If you look at the statement he just says they've scrubbed those during the voting. Some league guy was on the radio last week and said that's why they only release the votes once a week. I read it as that's how many they've erased total but the numbers released this past Monday are still valid.
Big Slick event was today/this weekend. Riggle, Rudd, Sudeikis, Stonestreet, etc are in attendance. Apparently Standing room only left for tonight/Sunday, tomorrow is sold out.
How crazy is it that people are buzzing about our boys in blue in mid june. Usually by now I'm in self loathing mode hoping that the score update on my phone represents some positive for our team. Probably not the best timing given the loss today but this is the team I've hoped to have for the past 29 seasons.
hello yes, i would like to be at the k instead of being a short drive from shitty target field with shitty canadians.
Sucks we have to use Holland. Assuming we hold on, we were 28-14 and then lost 9 of 11 if memory serves. Will be back up to 14 games over .500 now.
This Thursday's series opener against Minnesota, with no work on Friday, is going to be a fun game. If anyone is going to be there post itt, and I will buy you a beer at rivals srs.
Wade Davis went from walking the first two batters in the 8th and 3-0 on the third batter to being out of the inning within 5 pitches.
Agreed. Overall command seems to be back (and even hit 95 with a fastball today). It seems like he's throwing that slower 12-6 curve/slider/splider/whothefuckknows more often. Always nice when a top 5 closer in the MLB adds another weapon to the arsenal.
So would you guys trade for a Hamels/Cueto/whoever by the deadline? We do have reinforcements in the minors but in my opinion they are all long shots to be counted on (Zimmer, Manaea, a soon to return from 2 tommy johns Medlen who was once very good). I honestly don't know. I don't think we are the type of organization that can go all in and realistically have a goal of being competitive every single year.
I don't know if I would make that move. Zimmer and Manaea seem to be hurt every other month so I'm not sure they could headline a package to get one of those guys. I feel like Mondesi would have to be a part of any trade involving Cueto or Hamels. Cueto's recent arm troubles scare me though. If we can get all our starters healthy then I think we stand pat. Another setback or two and they might be forced into trading for an arm.
Yes we need an ace for a playoff run but I'm not a fan of a rent a player. We won't keep multiple $20 mill contracts on the books so the only way we'll be successful is by continually pumping out prospects and getting max value out of them on their minor league deals. We just have to hope Medlin is amazing, Duffy and Ventura get back to their primes, and Volquez keeps doing what he's doing. Also I saw were on pace for 99 wins. In 77 we won 102 and have never hit the century mark besides that one year.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the rent a player either. Look at what the A's did last year.. they mortgaged their future to get that tool Samardzija and gave up Addison Russell. A trip to a WC game is all they had to show for it.
He started off slow last year also and it took about a month for him to get to form. This year he was out for a month so it's taking him a bit longer to get there. I think by the end of the year he'll be back to his dominate self.
Hey guys, remember during 2nd half and the playoff run last year, everyone was all like, "Yeah, this is great, good for those guys, but they've been amazingly lucky with injuries, everything has to go perfectly for them to succeed"? Now we've had guys dropping from the lineup and rotation like Ron Jeremy's pants all year and we're 16 games over .500 and 5.5 games up in the division near the break.
Yeah, but that wouldn't have happened last year because of the lack of bullpen depth. That's the only thing covering up the rotation right now. Plus, there is some actual offense this year. If we would have had these injuries/suspensions last year it would have been ugly.
Hmm, maybe I'm just an optimist, but I liked the Morales and Rios signings a lot. I couldn't wait to send Billy packing.
Hoping for rebounds from career bad years, a guy that was retired for a year because he sucked balls (Blanton), one who hadn't pitched in three years because of injury (Madson), and another nobody in the major leagues wanted is leading the team in starting era. Hitting gold on 5-5 doesn't ever happen in baseball. You can see where the pessimism came from. I guess Rios hasn't panned out yet but who knows what would of happened if he hadn't broken his hand. The only one of the signings that was praised was the guy that had two tommy johns.
trade infante now, bring up the kid and we automatically have the best team in baseball (probably had it before but you know)
anything possible. it doesnt really matter, yes he has been better of late but his defense is just awful and he will go back to regular omar real soon.
