms frontman Brendan Kelly. The Lawrence Arms Neil Hennessey. Alkaline Trios Dan Andriano, and The Loved Ones Dave Hause. Basically they are awesome.
When I was younger I had a weird thing for Tim Armstrong in the same way. However now it's Brendan Kelly. His Wandering Birds albums are so good as well.
What's everyone listening to lately? A ton of Modern Baseball and Somos for me. Also, just got into The Hotelier and Tiny Moving Parts.
New albums by the Descendents and Bouncing Souls out today. Really liking the Descendents one, Karl Alvarez probably just below Matt Freeman for punk bass players.
If you like Ska give The Interrupters a listen for sure. Direct Hit! New album was mucho enjoyable for me as well. Also tickets procured for Menzingers and Bayside in Dallas 9/15. Yay!
JUST SO U FOOTBALL FANS KNOW AS OF THIS MORNING STEVE SPURRIER IS VERY GLAD TO BE PART OF THE uf football team . now what ?
Really liking the new NOFX album. The song about Tony Sly is heartbreaking but amazing. Fat Mike amazingly was still out of his mind on drugs and booze during the recording. Got sober right after.
hitting obsessive levels of love with the first half of the new Joyce Manor LP my current rankings right now stand: 1. Never Hungover Again - A 2. Joyce Manor - A 3. Cody - A- 4. Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired - B+ But some movement potentially in there with the new record
as the weather turns for the better, I always spend a good amount of time with Pennywise's Full Circle. that album is perfect.
All-time great album for the genre. Pretty sure that was actually the first punk album I ever owned and the reason why I started listening to punk, which eventually led me into all the music that I presently listen to. So pretty monumental album in my life.
I prefer life on a plate, but they're both good albums. Fat wreck chords and epitaph just had so many awesome albums in the late 90's early 2000's.
Have y'all watched the Fat Wreck Chords documentary? If you liked all the fat bands like Strung out, lagwagon, propaghandi, No Use, etc from the early to mid 90s....it's an enjoyable 90 minutes
I just made a playlist after reading this blog post. http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/the_top_10_best_fat_wreck_chords_albums_of_all_time
The reverse for me, punk led to metal and then about a decade later into post rock. I basically did a bell curve on the rock spectrum.
