Seemed like a reach with Brooks only graded as a 2nd-3rd rounder and Patrick Queen still on the board. Queen is two years younger and seemed like the better prospect. However, hope I’m wrong and Brooks is a stud
My issue is that Brooks is a box linebacker and we already have issues with LB pass coverage. In a league where teams like AZ and SF are set up to kill you underneath, I'm not sure what our strategy is with this pick.
also I was pretty skeptical of the Jordyn Brooks pick, but he has definitely exceeded expectations. thank you #Texas Tech Red Raiders
They’ve gone off the deep end to figure out talent. The early years was like fishing with dynamite. And then the rest of the league caught up. The last couple of years has been suspect. That Penny pick was woof. I know the staff thinks highly of him, but good lord.
Eskridge is a fun pick. Wanted Quinn Meinerz but maybe we can get him later if we trade back into the 4th or something bc we have all this draft capital.
Awful news: “Sources close to Doornink’s family told KIRO 7 he is in critical condition in a Yakima hospital with COVID-19. They said Doornink is vaccinated, but he also suffers from an autoimmune disorder.” https://www.kiro7.com/news/local/fo...zed-with-covid-19/S2QTCLVGINEJ3EF6N3WQTZLONU/
Also, Chris Carson retiring due to his neck injury. Feel fucking awful for him. Hopefully it’s more to ensure his well-being and not that the rest of his life is going to be dictated by his injury.
Voulas or Portage Bay Cafe for breakfast and then Cloudburst for first beers and then Sluggers for your institutional dive bar and then Joes for a Seattle dog and thennnnnn Watch Baker
I’m happy the rookies are doing well, but can we fucking please lose games and bask in some draft capital a bit?
I’ve been pretty meh on our recent drafts but the 22 class felt like the first one where they didn’t have to think about what Russ wanted. Loved it from the jump
I made a bet that Seattle would only win 3 games this year. So glad to lose that $100. With my golf buddy that is a huge Raider fan.
Was interesting to hear Pete Carroll compare him to Troy Polamalu: ""Devon Witherspoon, he's a rare player," Carroll said. "Since the years we've been here, we haven't seen a guy like this. We have not drafted corners high just because we haven't come across a guy of this makeup. It's his athletic ability, it's his speed, it's his playmaking, it's his mentality. "I haven't come across a guy like this in a long time. The last time I recognized this kind of makeup was back at USC when we had a guy that you guys may know. Troy Polamalu was a guy who had an extraordinary way about the way he played the game, and I saw this connection between what Devon does and how he looks at the game and how he approaches it that just knocked me out. I'm just really excited about this. He's physical, he's tough, he's got an attitude, he's going to bring it, he's going to fit right in with our guys."
