I kinda see what you are saying, but there was at least 20 dudes in there all swinging swords and other weapons of death. Smart move to live another day IMO.
I'm busting up thinking of the rage if Ramsay ends up being the ptwp and rapes both of the stark girls as his sister wives while he sits the iron throne.
Ned took it back to Dayne's widow didn't he? So it should be at Starfall unless someone took it. Could be completely wrong about this though.
That's kind of the Jaime we got in the books though he couldn't really fight anymore so he had to slow down and become more Tywin like in his thoughts and actions.
Why? It's okay to be bothered by scenes in a show you like. And even Game of Thrones doesn't go around killing infants around every corner. I'm not out there starting a twitter campaign to boycott the show or anything. Just observed that the scene bothered me as a dad of a youngin' and I personally could have done without it because of that. It's not like it ruined the episode or degraded it though. Sheesh, didn't mean to start a whole tangent about it.
So why should they stop building on that or pursuing that angle? It's not like he's going just go "oh golly gee people think I'm mean I should be nice now so people can see another side of me." Fuck that, Ramsay is a homicidal maniac, that is his character. The show does a great job of making people hate Ramsay and he's one of the few characters (probably only) that the show does better than the books. No need to change anything about him or how they portray him.
Because you're implying that it shouldn't have been included, when it absolutely should have, because that's the kind of show this is.
It just wasn't good storytelling. Oh, shit, Ramsey's a fucking monster? Cool. That was established in Season 3.
Yeah didn't like the baby part. Not going to bitch about it but it's hard for me to watch it. It was established that he was a monster by that point but I don't really care.
What? I said it didn't need to linger as long as it did. Bring them into the hounds' pen, open the doors, whistle, cut away. Jesus people, relax. It was a minor point I agreed with someone about.
I don't understand the below, it's basically saying that Bran is in line with the Others/ The Great Other: "At the Wall, when gazing into the fires, Melisandre sees a wooden face, corpse white, a thousand red eyes, and a boy with a wolf's head beside him. She thinks to herself that they must be the Great Other's champions, as King Stannis is hers. [3] Further evidence in the text ties the Last Greenseer, Brynden Rivers, the Old Gods, and Bran Stark to the theme of darkness that draws The Great Other into opposition with R'hllor. The vision of Melisandre pointing towards Bloodraven and Bran as champions of The Great Other is corroborated in this exchange: “ There he sat, listening to the hoarse whispers of his teacher. 'Never fear the darkness, Bran.' The lord's words were accompanied by a faint rustling of wood and leaf, a slight twisting of his head. "The strongest trees are rooted in the dark places of the earth. Darkness will be your cloak, your shield, your mother's milk. Darkness will make you strong." [4]
Also, "Night's King" is referred to as the leader of the White Walkers. I've also heard of The Great Other referred to as the leader of the white walkers. Does that make them one and the same. So Night's King=Great Other?
I did appreciate the Red Wedding symmetry with Roose being betrayed and stabbed at a joyous occasion. I do think it was slightly out of character for him to have not seen that coming though.
There's a theory that Bran will end up fighting on the side of the Others, which corresponds with the theory that the others are not necessarily evil. If you haven't read this it's pretty interesting: http://gameofthronesandnorsemythology.blogspot.com/
I think at some point you start to see diminishing returns on "here's some gratuitous violence to show how psycho Ramsey is" type scenes. Not saying they need to be taken out, but it's starting to feel a little redundant
Probably my favorite theory. Doubt it ends up being true but it's a hell of a thought exercise and an interesting perspective switch.
And this established him as an even bigger monster than he was in previous seasons. The fact that you're so befuddled by it proves how impactful the storytelling is.
Random thing that made me chuckle - Dany drops this ring in a random place in a huge field with pretty long grass. Later Jorah coincidentally stops right on top of it, glances down, and finds it. Not a GOT thing specifically as shit like that happens in all kinds of media, but the absurdity amused me.
Yeah plus the melted ram was there. Still would have probably taken hours of combing the grass to find that shit but whatever. I just notice dumb things in movies and TV a lot
Well it was right in the center of the whirlwind pattern in the grass made by the khalasar when they circled her. Not exactly a random place in relation to the entire field, but yeah.
I think it kinda of did. In previous seasons he did seem to have this need/want to be the desire of his dads affection, as if he wanted a solid relationship with him. This episode showed that he had 0 humanity him, which before I thought maybe he had the smallest drop possible.
I can't believe how big of a deal people are making over this Ramsey scene. it was perfectly in line with the development of his character and not the first time we saw a baby killed/murdered on the show.
for some reason it took me two watches to hear " throw them in the cells, where they belong" when they were talking about olly and alliser the first time i heard " throw them to the south, where they belong" and i was pretty enraged that they would let them go like that.
This wait is killing me; I've been waiting 13 years for answer to this question even though we're all fairly sure what the answer is.
Jaime has to bang Brienne at some point too. GRRM didn't write all that dialogue for nothin. I would like to see Theon end up Lord Commander, he is already gelded so he would be perfect.
Could you imagine being the Night's King and banging that ice cold vag? You would think that'd be an instant boner killer but guess it wasn't.
