    We kind of are

If we have basically any more players leave in bad standing we start hitting penalties iirc. And we can't take any grad transfers for like 2 more years.

If you have been following the suspension situation at SC re: the five players in trouble for bb gun fuckery:

-Announced yesterday two guys are off team (SG Jamal Gregory and F Eric Cobb, both freshmen who got decent minutes this season)
-Three guys are still suspended but not off team, sounds like they'll be back for next year (Jr. PG Marcus Stroman, Fr. F Chris Silva, Fr. SG Temarcus Blanton)

Hate to lose Gregory and Cobb but glad we aren't losing all five

It'll be dependent on whether Kingsley comes back or not. If he does, and we get a grad transfer that I've heard as a possibility, we should be pretty damn good. Aaron Ross of Texas Tech is who we've heard as a possibility, but he hasn't announced his intentions to be a grad transfer. He was a commit of ours for 3 years, but tore his ACL twice late in his HS career and we went separate ways and he ended up at Tech and with Hannahs

If Kingsley declares and stays in the draft, we'll be hurting badly down low.

Jaylen Barford and Daryl Macon are guys coming in that I think are both guys that can average in double figures (#1 and #3 JUCO players in the country). Macon is a lot like Anthlon Bell, but has a better off the dribble game and is much better around the rim. Barford is a terror is a big physical guard that excels in the open floor. Add those two with Hannahs and our backcourt is pretty loaded.

Losing Whitt isn't ideal, but we're replacing him with some pretty capable talent.

The expectation is being a tourney lock, sort of like last year with the Portis/Qualls team.

Jake Scott your boy Terez Hall has already got to the top of the DC @ SAM LB. For now at least.

Nice to have the tiniest bit of info come out of spring camp. Besides official injury lists, that's like the only nugget.

I'm pretty confident he will, if he even declares. He'd be dumb not to at least test the waters though.

Also a decent chance we pursue a grad transfer or try to land another big to finish out the 2016 class. Our staff is so secretive with info we really have no idea what is going on unless it comes from the kid

Starting from what we know to...

Center - might be my maroon glasses, but Tyler Davis is on track to be a SEC POY candidate in 2017 and a national POY candidate in 2018. If he continues to improve his conditioning (made massive gains from HS to FR year), he'll be a monster.

That's about it. The rest are question marks of varying degrees

Shooting Guard - Admon Gilder flashed quite a bit of potential in 20 MPG as a freshman. Quick and strong, doesn't have great size, but should be a solid starting 2 guard next year with 2nd/3rd team ALL-SEC potential. Might have to play some at the 1 if the PG situation doesn't get settled.

Small forward - DJ Hogg, another guy that showed some potential as a freshman. Highly rated shooter out of HS, and he has a perfect looking stroke, but his %s were disappointing. I think more playing time and offseason S&C will do wonders for his game and allow him to assert himself more. He made ALL-SEC freshman, but probably didn't deserve it. He has a decent shot at 13-14 PPG next year.

Power Forward - Tonny Trocha-Morelos looked like an actual Division 1 basketball player this year, after a clueless freshman year. Still a 6-10 beanpole, but he's got great range for a big guy. Needs to get a lot stronger, for rim protection/rebounding/finishing in the paint. Our S&C is well respected, so hopefully he can continue to work on Tonny.

Point Guard - biggest question mark on team. Will Gilder be forced to the 1? Will we get another grad transfer? Hopefully incoming freshman JJ Caldwell is ready to go Day 1. He's on the small side, and is towards the back end of Top 100 recruits, but he has the perfect PG mentality.

    Bench

PF Tavario Miller is an undersized hustle guy with little basketball talent. Will continue to provide 10-15 mins off bench.

SG Kobie Eubanks only played in mop up time as a fish, but has a good stroke. Will probably be the first guard off bench, difficult to know how good he'll be playing against non-scrubs.

PF Robert Williams. Our other incoming fish, he's super athletic but pretty raw. Hopefully he can provide some rebounding and rim protection with an alley oop or two mixed in.

Still need 2 more signees. Ideally, we get DeShawn Corprew out of NC (if KU doesn't have room) and PG William McDowell-White out of Australia (playing in the Nike Hoop Summit for the world team, choosing between us and Arizona St). The front court will still be a bit thin, but the backcourt would be at full strength.

    Coaching

Kennedy has been very underwhelming at times, underperforming in Years 1-4. But he delivered our first conference championship in over 30 years, and just our 3rd Sweet 16 appearance ever. Losing Stansbury and Keller hurts our bench coaching and doubly our recruiting, so everyone is anxious about their replacements. Hopefully the offense doesn't revert back to our old inefficient approach.

    Overall

With pretty much everyone on the roster expected to take on a much larger role next year and replacing our 2 best assistants, it's difficult to know where we'll be come March. But Tyler is the perfect centerpiece to build around and the raw talent on campus is trending up.

Reasonable expectations are 2nd-4th in conference, and a 6-11 seed in the NCAAT.

Really like Caldwell's film, going to be a fun one to watch. I'll be interested to see how big of a leash he is given by Kennedy

I'll give Kennedy credit, he makes up for his coaching shortcomings by hiring some great recruiters. I'm jealous af

I admittedly have no clue but I thought Maryland hired Turgeon in part because he'd deal with the AAA coaches, something Gary Williams wouldn't do?

Turgeon was a huge bitch about the Texas AAU scene. At some point, he decided to change his approach and he did hire some AAU guy right away at Maryland. I don't know if he learned from his mistakes at A&M or if Maryland/UA forced it on him as a condition of his hire.

And I'm sure it's still not his preference, but he was smart enough to know he needed to change.

So Bama is looking at bringing Pelphrey in as an assistant. I know he's a terrible head coach, but what do y'all think about him being down the chain?

Didn't know if he was a good recruiter or not.

Seems to be the consensus from what I've read. Florida people seem to really like him from his time as an assistant, but he's just not a good head coach.

He's got to be better than the AAU coach who couldn't land us any recruits that we just got rid of. We really just need a good recruiter. Bob Simon is more of the Xs and Os guy on staff.

Here's a rundown of his classes here. Some talent, but you better hope y'all can keep whoever he signs in line.

-Our 2007 class was our WOAT. He didn't have much time to develop any relationships though.
-The 2008 class was highly rated, but they were literally all shitheads. Rotnei Clarke was a selfish faggot (but left in good academic standing and transferred to Butler), Courtney Fortson was indefinitely suspended while he went to rehab for his cocaine addiction before finally turning pro because he couldn't stay eligible, Jason Henry had such a severe learning disability he had to have his tests read to him and he'd give verbal answers that were written for him. My girlfriend at the time was one of his tutors. I don't even want to know how he qualified. He originally signed with Cincy before they couldn't get him qualified. Montrell McDonald had been kicked off 4 teams before we signed him, and he didn't make it a full semester before we kicked him off.
-2009 class we had Marshawn Powell who was pretty good, but a bit of a headcase
-2010 class we signed Ky Madden. Rickey Scott was fairly highly rated as well, but he was pure trash.

I think Pelphrey played a big role in Kevaughn Allen going to Florida. Allen had a handler that Anderson wouldn't mess with

Pelphrey alright in my book. Good recruiter just wouldn't want him as the face of my program. He acted like a jackass a few times on the bench at UF and Billy D had to check him.

All things considered, really good asst. hire in a conference he knows well.
