All our games are going to be shootouts. We have no defense. Howland is killing it recruiting so I'm excited for our future but I think this year is going to be an NIT year. If we make the ncaa it will be a hell of a year.
I know it hasnt been developed or anything, but you guys have like 6 4 stars on scholarship. Its not that bad talent-wise.
Eh, thats not really true at all. We have: Hale Taylor Justin Coleman Riley Norris was a 4 star on scout and espn
You are missing a rape in Auburn. Refs have bent over the Auburn Tiger team at midcourt and full penetration is in progress.
It's going to be fun to watch all these new bama and auburn bball fans that think football refereeing is bad. It's nothing compared to hoops.
Newsflash Auburn basketball fans, college basketball officiating is horriffic. Might as well get used to it.
I was just about to say I'm more upset with how much college basketball has been ruined than any of the complaints about football related calls. This is just atrocious.
Kinda pissed Florida switched to the up tempo and press style compounded with the new officiating rules. Half court teams would seem to benefit now
How the most reconginized conference and have some of the worst officials in both football and basketball is a little mind blowing to me. I know it sucks across the board for every conference but I just don't understand how the premier conference can't find even decent officiating.
fuck you ain't nothing new about my watching of Auburn basketball. These rules aren't even brand new either, the officiating was still a mother fucker today.
Coming from the B12, I thought it couldn't get worse. In football, you know youre not going to get holding calls, and if you breath on the WR - it's going to be PI. They were terrible calls and non calls, but you knew what to expect, and were somewhat consistent. In basketball if you drew certain refs, you knew you were in for bad night. Some just completely bend over for certain teams like Kansas, and you knew that's how it's going to go. So far in the SEC - it's just bad all the way around and very inconsistent. Especially in basketball. They go from letting everything go calling everything on a whim. Just my anecdotal take.
Nobody said we are losing because of officiating, and I spent a lot of time in here bitching about it, I would remember.
AU played okay, but Canty going cold in the second half didn't help. Just don't have the depth yet. That will come next year.
I got a laugh out of the first possession of the second half when he doinked a wide open layup while everyone was walking the other way after he was called for traveling.
4. 2 guys that were consensus top 100. Jimmie Taylor is still raw but, if he stays out of foul trouble, and that's a big if, he's a pretty good player. Don't have any idea how Justin Coleman was as highly rated as he was. He's simply way too small to be effective at this level. Shannon Hale was borderline top 100 and a 4*, and he actually has the ability to be a good player, no doubt, but he's mentally and physically weak. Riley Norris is the other, and he can be ok, but not sure he's overly talented either. Our main problem continues to be that we really don't have anyone playing this year who can consistently create his own shot. Very offensively challenged. Nick King and the incoming freshman will hopefully change that.
Oh it's bad. And it's been bad for a long time. For as long as I remember watching college basketball in the SEC the refs have always been complete jokes. Football is bad but as bad as they are, the basketball is even worse. Some games they call something a foul, next game it's not a foul. One possession it's a foul, next it isn't. They love blowing the whistles too, it's like they anticipate there being a foul so they just blow the whistle before the foul even happens. They kill the flow of games and pace of play. It's been addressed in the officiating thread but we really need to start paying refs a salary and train them. No more old guys who just enjoy watching the game.
Am I retarded or did Karl Hess get banned from officiating games last year by the SEC? God he was awful One down, about 8 to go
Yes Bert you're correct. ACC, SEC, and AAC all told him to fuck off http://mobile.sportingnews.com/arti...lationship-with-basketball-referee-karl-hess?
2.5 games in, this team is infinitely more likable than last year's team. I keep on having to remind myself they need to suck to rid ourselves of Anderson.
It's rained all day. Ive only left my place to let my dog out. I appreciate your concern, but it looks like I'll be able to avoid them all this year.
Pretty rare to see both teams score the same amount of points in each half. 24 for Alabama 40 for Dayton That C.A.G. offense is going to take some time to fix
Malik Monk committed to Kentucky. Bert has spent the past 3 years laughing at anyone that would even suggest he's wouldnt go to Ark
