yea he's raking in that cash tho they had their swim shorts for like $30 and a bunch of new PCM/ATL specific Tees for $25, all I bothered getting. just a very location. That development is going to live up to the hype minus the outrageous residential prices.
http://www.tonetoatl.com/2015/07/attention-music-fans-smiths-olde-bar.html so smiths might be closing... also this: "Interestingly, in my walk of the property, it seems as though the corporate headquarters of Fox Bros Bar-B-Q, along with "BlackHole Records" and "Nolen/Reeves Music Incorporated" are located at 1574B, above the alterations shop. It's worth noting that Dan Nolen and Mike Reeves are listed as CFO and CEO respectively of Smith's Olde Bar, LLC."
Need some opinions for tomorrow night's date. I got reservations at St. Cecilia, Cooks & Soldiers, and The Optimist because I've been wanting to try all three but, alas, I must narrow it down to one. Help me.
$30 is substantially less than what is on their website. Do you see the ones you got? http://onwardreserve.com/clothing/swimwear Hopefully your aside regarding PCM comes to fruition
Guys, if Smith's closes, I'm going to be a Bammer without a country. I guess I could always go to The Ivy
Well you can always go to 5 Paces or if that isn't your cup of tea then I bet their is something in Cobb County.
Optimist is awesome- chef is from my hometown but I would recommend St. Cecilia. It's a little more pricey iirc though. Sincerely, Leonard- who does not live in ATL, but likes cunty food
Of course Leonard is going to recommend the place in Buckhead. This guy texted me literally last week baffled because he found out I live in Midtown
Baffled isn't quite accurate...I knew you were a :aero: but I thought it was too long of a work commute for you
Random notes from Monday's City Hall meeting... - finalizing hotel deal adjacent to the new Falcons stadium (I recall press on this but google turned up nothing) - crime way up, mostly murders... 52/54 of recent murders are "crime on crime" - new direct flights to Istanbul is a strategy to increase business activity with Atlanta - by far the fastest growing non-Euro countries to invest in Atlanta are Brazil and Japan
I gathered it to mean that both parties were committing or had committed a crime around the time of the murder. As an example, someone pulled a gun, then someone else pulled a gun and shot them in response. Or, someone stole a car and got shot. Hell, I don't know.
saw some japanese consulate roll up 30 deep at international terminal that nonstop to Sao Paolo has to be clutch
our company just merged with another one who owns a ton of land/operations in Brazil - my boss is flying down next week. that miles game ridiculous
The Mead guy I work with was basically telling be it was a perfect fit from a regional footprint, balance sheet, and strategic growth perspective. He called it a good six months out without any legitimate inside information...though I don't know how impressive that prediction is to be honest.
KSM tonight. Superica was 2 hour wait and we got there at like 7:45 so passed on that this time. Will plan better next time. Gu's was really good and started there but then went to Freds. The pimento cheese club sandwich may have been a top 5 ever sandwich for me. Sooooo good. Garlic fries were excellent too. Love the thicker cut. Then Jeni's which only had like 7 or 8 people in front of us and was typical Jeni's. Overall really liked how not crowded the food stalls were. Even though the place is slammed overall it never felt crowded.
So with my job it looks like in a couple of months I'm going to have the option of moving to Nashville or Atlanta/Buckhead. From what I've read so far, I think I would like Nashville more, however I really don't know much about either. My dynamic is I only know one person (more of an acquaintance) in Nashville and one of my very good friends, who I would live with, lives in Atlanta. I know moving to a new city you'll meet people and what not, but with my job I'll literally meet no-one I would want to hangout with, so I would be relying on meeting people completely solo if I lived in Nashville. I'm out going, but not exactly the type of person to make new friends in a public environment like a gym. With that said, I am still going to look into both as if I were going to live there. Where are some good places to live for a young 23 year old single guy in Atlanta/buckhead? Some places my friend threw at me were: Peachtree Hills, Allure, Westminster, and Gramercy. All look pretty expensive, but from what he said are in really good areas. What areas do the younger crowds hangout at in general? Any general info is welcome, because I've only been to Atlanta once (will be there for work in a few weeks) and am just now looking into it.
What reasons make you say you would like Nashville more? Where in atl would your office be? At your age you can't really go wrong with the places you listed. Depending on where your office is, I think most ITT would recommend being closer to the belt line.
Also, I just moved to Allure. Right now I don't have service in my room due to insulation shit (I assume). I have to buy a network booster but I love everything else about it. It's at least worth looking at.
Quick recommendation for Banjo cold brew coffee. They are in Decatur. They serve their bottles at freds in KSM but also saw them at a farmers market today. Really tasty stuff if you see them.
I work for a home remodeling company that does mostly rental properties. At first I was like half superintendent in the field, half finance/office shit. Now work has really picked up and I'm needed totally in the office. When I say office though, there are literally 3-4 people that go in and out of the office during the day, with me being the one their the majority of the time. Essentially my job can be done anywhere since I oversee all our operations in Raleigh, Charlotte, Nashville and soon to be Atlanta. Due to this and me wanting to live somewhere else because I have lived in Raleigh my entire life, I pitched the idea of me living in another market since where I live really has no bearing on my job. My bosses essentially told me that would work fine/like the idea. All this is to say I will essentially be working from home 85% of the time and won't even have an office to go to, just houses to go to when I'm needed which will change weekly/monthly. So I'm just looking for the best overall area to live.
At 23, go Gramercy if you need to be in Buckhead. You'll meet the most people and its walking distance from the Buckhead bars. The tenants at Gramercy are largely fresh out of college and under 26. And you can go play rec ball at the huge church down the street. This is one of the perfect instances to live in Buckhead. ***edit, just saw that you can live anywhere. Look at Gramercy, see if you like the neighborhood. Also look intown from Midtown West, Midtown, and then Edgewood through Decatur to find the best fit for your personality and interestes.
I found that the best fit for my personality and interests (read: wallet) was to live in cheap-ass Tucker.
I see what you did there. It's a step in the door, I'll be better equipped in a year to pick and choose.
Starting October 5th, so a lot of time to kill. Learning my way around, discovered how awesome LaVista is, straight shot to Peachtree, takes 20-25 to get to school (haven't tried it at rush hour of course).
