I think we could talk 100 people into it here. There is that many that post on here, right? Either way, if not we can do multiple accounts. One thing I do know is that every vote we collectively go for would have to be based on a MB vote that precludes it, just so we are always on the same page.
trying to catch the dec 28th game vs aston villa with a couple friends of mine, then spending a couple days in london and then seeing other parts of europe (one friend requested paris, i requested berlin, etc)
I posted this in the Everton thread, but I'm deciding between: 12/26 Birmingham 12/28 @West Ham United 1/1 @ Stoke City OR 1/1 @Stoke City 1/5 Tottenham Hotspur So I'll be in England at the same time. Any way your buddies would buy in with us?
for sure. I would request we get a private board made for those involved. How mind fucked would TMB be if this happened
Yeah, it would without a doubt have to go private based and only users who bought in. We tend to have some decent education levels here, so voting someone in to a position like accountant and getting them a gig in England really isn't out of the realm of possibility with voting power.
Isn't all the debt with those teams a concern for us. I think we need to find teams that aren't in huge debt
I like Chan's idea to have a new board where we can post new threads on possible new teams to purchase. I also think Och is right and it should be private. Other then that great job. If someone wants help looking for teams send me a PM and I will assist in the search.
Also teams in debt are not bad tbqh. Depending on the situation you may be able to purchase a team for less if you agree to pay a portion of the dept off. So say a team is worth 300K but owes the bank 200k You make a offer to pay the bank 150k to cover the debt and then send 100k to the team and deal is complete. If they are desperate enough they will sell.
Bankz gets it. Debt is far from the worst thing in the world. Obviously debt is part of the equation, but there are alot of other things that go into it when you're trying to figure the value of these teams.
It's called the FA Community Charter, they talk about it a few times so it exist for sure. I'm trying to find it
even thinking of buying ebbsfleet would be foolish now. they arent going to sell any time soon and until we can prove there would be financial gain for all members who own a piece then its pointless. there are way better ways for the board to spend 2k
I'll buy you an account if you delete that post and start forming unity amongst the soccer board to take it over.
I don't wanna go back thru the site to discuss this. I'd rather have a private board set up so i can hit The Mainboard at the top and go there. But if that was the route we went, i'd just
http://www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=575&catid=60&Itemid=402 I got dibs.
trying to hostilely take over ebbsfleet is not a good idea at all. that'll just rally the existing owners into unity and maintaining their majority share of the club.
its not practical. one, i'm sure those in charge would have information on new owners. they'd be able to tell if, all of a sudden, $3000 from entirely new owner were invested in the group. And then these strangers al run for staff positions and are strong competitors to win? Think of the planning it took would take for a board to accomplish purchasing a team. Take the initial planning we've discussed here, and then add about 18 months of work to deal with finding an appropriate team to buy, pooling funds, organizing operations, and getting everything running smoothly. If we were to accomplish this, do you think we'd willingly give up ownership without consent to a group of ~100 strangers? do you think we wouldn't notice a faction trying to buy us out?
Let this be your guide: http://www.footballeconomy.com/category/football-leagues/uk-leagues/english-leagues/non-league
Random question but has this board been moving fast because of the WC? Or will there be more action once the Euro clubs start playing again? I didn't post over here previous to the WC.
The board had pretty good traffic during the club season. It will definitely die off a bit once the WC is over and CFB season starts but there are quite a few of us who are still around eagerly anticipating late August.
we're discussing purchasing a low level soccer club. currently in the research phase Bankz, I say we do england as it's a deep, deep system, and there wouldn't be a language barrier. but thats just my two cents
I think we're waiting to see if any teams become financially unstable once the season begins. I can't see a lower level teams fans being upset if new money is coming in....again, just my thought on it
I was just joking. It all fun and games because their is less than a .001% chance the Soccer Board buys a club unless clubs can be had for a few thousand.
the most important thing to ask right now is how good is everyone here at football manager are you guys able to brush off the cheeky reporter easily or do you break a sweat
