JJ not pleased with Zeke http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...boys-ezekiel-elliott-pot-store-visit-not-good
That whole story is insanely overblown to me. Who gives a shit if he is in a legal weed dispensary. 1) there is no proof he tried anything and 2) I would MUCH rather anyone smoke weed for pain relief than eat handfuls of vicodin and get weekly cortozone shots. Obviously, Zeke needs to be smart enough to not get in trouble but people are acting like he got caught in a crack house.
i agree 100% with your post, BUT, legal weed dispensary or not, weed is still a substance that's banned by the NFL. It's just not a smart move on his part.
Totally agree. He shouldnt have been there. I guess I just hate that this morning in my office people are talking about that instead of his performance last night.
I'm perfectly happy with Dak as the backup. Zeke looked very impressive and the WRs have been awesome. Definitely excited for the season
Drew Stanton could. Chad Henne could. There are decent back up QBs in the NFL. The Cowboys don't have one. And that isn't a knock on Dak. He will see actual gameplans in the regular season, see how he does then.
Drew Stanton and Chad Henne? Since we're the Cowboys are we allowed to cherry pick the backup QB we want from other rosters?
He'll be fine as long as Dez stays healthy. I think he can keep the team above water. He can stretch defenses. Something we couldn't do last year.
He is pretty raw as a passer but I'm hoping the threat of the QB run, along with our normal running game, will give him enough of an edge to keep the offense afloat
He looks like Joe Montana compared to those broke dicks we had last year. He can throw deep. He can throw back shoulder. His intermediate and short throws are in good locations. He has mobility. He looks to have some pocket awareness. He seemed to read Seattle's blitzes pretty well and got the ball out quick. Not sure about how he'll go through progressions yet. Not sure how he'll handle the live bullets in the regular season.
http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2016/08/30/jaylon-smith-improvement-field Interesting sound bite here. Reporter asks if Jaylon Smith's nerve is firing and he says "yes." Kind of up to interpretation if he meant that as a direct answer to the question and obviously it isnt official but i like what i am hearing :)
If he came back at that level, Dak is the qb of the future and Zeke lives up the hype (a ton of ifs obviously) this will be one of our best drafts ever
I literally hate T Will. Dude such an insane lack of knowledge when it comes to his trade. Dude isn't a rookie anymore and has presumably played football all his life and doesnt know you need to get out of bounds there?
Reminds me of Brandon Mcillwain on his first snap and scramble last night. Tip toed out of bounds for a 12 yd loss rather than throwing it away. Freshman vs 3rd year pro though
Cole Beasley had a TD first drive if he doesn't drop the ball. You're an idiot if you blame this solely on TWill, yes he made a mistake but gtfo
Best case if he gets out of bounds it's a 62 yarder. More likely a 63-64 yarder. Bailey's long is a 56.
Semantics but he was downed at the Giants 40. Best case scenario its a 58 yarder and Bailey has the leg for 2 more yards
The 56 yarder he kicked earlier in the game would've been good from 60+. It was a stupid mistake by a veteran. We have a rookie qb and rb, it would be great if the guys around them didn't act like rookies.
He won the Seattle and Detroit playoff game for us in '14. That being said, we should move on from him after this season.
I hate how he disappears for 6-7 weeks at a time. Our #2 just going through the motions frustrates me.
Great game for the Boys last night. Dak just improves every week, its really exciting. Great to see Zeke have a big game. Man, I don't even wanna look at Terrance Williams' twitter. That guy has had a rough season thus far. Its a shame because if he hadn't fumbled at the end of that pass he would have had himself a good game. Now all anyone will talk about is his turnover.
I really don't want Jerry to insert Romo back in the lineup when he gets healthy if the Cowboys are still looking this good, but I know he won't be able to resist.
Romo has won 17 of his last 22 starts. Why wouldn't we give him a shot? Can we not be so myopic, please? Dak looks very good against questionable competition. He is the clearly the future of our franchise. But I'm not ready to say he is better than a guy who nearly won the MVP 2 seasons ago after beating up on the fucking bears
I don't think we have a defense that can win a championship and I don't think Romo can play a full season. I don't want to pull Dak out and hinder his development and cohesiveness with his teammates to give a 36 year old with a 46 year old body one more shot at glory.
It really is super impressive. Plus the headache of searching and potential wasted picks this saves us is unreal. I am very very pleased. It also helps that Dak says and does literally ALL the right things. I don't think, on or off the field, the kid has made a single mistake since we picked him.
I selfishly want to see Romo win a super bowl so I can tell every mother fucker ever to suck his ass. I think a ring would get him in the hof as well. I think this is his last year either way. I'm willing to give him this year. Fuck he gave us everything. He won't be able to walk at 50. I'd keep him out as long as Dak keeps us above water though. Maybe bring him back week 10 or so if we're still in good shape.
There was the dui and spring break fight he had in college. Those are "boys will be boys" growing up parts of life for most people though. He has been really impressive on and off the field as a cowboy.
He is everything you could hope for in a rookie QB. So calm at all times. Love Dak. But I'm not ready to throw Romo under the bus for a guy whose most impressive victory is over Kirk Cousins just yet.
There is a test of time of young qb's. Rg3, kaep, and several others were anointed only to end up flopping. Coordinators find weaknesses and adjust.
