The 6920 is my favorite, you can wait a few months and they will be back at a good price. The new S&W sporter 2 has vast improvements. Lined barrel and a better bolt along with dust cover and forward assist. It may be on the level of the 6920 now and its about 300 less.
Handgun owners. . Just taking a small count on Magazines. For your carry or home defense pistol, how may magazines do you own? How much do you think is enough? For my ccw I own 5 and just got a sweet deal on another 3. So that's 8 total. The new 3 hold an extra round each so I could technically sell a few. My wife has a total of 5 mags for her pistol but hers hold 15 each.
At work I have 4 on me, another 7 in my go bag. If I'm traveling, I take my go bag, as my mags work in my G30 too. Regular EDC, I have an extra mag
For the G19 I think I have 8 mags, another 5 that G17 mags. When I carry, I carry one spare. Never sell a mag unless you are selling a gun that they take, can never have too many mags.
My carry is a Walther PPS with a 7 round mag. It also came with an 8 round magazine, but I don't carry that one because it sticks out a bit more and I want the greatest amount of concealability. I figure if I can't get the job done in 7 rounds I'm dead either way, so I don't carry a second magazine. That may change if I can find a decent iwb single mag carrier.
I go back and forth with my mags. I like the 8 because of the full grip and its an extra round. During cold seasons it's not an issue. This is my first summer with my new pistol so IDK what adjustment I'm gonna be making. I've been appendix carry for 4 months and I like it. I think I want to make my own Kydex or leather IWB.
I don't carry any spare mags with me. I have a sig p239 .40 with a 7 round mag. I have 2 additional mags that came with that gun. I really don't plan on getting into a fire fight anytime soon. If I want to carry something smaller, I carry my ruger sp101 snubnose .357 (5 round cylinder). I do have extra mags for all of my pistols but don't feel the necessity of carrying multiple mags, especially for my 9mm's that have 15 round mags. Just my opinion though, not trying to be argumentative.
I think this is a realistic POV. I don't ever expect or hope to use mine and capacity is always a question for me. I don't ever plan on shooting at anything over 10 yards (more like 5) either. With that said you're gonna have to be within arms length for me to even consider. At that point the likelihood of me missing is slim. Shield Mags are pretty small too. As long as I have at least 14-17 total rounds I feel comfortable.
I travel with 17 hollow points in the gun and another 17 fmj in a mag that I never expect to use, and usually just end up shooting them at targets
I carry a Sig P238. Six hollow points in the mag and one in the hole and keep another mag/six rds in the center console.
So this is a steal, buy a Burris AR prism sight and get a fast fire 3 reflex for free http://www.cabelas.com/product/Burr...edium=AFF&utm_source=35987&rid=12&WT.tsrc=AFF
I carry PX4 compact, 15 rd mag. 1 chambered. Extra nag stays in console. Agree with all stated. Don't want or expect to ever use.
I switched from regular hollow points to Precision One for my 238. Check out their ballistics and see if it works for your needs, as it did mine. http://www.precisiononeammunition.c...e=product_info&cPath=1_2_37_42&products_id=63
Typically carry an extra 7-round xDS mag. I keep an extra, plus 2 more 9-round extended mags in the glovebox / quick safe. Bought all the extra mags one afternoon for $15/each when they were mis-marked at Academy.
Yeah so thats an army m110. Havent followed the thread at all so maybe a backstory to your post, but if youre building that you could save a lot of money
Indeed it's an M110. The story: - Bought a KAC SR25 ECR which features most of the M110 characteristics minus the gas block (see above), fixed stock (need this), and roll mark (don't care) - I'm actually re-barreling the rifle to 6.5 Creedmoor as I already have an ECC in .308. Marvin Pitts of Nefarious Arms, LLC. Is contouring the barrel for me (using a Bartlein blank) - boltcarrier.com is assembling the rifle in addition to cerakoting - M110 suppressor is currently on Form 3 - Going with a S&B 3-20x50mm scope rather than the Leupy Mark IV in that picture It's a fun one for sure
If I carried a single stack subcompact I would definitely carry a spare mag. Somebody shooting back at you and the misses stack up.
Does anyone have experience with Wilson Combat or Nighthawk 1911's? Looking to step my 1911 game up and am intrigued by the Wilson Protector and Nighthawk War Hawk. Both have similar MSRP's, from what little I've found people say Wilson will be a better fit 'n finish while the Nighthawk is likely to have a better trigger etc.
I've been very happy with my alien gear 3.0. I got the c-clips with mine. They're harder to be spotted and do the job all the same, just make sure the belt you use is the right size for them.
Really wanting a snub nose smith and Wesson 627. Anyone have any good ideas where I can find a good deal?
Thoughts from thoughts from the gurus- PSA olive drab or S&W MP15 sport 2? Same price- saw has the magpie pop up sight- Tia
What do you think? I just got a fastfire iii and thinking of putting it in my m&p/fns or adding it on an angle to my rifle with the 3-9x
I like it. I'm more accurate, more consistent and can recover from recoil faster with it compared to iron sights but it takes some getting used to. I can now use it with both eyes wide open which is helpful for finding your target faster. The great thing is there's no lining up sights. Just put the dot on the target and shoot. Sounds obvious but on a handgun it's a big change. Finding the dot initially is the hardest part I think but gets easier with practice.
