In the books he is taking the horn they found at the fist of the first men and perhaps some king's blood (Aemon Targaryen) to Marwyn the Mage. He also brings a first hand perspective to what's going on the Sallera/Alleras the Sphinx and the faceless man pretending to be Pate in Oldtown.
I'll tell you guys one thing, the less Sam and ugly companion of Sam we get in the series, the fucking better. Isn't where he's going rumored to be where they discovered how to defeat dragons also? I think that's ultimately going to be the end game there for him and it'll result in a dragon getting killed and Keef will have to triple screen that episode or his lady will be fit to be tied.
I'm interested to see how Martin uses the different horns, because the show hasn't made them seem all that important
is that the name of the actress playing Gilly? I looked at the preview for next week on my cable and it said, "Hannah meets Sam's family" and I was so confused. I guess that's where the mistake came from.
There's a theory that the maesters conspired to kill the dragons and that they have knowledge of how to kill them. That's what people think Jaqan is doing there.
I want to do one, but I'm worried that when I do TWoW still won't be out when I'm done. Or worse, it comes out in the middle of my reread and my OCD doesn't allow me to read it until I finish the reread.
I said I would wait and do a re-read once there is an official date for WoW to be released, then I can use that as a deadline to finish. I did that with DwD and it worked well.
The only two Direwolves I care for are ghost and summer. Ghost because he's the one Dire Wolf we spend significant time with, and summer because in the book, the scene where she got her name was just so fucking good. Seeing Summer die sucked. I don't even like dogs
I never said Hannah was ugly, but the character she plays on the show is unattractive and her acting skills are rather poor.
Please don't get him started. We're going to have to read about how wonderful Jamie is and how terrible Littlefinger's acting skills are for the 19 millionth time.
I feel Ghost is probably the easy answer for me, but I always felt that as aggressive as Shaggydog was/is he would be pretty awesome to read about him fucking shit up.
I did, not a girlfriend but wife. I said I was pissed that Summer died, I didn't get emotional about that. The whole sequence of showing Hodor going full retard and him being killed got my eyes glossy.
Im not attached to any of the show direwolves except Ghost if book Summer gets got itll probobly kick me straight in the feels
I almost referenced this many times because this movie created a bond between you and the animal as opposed to 5 minutes of screen time of a minor wolf so far
oddly the episode didn't register much of an emotional impact on me, thought the scene was actually a little silly but that's probably because it was spoiled before I could watch it so I had prepared
Thoros of Beer I did not read your post on this page, but the individual I employ to screen the posts in this thread told me that it was not very nice. So, I don't appreciate your attitude.
Welp, started my reread last night. The whole time I was reading the prologue, my mind kept zooming forward to future chapters in future books and it filled me with a sense of dread
Starting a reread w/o knowing when #6 comes out would give me the dread you're feeling reading that. As much as I want to read them again, I would hate to do so only for the next book not to come out for a few more years. I want to go into that remembering much more.
Any tips for a first time read through? Just started Book 1 two days ago. Want to have all the knowledge the book folks do. Up to date on the show.
