Hey man, I just want revenge for when I was 5 years old and thinking the the Washington Redskins just HAD to mean Washington state.
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8831714 Spoiler Nate Silver predicts Seahawks/Pats in the Super Bowl
CB Richard Sherman, S Earl Thomas, C Max Unger, and RB Marshawn Lynchwere all named to the AP NFL All-Pro First Team. The All-Pro Team is certainly more prestigous than the Pro Bowl, so it's great to see four Seahawks represented as the best players in the NFL at their position. Sherman, in particular, gets the last laugh, after being snubbed from the Pro Bowl roster (he's an alternate). Being named All-Pro while not even making the Pro Bowl roster is moderately rare; San Francisco's NaVorro Bowman found himself in this position last year; and in talking toWindy City Gridiron editor Dane Noble about this, if you go further back with theChicago Bears, he threw out the following examples, for you NFL historians: Chris Harris 2nd team all pro in 2010, Mike Brown 1st team all pro in 2001, Richard Dent 2nd team all pro 1988, Steve McMichael 1st team all pro 1985, Devin Hester 2nd team all pro 2011, Wally Chambers 2nd team all pro 1974, Mike Ditka 2nd team all pro 1966, Bill George 1st team all pro 1963. Johnny Morris 1st team all pro 1964, Sid Luckman 1st team all pro 1943, 1944, 1947; none of the mentioned made a Pro Bowl roster. Sander Philipse of BucsNation notes that this happened with Ronde Barber in '02 (second-team All-Pro), Simeon Rice in '96, & Lee Roy Selmon in '78 (second team All-Pro). Sherman reacted well to the Pro Bowl snub, saying several weeks ago that, "It don't mean nothing, I bet you I'll be on the first-team All-Pro. That means more to me." Sherman was the leading vote getter at cornerback. So, he was right. As for the other Seahawks, it's great to see Max Unger recognized the best center in the game, and also makes John Schneider and Pete Carroll look that much smarter for inking him to a long-term deal over this past offseason. Earl Thomas was the leading vote getter at safety, and I think we'll start to see Earl become more of a household name nationally over the next couple of years. Earl's just getting started, as far as I'm concerned. Marshawn Lynch finished a distant 2nd to Minnesota's Adrian Peterson (unanimous selection), but it's great to see Lynch honored as the 2nd best back in the NFL. OT Russell Okung and KR Leon Washington were not named to the All-Pro team but are starters in the Pro Bowl. FIRST TEAM OFFENSE: Quarterback - Peyton Manning, Denver. I'm glad the Broncos lost because fuck nate silver for saying the AFC game would be a defacto championship, but on the other hand I would be happy with just making the super bowl.
I was so bananas when we scored ... then I remembered the Miami game and if Miami can score with no time left then, well, so can that whore-lover Tony G.
Yea as soon as we scored I said "We are two pass plays from losing this game". Low and behold.... Happy we fought back that way though. I kinda knew coming into these playoffs that it wasn't our year. This team needs to develop a killer instinct on the road. We really need a new weapon for Russell. He is going to he special. Giacomini needs to be replaced, and we need an interior pass rush, and this offseason showed we might need to sign someone for backup DE. They attacked Irvin with the run. If we can hold on to our core of young players, we should make some aggressive moves this offseason to fill needs. If next season isn't our season then I don't know when it will be.
Have to replace Clemons in the draft. Would be happy going DE and DT in rounds 1/2. Multiple bad play calls today and Lynch must have been hurt. Tough game, great season.
Turbin looked pretty good today at least. We need something aggressive in the draft or FA in terms of WR though. I think we have solidified ourselves as an attractive team for some big names now....which could be huge.
I'm by no means saying he's in the Brady/Manning/Rodgers category but dude spreads the ball around. I'd love to grab an elite WR but I'm more concerned with pass rush right now
God I fucking hate Atlanta now. There is no gayer QB than Matt Ryan. Well, there are a lot of gayer QBs, but he is still a faggot.
I wonder if we'll be able to get another pick for Flynn. Green Bay's director of operations was just named the new Chiefs GM. Since I live in KC, it's all I hear about. Obviously nobody is really too excited about potentially wasting the 1st overall on Geno Smith. Maybe there is a connection between Flynn and the new GM.
At the very least, Zach Miller has shown we don't need to be targeting a TE. He's always had the catch ability, we just generally don't target him.
DT DE WR T G (depending on Moffitt) OLB, hell, even CB since Thurmond can't seem to stay healthy and Trufant is as old as my grandpa are all going to need to be addressed first and foremost this offseason, whether through FA or draft.
Sherman was still cracking my shit up last night Other than him tripping on that deep touchdown (would have been a diff story if it was Thomas back there instead of Chancellor) he played like an animal.
Would never have believed I was going to be really let down over a loss in the playoffs coming into this year. As far as draft, second round looks to be filled with good receivers.
My buddy who is manager at the Chieftain gets to have lunch Thursday with Walter Jones and John Clayton since his bar got voted top 10 sports bar.
http://www.hawkblogger.com/2013/01/seahawks-off-season-priorities-early.html Great read. Glad I'm not the only one who wants another receiving TE.
Don't really care. Think he was more a product of PC than anything else. Would rather lose Bradley than Bevell.
Curious to know how much of an impact this guy is http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2013/01/jets_gm_search_seahawks_vp_of.html
