This is pretty exciting news. http://mondaynightbrewing.com/building-another-brewery-inside-city-limits/
That's a big win for SW BeltLine. My buddy who worked for the BL said they were trying to get a brewery there.
How is driving to GT football games? My dad is in town and is staying in Buckhead and is ok paying money on stubhub for good parking. Is it a pain in the pass in and out of there via Northside? I have no idea as Ive never driven to a game there.
Getting there isn't terrible because people come at different times so it's not jammed on the way in (based on going once so tifwiw). Getting out was a fucking nightmare when everyone is on the road at once
Ever had zaxby's? That's a solid lunch. There's also a Qdoba. Nothing but chains, but for $50/day, that may work in your favor...
Lunch options are chain city, but a few dinner spots that are consistent. South Main Kitchen - Decent Southern-inspired plates; other spots nearby I've heard are decent - Smokejack BBQ and Salt Factory Nahm - Amazing Thai made be the same woman pretty much every night Tara Humata - Mexican, and bar usually filled with margarita-fueled cougars Cafe Efendi - good Mediterranean. The Efendi Kabob is amazing.
Seems like a lot of people are upset at them trying to close that shelter. I dont see Peachtree Pine as helping the homeless or the city. They need to relocate the homeless population to a better building than that shithole. I'm sure we can find them something in Buckhead.
It's a tough spot because 2 things are true: 1. They have to go somewhere 2. If you keep them where they are now connecting midtown and downtown will be next to impossible
I'm probably not the world's most compassionate person, but it seems like there should not be an issue with finding a place for a homeless shelter that is both accessible to the homeless and not located on key development real estate.
The problem is that everyone thinks their neighborhood is key real estate when it comes to dumping hundreds of homeless people there. I'm certainly guilty of thinking "they should have a place to go... that's not anywhere near my house"
The Dallas airport is a complete shit hole vs Atlanta. Fucking tgi Fridays only place to at in this bitch.
most of em suck compared to ours Been thru a few diff airports the past week with shitty amenities (not 3rd world)
I travel basically weekly for work and just want to say fuck any airport that does that bullshit 30 min of free wifi.
was in Tampa's last week and that place is a joke. best smaller airport I have been in recently is Richmond.
Through many travels I've come to realize that Atlanta is the best. It's not pretty it does a hell of a job considering it handles more passengers than any airport in the world. DFW is the fucking worst. LAX sucks. Denver is badass but terrible at efficiency.
my condo is to your left but why would you take the connector this time of day. Use Marta if youre going downtown.
Literally makes me irate. I have seen 25ish airports this year and maybe 3 of them offer free wifi. When someone is bitching about the Atlanta airport I'm usually just like "Yeah! It sucks to have 10 min security lines, free wifi, world class restaurants, and my bag sitting in baggage claim when I arrive."
7 Elevens are awesome, but they shouldn't be in a fucking airport, Dallas. And fuck your TGI Fridays.
I'm not leaving to drive down the connector from Perimeter for another half hour....and I'm stopping at Costco first.
KATL is one of the most efficient airports in the world, in part because it has to be, but it's also well designed with 5 parallel runways, the centrally located concourses, dual entry points on each end, connection to mass transit and appropriately staffed with all amenities you need. I've also spoke to several pilots who've commented on the simplicity of the various approaches, departures, ground taxiing etc. Atlanta, Hartsfield, Jackson, Delta and whoever else contributed did well.
Exactly why its bullshit the white ppl in the burbs are holding back the region by not wanting to raise the funds to improve our infrastructure. 9th biggest city in the country, transit infrastructure of a metro half our size. Today probably wasnt even that bad of a day. Imagine it with weather, a sporting event, etc. You might have had better luck taking 285 either direction. MARTA goes close to where you were located, and dumps you out directly into the Airport. Obviously you had rental car, etc. I take the train to airport no matter what usually, then made the lazy mistake of taking Uber on Monday and the entire connector was shut down for paving or something. But yea, traffic sucks here. Its why so many people are moving back to areas close to city that were fled after the civil rights act. Go Canes Saturday.
