She would have resented you greatly if she had to pick up any of the financial burden even for a little bit
Another layer to all of this is that I recently bought a new car (Friday). She wasn't too positive about that whole deal. It was along the lines of "I'm happy that you are happy". Which I found to be kind of odd. But it wasn't something I was going to start an argument over. I don't think that she's stupid when it comes to fiances. But I do believe that she's of the mindset of many other females in my age range. The whole "You need to prove how much you care about me by changing your whole lifestyle" type. By no means do I think she would have actually been 100% okay with paying for everything for 2-3 mos. That's just something to say just to be talking.
Don't be mean, just be short and direct. Say no to everything she wants back, cut off contact til she inevitably starts trying to get you to come visit. Then say no again. It will be invaluable practice for the next time you shack up with a money grubber.
she probably thinks you should have saved that money to use while looking for a new job in her city. You'll find someone better. Keep your head up.
Oh I know that my new car has something to do with this. But it's my money that I've been saving for the last eight years. We were only dating for a year. It's crazy how entitled some people feel to other peoples money.
lol...it goes without saying that Iowa was never in my wheelhouse of places to live in my mid-20s. The people are a bit stale for my taste and it seems like every restaurant is trying to do some ridiculously bad creation of creole food (Putting a mix between mayo/chipotle salsa in the middle of crawfish etouffee should get you shot in my book). I also had my fair share of red flags on my last trip of there. We went to dinner with one of her classmates and her BF. Seemed like a pretty typical couple. But it was clear 20 minutes into the dinner that this would be a mix of twenty questions about S.Louisiana and are you planning to move up here. This chick is from the suburbs of Chicago and this guy grew up in Brooklyn (IDK how they met). Anyways, he clearly packed up all of his shit and is clinging on to this relationship imho. He's 28 or 29 and getting his degree in elementary education. In the hopes of becoming a music teacher. Currently working at a vinyl music shop in downtown Iowa City. I'm not one to shit on peoples hopes and dreams. But the more we drank that night. The more it was made clear that he wasn't doing anything worthwhile during his time at Brooklyn College. But back to your point, if only she would have picked UGA over Iowa....sigh
Girlfriend and her two roommates have been scrambling to move into a new house for the past couple weeks. The move has been planned for months. Then... Spoiler
I understand how literally anyone can get completely taken advantage of the older I get. Most people I know are extremely well educated but are completely incompetent at anything outside of their jobs. Don't read contracts, sign up for stupid loans, etc.
I was just reminded of one of my ex-GFs that said I shouldn't store my old laptop on its side because it wasn't "good for the computer to be on its side." I asked her why because it's a fucking dumbass statement, she got all defensive and said "because it isn't!!"
It's bad because all of the 0s and 1s on the hard drive can slide to one side and ruin your computer.
That Athens, Georgia is also a shit hole so using it as a preferrable destination seemed...a low aim. UW on the other hand...that's just splendid.
Yeah, I'm working a contract there on and off. It's a shit hole. I'm sure its fine if your doing ur undergrad but as an adult its lower tier.
Boulder, Tempe, Seattle, NYC, ft. Collins, SLC, L.A., San diego, nashville...these all seem like places with universities that I would wish my significant other to make us move to. Athens doesn't make my list but...
Lol at calling one of the best small college towns in the country a shithole. I fucking hate UGA and all associated with it and still love Athens.
I too would love for my significant other to make us move to cities where the cost of living is extremely high, especially for college students.
I mean its got pretty much everything going for it. Small town vibe legit downtown area, solid food options, quick drive to the mega city, Normal Town area's architecture is splendid, surrounded by plenty of outdoor day adventures and the ability to see SEC football. And my favorite part Fuck all you Dawgs though
Did you just compare fucking NY, Seattle, and Los Angeles to Athens, GA? How room temperature is your IQ?
