get hooked on running get girls since running is far superior to standing and picking up weights and putting them down post more ITT
i'd say a combo of the two is best I went by a running store in town and had them help me pick out some shoes. Haven't used them yet, might go to the gym before dodgeball tonight but I'm not too sure.
agreeeeeed I do both I just have way more fun running and am trying to trick people into liking running as much as me
Started Trail Running last week. Enjoying it a lot more then hitting the pavement. Lucky that I have a maintaned trail next to my neighborhood.
Walked 9 miles Sunday for various reasons. Legs hurt like a sumbitch, specifically in the shin area. No idea how anyone ever runs 26 miles
Me and a friend walked like 8-10 miles in St Louis a few years ago. I wayyyyy more sore after that than I was after my marathon in October.
almost cracked the 9:00/mi average on my 8+ mile run tonight. hard work is paying off, need more work though
Can't wait to up my running game when I get to Colorado. Trails galore. Elevation adjustment will be interesting.
Went for a nice little run around the neighborhood today. Damn near shat myself and had a photo finish running into the house to the bathroom. Winner.
I find this comical for a couple reasons. for one, I've never had blister issues. the other being the language used, "to execute a heal lock." hopefully someone will find this helpful.
how do I tie my laces to make me go lots faster? also, i am ocd and it would take me about 100 attempt to get the laces the exact same length to address the to pain issue
ha no, that was when I ran in college. I've been lifting/eating/drinking for 2 years now. Running lost its appeal unfortunately. I want to get back in now. I have a few months of weight loss before I even worry about 5k times.
New shoes on the way. Finally returning to based god Asics after a brief, unsuccessful flirtation with Brooks.
I dont think I've posted ITT before actually so here's my deal: Played sports in high school but never ran recreationally. Got fat in college after stopping sports. Started running to lose weight for spring break. Kept running after. Lost way too much weight (35 lbs). Was running around 30 miles (5 mi. x 6 days) a week and eating nothing. Realized I was too skinny and started lifting. Now lifting/running as a combo. Generally focus more on lifting in the winter and more on running in the summer. Usually run between 3-5 miles a day. If anyone in Atlanta wants to share routes, that sounds cool. Dear diary memoir
Once we get a new office I can do some non-treadmill running over lunch. Have to go to my gym down the road now.
First Pre Work morning run today. Had my Coffee, Oatmeal and a BM beforehand. Didn't shit myself during the run which is what really matters.
I can't run without taking a shit beforehand or else I will have to shit mid run every time. Anyone use Strava or anything else to track your runs?
Speak to me of shin splits/ compression socks. Was never a problem until recently. Now I'm getting them ( at least I think it's shin splints) Sore as fuck after a run, feels like someone kicked me in the shins. Sore as hell when I start the run but the pain seems to subside after I get going, warm up a little
Had this problem for a while. started decreasing the mileage a little, did some more calf exercises, wore compression socks and haven't had any pain for over 2 years
I use dailymile now I would use Strava if I had a garmin. Once my nike gps watch finally ruins I'm getting a garmin 220 and using Strava Its cool on Strava that you can basically race people - you can track different segments in your city and beat people's time.
i had those awhile back and doing some lifts on a leg press machine helped. put some weight on, knees bent, then pull toes towards body to move sled up. sled is only gonna move like an inch or two but it seemed to help me out.
I have a Nike watch and am able to upload my runs to Strava. It's not as easy as a Garmin but log into your Nike account on this dudes site and you can upload all your runs: https://mattstuehler.com/lab/NikePlus/
just ran the 5 hilliest miles I've ever run at my parentals in rural oklahoma. also, it was on a one lane, 65mph highway with no paved shoulder so I am going to be so sore from all the time i spent rrunning on the grass sloped shoulder. oh well, got my miles in.
After a couple of years off from running, I'm back at it. Signed up for a 9 mile XTerra Trail Run in September. I need to drop at least 30 lbs between now and then.
The girlfriend and I started running together about a month ago, but started slacking for whatever reason. Really need to get back at it.
trick her into loving to run and then she'll never get fat down the road and you wont have to have an uncomfortable "you need to lose weight" talk that's my plan with whatever poor girl I convince to be with me
Triathlon in < 1 month. I'm fine with each individual segment, stringing them together is going to be tiring.
