Love Agave, never had a bad meal there. Am I crazy for entertaining the idea of buying a house in Adair Park? I'm thinking of buying my own rental in East Lake, if that doesn't go through I'm seriously looking at Adair Park. Or might just do it in 6 months.
Gf and I went to Barcelona last night. I usually prefer Iberian Pig for my tapas but they had half off every bottle of their wine. That's a steal as long as you're not getting a Robert Mondavi or Cupcake (looking a Stuhly here)
As it should. Who the fuck brings an iPad with such amazing views? That's definitely targeted at poor hipsters.
I have yet to drive over there, but am Interested. I have heard it is real sketch, but know some people from Kirkwood moved over there
What are my chances of getting a table for 3 at Vahi Taco Mac if we can't make it until right at tip. Has it been crowded for Hawks games!
Just saw this, I live in a house in Midtown near Grady High. Speaking of which, 10th street westbound is now one lane, the entire right lane is now a bicycle lane. Now, I'm all for encouraging alternate transportation, but did we really need to sacrifice an entire lane of traffic? I get that it's cheaper, but its not as if it's going to make people start riding bikes. Additionally, it's easy enough to already ride your bike through the park in that section of town rather than on the street. Now, if they replaced that lane with a streetcar, I'd be much more on board, and may even consider taking public transit to work. Seems like yet another band-aid traffic fix.
Yep going to create even more traffic along that portion of 10th than there already is. Oh well, not my problem anymore in two weeks.
50 Miles of New Atlanta Streetcar Lines Billed as 'Priority' Wednesday, May 6, 2015, by Michael Kahn [All images via Atlanta Beltline.] For those who didn't realize that Atlanta is the land of fantasies, refined plans for the next phases of an expanded streetcar network were revealed last month at a "Citywide Conversation" hosted by theBeltline. New drawings showed a rainbow's worth of routes, all tweaked from the initial proposals released before the current streetcar loop was built. The plans call for 50 miles of streetcar service, mostly contained within the ring created by the future Beltline. In addition to one line running around the Beltline, three lines traverse the city east-to-west and two run north-south. At the moment, the only priority line that breaks outside the Beltline would be one running along Peachtree from Lenox Square to Fort McPherson, emphasizing the need to bolster service in the inner-city. However pie-in-the-sky the plans may be, here are the six proposed lines, and a few suggestions for what they should be called ... BeltLine Central Loop (aka the Pedestrian Plower) — Bidirectional service around the Beltline, destined to run down all the wayward runners and walkers who amble into its path. ... Crosstown Inner Loop (aka the ITP) — East-west bidirectional service extending the existing streetcar line to the Beltline via Atlanta University Center and running clockwise on the Beltline inner track, which is pretty much the new ITP. ... Crosstown Outer Loop (aka the Braves Express StrëtKärr) — North-south bidirectional service connecting Turner Field, Marietta Street Corridor and Northside Drive and running counterclockwise on the Beltline outer track, and most importantly going near IKEA. ... Crosstown Crescent Line (aka the L) — East-west bidirectional service connecting Grant Park to Atlanta University Center via Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in the shape of an L. ... Crosstown Midtown Line (aka the Varsity) — East-west bidirectional service connecting Ponce City Market to Georgia Tech and Westside Reservoir Park along the North Avenue corridor, passing by Atlanta's culinary icon, the Varsity. ... Crosstown Peachtree Line (the Stuck in Traffic) — North-south bidirectional rail service along Peachtree running from Lenox Squarein Buckhead through downtown and along Lee Street south of the city to Fort McPherson, which will likely just sit in traffic in Buckhead ... and Midtown ... and downtown ... ... Unfortunately, plans call for the streetcars to run in predominantly mixed traffic, meaning any of these plans that are actually realized will encounter many of the same issues of the current line. While the exact street alignment is yet to be determined, the map gives a general idea — within two or three blocks — of where streetcars would go, if Atlanta were somehow able to find the money to do any of this. · Atlanta Streetcar System Plan [Atlanta Beltline] http://atlanta.curbed.com/archives/...of-new-streetcar-lines-billed-as-priority.php
Just came to post that Fran Tarkenton If God loves us, it will happen. Original plan was 62 miles and 2.5 billion. So this one might be just a touch less. God damn that would be awesome. Throw a Marta line up 75, 400 and put a looping bus around perimeter and we're fucking cooking bitch. Think give me some regional trains
So, looking like we will have 2018 College Title Game, 2019 Super Bowl, 2020 College Semifinal, and 2020 Final 4 + whatever Soccer games come our way. http://www.myajc.com/news/sports/co..._twitter_2014_uga_sfp#0b87d522.3579291.735724
Why would you put a street car that runs exactly where MARTA runs? Just have better connectivity. Boom, just saved the city millions.
On 5/29 two bands, Idle Bloom and Churchyard, will be playing at 529 in East Atlanta Go if you like amazing guitarists, each band has awesome female lead guitarists. The Idle Bloom one, Callan Dwan, is soooooo sick
Yep. MARTA is better utilized for longer trips. The streetcar is for short trips and promotes economic development. Infill transit, or so I've heard.
looks like theyre also adding a light to 10th street by the park traffic is going to be worse and no one is going to alter their routes
it's a good lineup, and has that feeling of being better if an act or two were switched in the schedule's lineup. or if they could have gotten portugal the man to play there instead of the masquerade on friday..
They've done an incredible job for three years getting acts to play the festival either as their last show on a run or a one off while not playing hardly anywhere else.
I only wish I could have foreseen the lineups and chosen Shakey Knees instead of fucking 'Roo. I'll still enjoy myself, but Shakey Knees killed it this year.
considering how new it is they're doing a great job with it. had been looking at the austin city limits lineup and how it seemed perfect if they could swap florence & the machine out for the strokes or alabama shakes. or move modest mouse to the first weekend.
Oh fuck. I have a huge weak spot for these. I know they're white-trashy, but I can never resist. Might have to get the soonest res I can to see if I can catch these.
In the competition to redevelop the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center into something that isn't so tired, only two legitimate contenders — with vastly different ideas — remain standing, Bisnow reports. In one corner, Weingarten Realty Investors (an outfit from Texas who has joined forces with Jamestown Properties in the past) reportedly has a more traditional, urban mixed-use redo in mind for the Civic Center's 858,000 square feet and surrounding land. In the other corner stands a consortium that includes funnyman Steve Harvey and Massachusetts-based UnReel Studios; they're leaning more toward a film studio campus for the massive intown site.

Porsche HQ is one business that makes sense being OTP. Hope the civic center goes more traditional mixed-use, or even closer to a Poncy City Market-type. Film studio doesn't scream urban reinvestment to me.

I have colleagues working on Porsche and they said they all got booted out today along with most of their own employees for the ribbon cutting. They have some big time Germans in town for it.
