Trends are positive, but it feels a bit premature to proclaim Frank "is kind of a beast at building programs". If you're talking about building a program, a solid run of NCAAT appearances would be the minimum requirement imo, and Frank hasn't even done it once at USC. I recognize he wasn't starting from a great spot, but I've seen other coaches overcome similar/worse.
I got over excited. I'm gonna take a few plays off (Jk I'll prob continue to post throughout the afternoon bc I'm at work)
We return Moses Kingsley who averaged like 16ppg and 9 RPG last season, and is taking part in the Nike Basketball Academy in La which consists of the top 20 collegiate players We return Dusty Hannahs who averaged just over 16ppg and is one of the better 3 point shooters in the country We add Jaylen Barford who was the #1 composite JUCO player in the country, Daryl Macon who I think was #4, and Arlando Cook who was #6. Transfer Dustin Thomas from Colorado will play quite a bit too. Kentucky will obviously be elite, but I think we have the potential to be a 25+ win team similar to the Portis/Qualls team from 2014.
I went through that 247 composite top 300 list and all I learned was holy fuck Harvard pulls some basketball recruits. They have 6 guys on this list http://247sports.com/Season/2016-Basketball/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=highschool
Wtf is going on up there? If the Celtics have taught me anything it's you can't pull basketball players to Boston
Have you never heard of Tommy Amaker? He's a good recruiter, and the former coach at Seton Hall and Michigan prior to coaching at Harvard. He was an assistant under Coack K as well. I really liked Chris Egi when he was at Montverde, a basketball powerhouse.
Kinda hard to do much when your first two seasons you're dealing with the NCAA investigation and a two year postseason ban The program took years to recover from that, and he helped bring them out of the dumpster into an average team.
I'm talking about landing two of the top 5 players in this years class. Wendell Carter and Mohamed Bamba. Thats just a smidge better than anything he has ever signed, especially at fucking Harvard.
Yeah, let's wait and see until those two actually commit and sign. Duke/Kentucky will be tough to beat
Yeah I get that. But even year 5 and 6, he still seemed to be average at best recruiting. He definitely appears to have a good thing going at Harvard, though.
Bruce Feldman @BruceFeldmanCFB 7m7 minutes ago The NCAA has tacked on another year of probation to #Mizzou's basketball program's self-imposed penalties that will last until Aug, 2017.
I'll take it. All the restrictions will be gone by the time we have a new coach. Thankfully. Just get this year over with ASAP.
Good god Auburn writers are just the worst Stick to pretending every football recruit has Auburn as their #1. don't need these dumbasses pretending to know what they're doing with basketball recruits too and putting out misinformation
Bryan Fischer @BryanDFischer 48s49 seconds ago SEC/Big 12 challenge (in hoops) schedule, including Kansas at Kentucky and UF at Oklahoma.
I was just looking over last year's results and realized how much the conference lost from last year. Seems crazy compared to your average year. I could see Arkansas or Florida getting second this year and still being bubble teams.
that school and Our Savior New American in Long Island are 2 of the biggest shams Ive ever seen in person, no business being accredited. I think I read QEA got a new facility but this used to be the school

Solid. When I lived in Memphis, I called the school/academy that Skal Labissierre's guardian set up when he left the private HS he was at. The phone number for the school went directly to his guardian Gerald Hamilton's personal cell phone.
Saw a mod on rivals post SEC has the most rivals 150 recruits committed than any other conference. That's impressive, especially considering UK hasn't taken a commitment yet. A few schools finally made some major coaching upgrades and it's paying off...recruiting the past 2 years has been pretty dang strong across the conference. After a long hiatus I think conference-wide quality bball may be back in pretty short order
It's nice that Anderson is finally recruiting at a high level. We're going to be really good for the next 3-4 years. That indoor practice facility seems to be paying off with recruits, it was embarrassing that we didn't have one for so long. Bama and Auburn both recruiting well also
State has been killing it as well. I think UF is doing decent and A&M has been strong the last two years. A little shocked Barnes hasn't done better at UT, but maybe they close better this year.
He has missed on every top prospect on his board. Isaiah Stokes is the only big name left. I dont think we wants to deal with AAU, handlers, or whatever. .500 SEC ball is the best we can hope for in the next few years, unless Barnes turns in to the best coach em up
I'm happy with our class, but we still need to add 1 one for 2017. Preferably Garrison Brooks or Ikey Obiagu. I think we're recruiting MJ Walker too, but he doesn't mention us much. We missed on Herb Jones but Im not sure how much he would've played for us with what we return + what we're bringing in. I'll be interested to see if bama can pull one of the five stars they were confident in not long ago(Petty, Sexton, Brown), but I guess keeping Reese and Jones instate was a step in the right direction for them. I was surprised they didn't recruit Jamal Johnson from Spain Park harder
