Great start to the season but we still have one less point through 4 than last season. Just hold on to everybody through Tuesday. I wonder who gets the first non-Ayew non-Gomis goal.
Think I'd put money on one of Shelvey, Gylfi or Ki to get that goal. Finally saw a lot of good from Gylfi. We all know eventually Shelvey scores a crazy one and Ki has just been consistent.
I know. It's a better performance so far this season. It just goes to show difficult it is going to be to better last year. It also highlights how far Swansea has come that we're all a little disappointed to only get 1 point on the road at Sunderland.
Mata has always been a classy guy and a quality player. If we had to give up a goal today, I'm glad he got it.
I'm surprised that this thread hasn't got more followers, with some of the Swans' results. Either way, I'll always know that you guys were the original and best.
Still happy today. After Giggs said they were looking towards this game during the summer and van Gaal said they were prepared for this game earlier this week (implying they were just caught off guard by the Swans last year) it makes it doubly nice.
enjoying watching your team this year. Didn't think you would be able to pull it off yesterday with Montero out.
I felt pretty comfortable that United would struggle to score, but yeah, I thought we'd have more trouble generating chances with Montero out.
Really wish we didn't already hit the first international break. However I'm fairly confident we will pick up where we left off against Watford.
This is all very premature but still nice. http://www.espnfc.com/club/swansea-...a-manchester-united-premier-league-garry-monk The but in there about Man U looking loke Swansea from a couple years ago is an observation I made to my United fan friend on Sunday. Possession without purpose is meaningless.
Yeah I'm not sure after 4 matches its time to say Swansea will break into the top 6. We've got a good side, and one that is better than the one that finished top 8 last but there is a long long way to go.
Dyer apparently moving to Leicester on loan. He had to ask for this move as I don't think Monk wanted to make a move before January there.
Tiendalli released. Stoke were rumored to be interested in Michu, but that doesn't look to have gone through.
Shame to see Dyer go, been a legend for the club for a long time, but can't blame him for wanting a move.
Yeah, I can't blame him for wanting more playing time, but he said just last week he was committed to the club and staying. The timing sucks, too as it leaves us short of competition or injury replacements at the position. I guess it's Emnes now until recalling recalling Barrow in January. I think Gorre is in The Hague for the whole season.
It sucks he was injured most of last season. Now he's just going to rot here until they work out an agreement to release him.
Michu turned down an offer to join Celtic. Decided it was best to just do nothing and keep collecting that check.
Welp. I guess we have a new target. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jonjo-shelvey-says-swansea-city-1002145 Jonjo Shelvey says Swansea City can qualify for the Champions League Spoiler Shelvey says the Swans are on a par with the big clubs and sees no reason the club can't take the ultimate next step in the Premier League Jonjo Shelvey has returned from international duty claiming Swansea City are good enough for their own European adventure – and even reckons they can challenge for the Champions League! Shelvey earned praise on his first start for England last week with a man of the match performance against San Marino, keeping his place for the Three Lions’ Wembley win over Switzerland where Wayne Rooney broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record. It came just a week after Shelvey had been part of the Swans side that downed Rooney’s United at the Liberty, a result that kept Swansea’s unbeaten start to the season going into the international break and underlining their ability to match – or better – last season’s eighth placed finish. Swansea narrowly missed out on a Europa League spot last term in the final fortnight of the season and while most Swansea stars have attempted to play down expectations, Shlevey has broken ranks to insist the club can be playing continental football next year. And, with a win at Watford on Saturday able to keep Garry Monk’s side in the top four, Shelvey has even suggested a push for an unlikely Champions League spot should not be out of the question. “I feel we can compete with the big clubs now, I feel we’re sort of on a par with them,” said Shelvey having starred in the 2-1 win over Louis van Gaal’s Old Trafford giants before the Premier League paused for Euro 2016 qualifying action. “We can go anywhere or have any team coming here and get a result against them. “I feel that outside the top four or five, we’re in that next bracket so it’s up to us to prove that we can push for the top four. “And I don’t see any reason why this club can’t play Champions League football with the manager that we’ve got and the work ethic that he instils during the week. “If we keep winning our home games and keep pushing on and keep flying I think we’ve got a great chance of finishing in the top four. “I think this club is set-up to play in Europe. “You’ve seen what we did to Chelsea. You could say ‘they only had 10 men’ but even with 11 I thought we gave a great account of ourselves. “And we also did that against a great Manchester United side.” Shelvey impressed again in England white after a superb start to the season in Swans colours, though did fade after an eye-catching opening before making way for Harry Kane who opened the England scoring before Rooney’s landmark 50th for his country. The midfielder was one of several Swans in action for their nationsover the past week, including Wales pair Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor who came close to sealing Euro 2016 qualification and Gylfi Sigurdsson who helped inspire Iceland to their first major finals. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski featured for Poland, rival Kristoffer Nordfeldt was on the bench for Sweden’s double-header while striker Eder came off the bench for Portugal to partner Cristiano Ronaldo in their last-gasp win over Albania. Ki Sung-Yueng and Andre Ayew also captained South Korea and Ghana in Asia and Africa respectively but Jefferson Montero did not feature in Ecuador’s win over Honduras, sidelined with the same groin problem that ruled him out of the Swansea win over United, though the Ecuadorian medical staff repeated Liberty insistence the injury is a minor one. Midfielder Jack Cork said: “Sometimes it’s nice to have the international break so you can reflect on your start and have a weekend off. For us it probably came at the wrong time because when you’re in form you don’t want the break. “But the international boys have had some crucial games for their countries, and it is a great period for them. “Jonjo was solid for England and really impressed, while Gylfi will be bouncing after helping Iceland qualify. “Ash and Tayls did really well and Wales are almost there too, so they will be really positive. “I think the international lads will come back feeling good and hopefully we can use that positivity in preparation for the game with Watford.”
Yeah. I think people saw the assist he had against ManU and may be overrating the role he's had in creating goals this year as a result. Don't get me wrong, I think he's been great, but it's mostly been Shelvey and Montero crating the opportunities for both Gonis and Ayew.
Some cable companies and direct tv have overflow channels for the other games. Otherwise, you have to download the live extra app.
