I'm not sure what's gonna happen with the senior team and all of the changes likely to come this summer. However the U21 team is beasting right now and plays Villa Monday in the playoff semi finals.
Yeah, I feel like we're going to get a big roster makeover this summer. Maybe some of the kids will be good enough to get some first team minutes.
Think there's a few that would certainly see some cup minutes. Kenji Gorre Stephen Kingsley Jay Fulton Those three have already made a debut but always seem to be ahead in development. Those that haven't made a debut to watch for would be imo. Botti Biabi Kyle Copp Joe Rodon
This is probably a good time to also mention that our U18s are unbeaten during the past two months and are eyeing a title in their development league. Nice to see the academy producing results.
I feel like this could have been a very different season if Fernandez was at all good at finishing all of those open headers he gets in the box on set pieces. Also, what happened with Ki? Why does he not play anymore?
Well I sure am glad we are safe and not playing a must win game. I'm just ready for this season to end, sort out the manager stuff for the long term. Sort out the takeover and then settle into a period where we learn who is staying, who is going and the direction the club will take next year.
Been hearing about it for a while but Leigh Dineens brother basically conformed today. Swansea will be leaving Adidas for Joma kits.
I'll wait to see what they come up with but I have never owned any clothing of theirs and have no idea if they are supposed to be any good. I think we're supposed to get a new sponsor this offseason as well.
I've heard they are shit but dont know much about them. Nick Dineen claims the design is awesome and that fans will love them as they were made with them in mind. Who knows what that truly means though. I do hope they continue with loose fit kits. #FatBoyProblems Here are a few clubs they do from the larger leagues, but not much representation. Sampdoria Empoli Palermo Toulouse Getafe Granada RCD Espanyol Partick Thistle St. Johnstone FC Rostov FC Ufa
I would assume that the new (soon to be) owners are involved in this decision. I am hoping they are smart enough to not make their first action as owners to be pissing of the loyal fans.
I heard about the switch back in Feb on the supporters trust Facebook. Guy claimed it was officially done back then. I am thinking this was done without American say but it will certainly present as they buy the club and get cheap and go to Joma. Haha not the best first impression to most fans
Didn't get to see it live but quite the performance today. Was great to see the guys continue to battle with the lead. Also was half expecting us to give up the second goal rather than get our third. Sitting 13th and officially safe.
Yeah, it was a good all around effort. Jeff got gassed in the second and I don't get why Naughton was the sub instead of Barrow but those oddball managerial decisions will be Watford's problem next season.
So the Joma kit is confirmed by the club. I guess I didn't realize it but Trundle was saying that we had been paying Adidas to supply us. Joma is of course paying a multi-million pound deal to be our kit supplier. Simple and smart business decision honestly. The only detail linked is that the home shirts will be white with black trim again.
Bummer. If City had won and United lost this week, they would have had Champions League locked up before coming to the Liberty. Now we're getting their best effort against a Swans team that is likely going to start a bunch of youngsters.
Before the takeover is finalized? That seems like a bad decision. Also, ugh. His lineup choices and substitutions were less than ideal.
I'm comfortable with giving him a chance to bring in his players and getting a chance to use his preferred tactics. I just hate his defensive subs to try and secure a game
Ki was fighting injuries I believe. Montero I agree but if he works with him this summer on defenseive responsibilities and hopefully utilize him more.
So if we just allowed Wilfred to change shirts and just stay in Wales with you all post game, think you could give us the 3? I'm pretty sure management would be totally OK with this.
I don't mind Fer. I kinda like him and what he brings. Looks like Guidolin wants him an a permanent, so you're not gonna be too satisfied with that haha. Reading about his press conference makes me more confident in Guidolin. He wants to use a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with wingers. So I think we will see much better and enjoyable attacking soccer next season. Transfers this year will make or break us. As every year we need to keep the Ayews, and Siggys and strengthen the back line and forwards.
Ki >>>> Fer He's a better a passer, a better defender, and better at timng his offensive involvement. I like Ayew, but I don't know where he plays. His best spot with this team is probably as that striker, but his size seems to be a problem there. If they sell him for enough to bring in some other pieces, it might not be a bad move. Keeping Gylfi is vital.
No Ki today because he was sent back to Korea to complete mandatory military service. Also, it wouldn't be the offseason without the Ash to Arsenal rumors starting. And apparently Leicester think they can act like they aren't league champs and getting champions league money by offering a measly £15 million for Gylfi.
Posted on the supporters trust fb....seems legit will know more by the reaction of Leigh Dineens brother in there or Lee Trundle as they have typically posted when discussing the kit as they have seen it. New kit is quality Grandad collar on the home, completely white. Away kit is turquoise and navy. Sponsor is a Korean betting firm. Out June 4th. ⚽️
Betting sponsors are so tacky. I also hope there are some black accents to the home kit. Navy and turquoise is a good combo.
Eder sold to Lille. The papers are pretty harsh calling him a flop. He didn't score, but he never really got the opportunity to settle in to the first team. I liked his hold up play better than Gomis. Also, he knew how to stay onside.
Yeah Eder definitely got no chance to succeed with us, I'd have been curious to see what he would have produced. Not a whole lot of news going or coming yet but it is still May. Curious what approach His takes this summer.
Looks like the sale may be final.....who knows but per sky http://www.skysports.com/football/n...163110m-takeover-by-american-investors-agreed
30-50 mil pounds invested in the stadium, training facilities and players.....hmm I guess we may be purchasing the Liberty.
The city was always trying to make sure the Ospreys could still play there. I wonder if there's still a negotiation that has to happen there.
The charm is gone, but at least it's Americans instead of a Russian oligarch. I can't fault the fan/owners for cashing in on their investment. Also, this new cash infusion is totally buying us a title.
I guess you never know with a club our size. Expansion has always been in the cards with stadium ownership but I wonder how many seats we can realistically add. We are still such a small team compared to many others so you never know how far it can go or how long and how many new fans can come about.
