Their trapezoid windows age well. Would make memorial so much better if they could widen it at 20 and get the stop lights on the itp side timed better. Just feels like too many cross streets plus the off ramps backing things up too far.
Came down for an engagement party tonight. Ate Fox Brothers for lunch and then went to Ikea. Best meal I've had at Fox Brothers. Ribs were spot fucking on. Now killing time at Atkins Park Tavern in Smyrna. Used to come here quite a bit when my good friends lived down here.
Inman Park fest was indeed lit. By far the largest neighborhood fest I've been to here. Also, finally got my hands on a Loss Cat painting.
Went to an engagement party tonight and Heirloom BBQ was catered. That brisket was amazing. And that mac and cheese, . BBQ twice in a day.
My cousin took a video of Peachtree Battle yesterday, that storm on Saturday night shredded the Peachtree Battle/Moore's Mill/West Paces area. Since I can't/don't know how to post a video, here's a screen shot that doesn't really help. Spoiler Also, if you had to work in effing Peachtree City/Tyrone, for commuting purposes, what's the closest ITP neighborhood with bars and restaurants and at least some walkability? Candler Park?
Grant Park would be best I would think. My BIL lives there and works in Fayetteville and says its not bad at all.
The talent at Bartaco on the Westside yesterday was unreal. I've noticed a lot of hot girls on the Westside these days. My assumption is all the brand new apartment buildings and new restaurants is raising the bar over there.
That sounded right, but went ahead and googled places in all of the below neighborhood and this is what I got.... Edgewood - 30 mins Glenwood Park - 31 Grant Park - 32 East Atlanta Village - 35 Inman Park - 36 Candler Park - 38 Midtown - 38 Highlands - 38 Decatur - 45 Buckhead - 48 Basically, anything under 40 is where I'd look if I end up working in PTC. I don't read this thread a whole lot, but do any of those significantly stand out from the others? I know y'all like Inman quite a bit.
Why do you say that? I honestly don't know the personality of the place. However, I've lived all over the US and never felt out of place. Probably felt most at home in Seattle/Cleveland/Chicago of the cities I've lived in.
I'm not one, but I can do hipster, fav bar in Seattle was pretty hipster... I just live in Buckhead, because it's convenient to work, have friends here, and my folks are here. I don't live in Buckhead because I consider it my scene, it's a convenience play and not as bad as y'all make it out to be imv. I also thought Inman was pretty hipster, no?
Went to Eleanor's this weekend, which is the speakeasy/hidden bar thing in the back of muss and turner's. It is hidden by a fake refrigerator door. I had never been before, and was only about 50% confident I wasn't going to open an actual fridge and look like an idiot in front of a date, but it worked out and is a good spot if yall are in that area. Same food options as muss and turner's but some different drinks.
Yea I like it but not good for hosting big groups. Went to the one in buckhead in the back of the bbq restaurant and really liked it too.
What are a couple of good brunch places (that take reservations) in Buckhead? Parents in town and they are staying there so has to be in Buckhead.
Went to Buttermilk Kitchen a few month ago. Brunch was good, but they don't take reservations. I got some sort of Lamb Egg Scramble. It was awesome.
Is it good for brunch? She actually made a reservation there already but was asking for other suggestions too. I figured there was better.
dammit. i'm trying to recommend others but was hoping it was actually a worthy brunch and i just didnt know.
You could try Linton Hopkin's new place (Linton's) in the Botanical Gardens. Heard their brunch is pretty legit.
Also, an RFP went out to a wide array of firms for downtown Peachtree St. Something about livening the area up and making it a 24 hour spot. I hope that eventually happens.
I think it's a subscription article, but this was on skyscraperpage- I look forward to what DT becomes and possibly living there one day. http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2016/05/03/a-new-urban-design-for-downtowns-peachtree-street
If they want downtown to thrive they are going to have to address the substantial homeless population and their various encampments. Walking to lunch on Peachtree yesterday and some random homeless dude told us he was going to kill our families for what white people did to them. We didn't even break stride, it's just incredibly common that weird shit like that happens.

Put a Publix for residential. And continue the model of putting local brand restaurants or chefs down there. Id live downtown, but I dont find it as practically liveable as midtown. I love the Poplar district.
aren't they either redoing a current shelter and closing another? with the amount of money being poured into downtown and memorial drive someone will figure out what to do
I am learning that I love lameduck Governors in red states. Its never too late to do the right thing. Breh is polishing up his legacy. Smalldo
