He isn't. Also Fer is the guy on the yellow that isn't doing anything. Pull him and you can have a more traditional Swansea shape. I am starting to see why Ash may have wanted out this summer.
His midfield play has been terrible, but he can finish around the net. Sounds like the definition of a center forward
Weird match would love one more goal because i don't think we can hold on here. Also why isn't Amat being pulled for van der hoorn? These yellows all over the place are worrisome.
Shitty ref. Could have had 3 points but probably didn't deserve the 1. Still very real problems with this squad
I guess I'll just be happy with the point, wish we had held on of course but fuck if that isn't a much needed point.
threw you my in laws twc login in your pm's man. Hopefully we can all use the account and not get kicked off haha
Either just a coincidence or I got kicked off for too many logins...howver it let me refresh and pull it back up.
Weird lineup but the passing has been better. We have nobody that can take a corner or free kick with Gylfi on the bench.
I expect Man city to push forward more in the second half. Norfeldt with a good job defending the own goal. Just missed on a couple passes that could have created more chances. All in all, more offense from this defensive lineup than I expected tbph.
Continuing to see a lot of issues in all aspects of this team. Back line is constantly out of position, midfield cant seem to keep possession or put forwards in any type of attacking position. Wingers...meaning Montero and Barrow ahve done well at setting up opportunities with pace but we still lack tremendously in the final third. Borja was okay for his first run out, I think he can be solid for us but we really need to work on working through the midfield and better passing.
So do we blame Guidolin for his crazy tactics and experimental shit or do we blame Huw for not spending money we didn't have to bring more talent in? Are we worried about relegation yet? I'm not for some reason mainly I have faith in a few players sparking us but that back line has been atrocious.
I have an issue with his tactics and substitutions. He's taken a team that was known for its passing play and put them in unfamiliar positions where they don't know where their teammates will be. Dropping 9 guys deep after going 2 down to City was unforgivable too.
Do you sack him and bring in a Griggs or Zola? I mean what do either of those bring that's a guarantee. I'm torn as fuck. I just want him to work his Italian league magic and make us happy Swans again. Feels like forever ago that we were fighting for Europa again.
I don't know who you get. Rodgers and Martinez were both available this offseason and know how to win the Swansea way. We didn't get either of them. I'm bummed about the situation right now. I'm pretty much just looking for Gylfi to make some magic happen on his own at this point.
I think Gylfi is the main catalyst and I still have tons of faith in Borja as a goal scorer. The problem I think we've overlooked the past year and some change is the lack of good balls into our forwards. We've given them rarely a chance to make any impact.
Part of that is the unsettled formation and personnel. Garry was loyal to Bafe who spent more time offside than linking up with the midfield. Once he was canned, Bafe was out and Eder was sent on loan and we had no real CF. This season we haven't had our best wingers in the game together to provide that service. I don't know what formation we are trying to run half the time
Rough last 5 min or so of the half. Could have had a penalty. Nice pass by Gylfi to get Fernando open and a quality finish. Routledge is looking rough out there right now. He used to be the pacey winger type. He's clearly lost a step.
