Does anyone know if we bought the extended warranty with this Cueto? I think it might be defective.... Spoiler I don't give a shit if he has a 50 era as long as he's lights out game 1 of the alds and every 4th game after that
It seems kinda funny the way Yost is managing lately. It's like he's pushing random buttons and saying, "I wonder if I can lose this way". And no matter what he does he hardly ever does.
Get Jonny back to his game and dat Dominican THREEpublic, those 3 do their thing, Duffy as a 4 who goes 5 then we bring in one of histories best bullpens to back him up, man we really could have a stew going.
That at bat that sent Miggy packing was a beaut. Just painted the fucking corners and hung stuff way off the edges to try and get him to chase. Legit. Fuck it. Let's give almonte the 4 spot and run into the playoffs with an all Dominican rotation.
Slow day at work so I was looking around at some stats. Votto has a .576 OBP since the All Star Break. That is just insane Meanwhile, our leadoff hitter has a .255 OBP since the Break. This needs to be addressed. He isn't a leadoff guy, he swings at the first pitch of every game and has zero patience. Either Cain or Gordo needs to be hitting leadoff followed by Zobrist - Cain/Gordo - Hoz - Morales Also, Infante has a .199 OBP since the Break
Leave Cain where he is. The painfully obvious candidate to lead off in the Royals' lineup is Gordon, and only Gordon. But Yost won't do it.
This is true. Because, because... conventional wisdom says you need speed in the leadoff spot! (said in a snarky sarcastic tone) So if the Mendoza line is .200 for batting average, does this mean we can call the .200 line for OBP the Infante line?
Rany on Grantland. Too long to copy and paste. http://grantland.com/features/2015-mlb-kansas-city-royals-dayton-moore-division-champion/
Just watched highlights from last night. Does any broadcaster have better transitions than Ryan Lafebvre? He's amazing. "....his father was from Norway." [Morales blasts a homer] "And that...was from CUBA!" lol
This is such a great article. Dayton Moore was the butt of most GM jokes for years, especially after the Shields trade. I've heard very few, if any non-Royals people say 'we were wrong'.
Royals manager Ned Yost said Thursday that he'll consider hitting Alex Gordon (groin) leadoff if he shows that his legs can handle the strain. Gordon just returned from a Grade 2 groin strain this week, so the Royals are easing him back into things. Alcides Escobar will be the regular leadoff hitter for the time being. Praise Jesus
I actually thought he was alright last year but all the shit over the Gordo play has gotten in his head. He's been dog shit this year.
Getting a runner gunned down by several feet for out #3 in a 6-2 game with another runner on 2nd is woof.
I don't think I have the time or patience to try and explain to them that he would have been out by 5 steps.
Don't worry, people have been on the job since the game, on the radio, etc. I chalk it up to frustration at being 90 feet away from tying Game 7 of the World Series, and move on.
I did chuckle at Morales fouling off a dozen pitches hard and whipping the crowd into a frenzy before dribbling one out about 3 feet from the plate.
Unfortunately yes. Baseball writers have to fill the offseason with something ludicrous and this took the cake.
Hopefully this isn't the patented "let's go HAM in the first and not score again until the 8th" game that are all too familiar
The gods weren't going to let us win that one. Crushed about a dozen balls directly to Twins defenders. And then the play at home plate.
The whole team seems to go into a hitting lull at the same time so it would be nice to get it out of the way now and be on the up swing going into October.
