Don't get a lot of chances to go after someone like Klopp. Especially without any other major clubs with vacancies
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ96 1m1 minute ago Benteke, Ings, Milner & Clyne are all being pursued, with emphasis on premier league quality. #lfc (Tony Barrett) Fucking seriously....
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ96 4m4 minutes ago Liverpool have bid £10 million for Clyne but it has been rejected. #lfc (Tony Barrett) Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ96 3m3 minutes ago Clyne would like the opportunity to speak to Liverpool if the improved bid is accepted. #lfc (Tony Barrett)
Anfield HQ@AnfieldHQ96 1m1 minute ago Christian Benteke has a £32.5 million release clause which Liverpool are expected to trigger. #lfc (Telegraph)
Even Sherwood is smarter than our transfer committee @HLNinEngeland: Sherwood on Benteke: "There’s no point going to a club where they don’t cross the ball". Liverpool 19th in the cross ranking.
Made a bid for Kovacic, I'm down Clyne would be okay (Not that Rodgers would properly use either of them)
I like Kovacic alot. Would love for that move to happen. Clyne I'm on board with just because of Glen Johnson. Anything is a huge upgrade right now. For play and salary.
I guess our plan is to play nothing but central/attacking midfielders. Brendan can run the 3-7-0 again that we saw at Stoke
I was more focused on the actual level of talent rather than position of need No way Brendan is gonna actually make a bid for a player with both Sure as hell beats Delph
I don't even know how a team goes into the transfer market without knowing what formation or system the coach is going to run. I'm guessing we'll go back to the 4-2-3-1 again to start next year but who the fuck knows. Moreno-Lovren-Skrtel-Clyne, Allen-Henderson, Lallana-Coutinho-Milner, Benteke. I think that's Brendan's dream starting 11 next year.
You are the most negative person ever. Just sit back relax and see how things pan out. You can complain after.
Liverpool turn heat up on Rodgers http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/sport/football/article1562755.ece Spoiler LIVERPOOL are exploring alternatives to Brendan Rodgers, adding to uncertainty about whether the manager will survive an end-of-season review. He is to be appraised on his performance during 2014-15 in a process led by Mike Gordon, the executive from Fenway Sports Group with most responsibility for day-to-day business at Anfield. Rodgers and Gordon have a good rapport and the manager remains appreciated by others in Liverpool’s hierarchy, but that has not stopped other options being explored. A process is under way of examining the availability and credentials of other candidates, such as Jurgen Klopp, whose reign at Borussia Dortmund ended last night after the German Cup final, which Dortmund lost 3-1 to Wolfsburg. Klopp has indicated he would consider the Liverpool job – despite initially saying he planned a sabbatical when his time at Dortmund was over. It is thought Rodgers still has a very significant chance of remaining in charge, provided he can satisfy FSG that a disappointing 2014-15 campaign – where Liverpool finished sixth in the Premier League and performed badly in Europe – was a blip. Inside the club, the expectation is Rodgers will still be manager when next season begins. Embarrassing defeats in Liverpool’s final two games, a 3-1 home loss to Crystal Palace and 6-1 humiliation at Stoke, have increased the pressure on Rodgers. However, Liverpool are pressing ahead with attempts to sign Christian Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner and Danny Ings – all targets favoured by Rodgers. Gordon is due to meet Rodgers, who is on holiday in Spain, in the next fortnight. An American, he is FSG’s second largest shareholder after John W Henry, sits on Liverpool’s board of directors, and spends significant periods in Merseyside. Rafael Benitez, whose name a number of supporters chanted during the 6-1 defeat at Stoke, will be unveiled as Real Madrid’s new manager on Wednesday. Klopp, who led Dortmund to two German titles and a Champions League final during seven years in charge, is favourite to be offered the job if Liverpool decide to make a change. More than just the manager’s position will be scrutinised in Gordon’s review, with changes considered in Liverpool’s medical department and recruitment structure.
Liverpool FC News @LivEchoLFC The ECHO understands John W Henry will not be travelling to Merseyside with Werner liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football But BBC is reporting that JWH will be making the trip... *The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday
He always fucks up the first part of the season so I expect him to be out around January. Problem is I think Klopp waits it out and takes Bayern when Pep leaves.
This guy is literally the only person saying this and has been consistent. His credibility is completely on the line Mike Jefferies@mikejefferiesL4 4m4 minutes ago Los Angeles, CA No time to be tweeting this morning. Do I still think BR will be sacked this week? Yes. Are FSG still talking to replacement(s)? Yep. #LFC
Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC 35m35 minutes ago @thisisanfield @Tony_The_Red JWH is not travelling. My apologies. Only Werner.
Wouldn't mind them taking that with Lovren's first 10 games only. Other than errors it would not be much different.
According to Anfield Wrap, Rodgers is staying and Ings and Milner are done deals. Reportedly Milner has been guaranteed first team football so who the fuck knows who Brendan is taking off the field for him.
Mike Jefferies @mikejefferiesL4 43m43 minutes ago If @_ChrisBascombe has actually said that, then he's misinformed. FSG have been talking to CA and JK. And one other. Matt @rawkemsockem @mikejefferiesL4 Mike, @_ChrisBascombe says the talks with Gordon started last week and FSG haven't spoken to other managers! #LFC
Jay Riley @Jay_78_ 2h2 hours ago People will still moan. But Ings, Milner & Clyne for under £20m would be a decent start to #LFC's summer transfer business if all 3 come off. I agree with Riley, but the problem is these are just more squad players. Not really addressing the quality striker or DM concern.
I would argue that RB is the 2nd biggest concern. I'm not so sure CDM will be a problem if we can put Can there regularly and hold on to Lucas.
Right the problem is that doesn't make our starting 11 that much stronger. Plus are we going to fall for another Southampton defender?
People have been screaming for us to sign Clyne. And he makes the starting 11 way better considering who we have been playing there.
That's true but that's partially because of who the manager is. Manquillo was fine as a right back in a back 4. If that's the formation we're going to play, we should be spending 15 mil on getting a right center back to play with Sakho
Yeah, Manquillo and Wisdom...unless Wisdom is moving to the Center. May mean Manquillo is going back to Atletico early.
Mostly RB under Rodgers, at Derby and for Alan Irvine at West Brom. Tony Pulis never played him much. He is probably best sited for RCB, but who knows under Rodgers.
