I've mentioned this before, but if you want to go "nice" and treat them to a cool view, check out Nikolai's Roof in the Hilton. The chef is a friend of mine and one of the real up and comers in the Atlanta food scene. She totally revamped the menu and décor and transformed that place from a bland hotel restaurant to a really nice chef driven locale. http://www.atlantamagazine.com/dini...ete-works-to-bring-new-life-to-nikolais-roof/
In looking around at these downtown restaurants, can anyone explain to me why downtown is so goddamn expensive, even as compared to Midtown/Buckhead? The only thing I can think is that either the rents are ridiculously high (unlikely) or that the only people eating out downtown regularly are corporate types who are expensing everything or tourists who aren't price sensitive or don't know what Atlanta prices should be.
Property costs are high. And Im thinking that they gouge the lunch crowd, given so few options. I ate at some mexican place called Jalapeno Charlies a few weeks ago and it was shitty/expensive. I def dont mind paying up for the view at sundial or polaris though.
My gf works at 191 Peachtree and I met her and some coworkers at Meehans for a happy hour once. Ended up staying for dinner and the bill was $100+ for a sandwich/salad and a couple beers each.
Austin L. Ray@austinlouisray Torched Hop, a brewpub opening in December across from Mary Mac's on Ponce, will have 16 taps.
I went back and deleted it because after looking at it again for the first time in a couple weeks I didn't love it, but I'll post it again. http://atlanta.curbed.com/archives/...alking-distance-to-pretty-much-everything.php
Has anyone here been to Cafe Rouge on Peachtree? I've been a couple times and it's pretty good, only had sandwiches however. I've never met anyone that's been there before. http://www.cafemrouge.com/ They have a huge selection of desserts too.
Haven't been, but can't recommend Saltyard across the street enough. Have been consistently impressed with food, cocktails, and staff. Location sucks, but I feel like its almost a hidden gem.
Holy f'n shit at this treehouse you can rent right in of Buckhead... https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1415908
security guard fired shots at a guy who was trying to run him over. horrible area - you should stay away.
Traffic is a fucking shit show, glad I'm already home. Midtowners, Midtown Market at 10th and peidmont will have Prpheus starting Monday fwiw.
I took it like him asking whether or not someone got shot there, but I'm not as hate filled as some of you.
Had to work at a client up in Alpharetta off Windward Parkway. Took nearly 2 fucking hours to get back home in Midtown. Immediately bought beer upon arriving home.
“The solutions that we have are going to make this so much easier than the solution we have at Turner Field now,” Plant said. LOLOLOLOLOLOL Jesus these fucking people are clueless. Holy shit.
Bil Danielson · Top Commenter I would absolutely ride to a game, its a great idea! We need more encouragement for and awareness of cyclists on the roads! And to all you naysayers and cynics who flippantly suggest 285 is a rational notion for cycling, please keep your day job - comedy doesn't suit you. Given the insane amount of money being expended on infrastructure related to this new venue, the LEAST they could do is accommodate cyclists. Make it so! Hey Bill, do yourself a favor for the rest of us and kill yourself.
So I have an offer to go work in the Perimeter area/Sandy Springs. Fiancee and I are thinking that renting in Buckhead is the obvious play but am I crazy to want to consider Midtown/Pouncey Highlands-Beltline area?
Going to try Sobban tonight. Can't think of any other place I really want to go that I don't need a ressie. Something above super casual. Thoughts?
No, you're not crazy. IMO it is better place and Buckhead is very bro-y and kind of try too hard. If you worked in Perimeter, are you near a marta station?
Literally across the street from the Dunwoody station. What are some good outdoorsy neighborhoods for the 25-30 crowd? We are planning on getting a dog and being in walking distance to food and drink
Decatur is pretty awesome, but you'd probably be 30+min train ride. Anywhere between 17th and 5th and you're probably good in Midtown. Do you want a yard? Looking for a house or condo b/c of dog
Ate at Zibas today before heading to the zoo. anyone been? the boulevard burger was great, melted blue cheese was on point.
