Wife has a prescription for this cause she can get bad motion sickness. She has been raving about how awesome it is for hangovers for a while but I don't ever get sick the day after and generally don't like taking any pills. Recently had a hangover where I felt like I was dying, still wasn't throwing up but I popped one of those guys and felt 1000x better.
Sick write up BamaNug pumped for my fall trip to both spots. Language barrier is gonna suck, but oh well. Did you get into the water at all in Rio when at the beach? Also, BA is known as Paris of South America, so you're Europe comment isn't too shocking
I got about knee deep in the water at the beach, and the water from the Atlantic is supposed to be fine. It's only the lake that's gross, and it's really, really gross. But you never really have any need to go near it. Only complaint I'd have about Rio is the traffic/public transportation. They have uber, and it's really cheap, but it takes a long time to get virtually anywhere in the city, even from one neighborhood to the next. But, it's also a great city to walk it the south zone.
The fucking motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic is annoying as fuck. Also having one turn lane then all of a sudden you're 3 wide in the turn.
So much to read at work tomorrow. Great write-up @Bama Nug -- did you post pics of any of the other gals you bagged?
Did not, didn't connect with all of them via facebook. I'm working on a gopro video of the trip now and they're in there. The video is going to take me a while, so much damn footage. I'm also still in recovery mode on Wednesday
I didn't get any, I think you'll be fine. Bring face cream/lotion to Cusco and MP, the altitude dries your skin out soooo bad, to the point that it fucking hurts.
Planning a 3-4 week trip to Europe for next spring or early summer. It's so hard to pin down exactly where to go. I want to see a billion things, but the more places you go, the more time you lose on trains/flights. :/
Church rave just posted a bunch of pictures from that night. I'm in there sporadically. https://m.facebook.com/makeyoudancegroup/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1252963434716519&mt_nav=1
Probably was shot with either a gopro or a fisheye lens on the camera. And probably because that place isn't reality and only exists in a small bubble in Argentina.
I am enjoying the Find Bamanug game I'm playing...early leader in the clubhouse is the graphic American Eagle T guy
Hey travel thread, the gf and I will be in San Francisco next weekend. You guys gave us some awesome Seattle suggestions, so I'm going back to the well. We have all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday morning to do stuff. Looking for good food/drinks, can't miss places, possibly something outdoors if it's awesome and doesn't take an entire day out of the trip. I think we'll have access to a car if needed. Thanks in advance, and likes for all suggestions.
Where are you staying? If you find yourself near Fisherman's Wharf, go to Codmother for fish and chips. It's seemingly the only non-chain there. There will probably be a line. Some of my favorite bars/gastropubs were The Willows, Hopwater Distribution, and Monk's Kettle.
Where are you staying? If you do have access to a car and want to get outdoors, you can drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and go hiking in the Marin Headlands or go a little further and go to Muir Woods
May try and organize a NYE trip back down to Rio with some friends. I want to go back to that damn city so bad.
-French Cinema for brunch -NoPa Grille and 4505 Barbecue for dinner -If you want to just hang out outdoors, grab a six pack and a blanket and sit in Dolores Park by the Mission with a burrito. Cool place to just hang out and chill
enjoying the weather in the outdoor area was awesome their salt cod dish was one of the best things I had in SF
Thanks for all the suggestions. We are staying in Sausalito, by the way, if that lends to any other ideas. We will have a car.
Wife and I have a thing in Durham NC soon. We'll have a few days to waste. Anyone have suggestions on things to do in the area?
Durham used to be kind a shit hole of a city but have actually come a long way in the last few years. Not sure if your into baseball at all and you really don't have to but the Durham Bulls games are pretty fun to go to, that area is nice with a couple good restaurants nearby, the stadium is really nice. DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) is a really great venue so depending on whats going on there could do dinner and that and make a pretty nice night of it. There are actually a bunch of good restaurants in Durham, would just use yelp to find some. Chapel Hill and Raleigh are both pretty quick drives if you have a car, can also be at the beach or in the mountains within about 2 hours if you have a car. Just a couple things to get you going.
Going to Switzerland next week with qurl and her family. Gonna land in Geneva, head to Zermatt and St Mortiz. Anyone have any ideas on things to do? Family has shit planned but I wanna make sure i'm not missing anything. kthxbye
Went and got all this taken care of today. They actually give you antibiotics and zofran without asking as part of their travel kit. Then they even recommended me not get the yellow fever until i knew for sure I'd be going to the falls, and just get it down in Argentina. I appreciated their honesty. Now I just hope it doesn't kill me.
$340 flights from Houston to Hong Kong September - November. Oh mylanta I want to pull the trigger so bad.
I got the same text. thats during football season brah. I couldn't do that to myself..even for the savings.
Wait, texts giving you these deals? What group do I have to sign up for to get these? Also, is it available for Charlotte?
So I follow @escapeatx @cheapdfw @escapehouston on twitter, the three airports I fly out of most often. There is probably the same type account for most major airports. Turn on Twitter text notifications for those accounts and you'll get all fares/updates via text. Here's my thread.
Go to a giants game if they're playing at home. If it's at night sit on the first base side. Gorgeous view at night of the city and the bay.
I'm going to a sf Giants game in Sept when Texas plays at Cal. Were going with plans to sit on that side. How high up do we need to see to have bay views? Second deck?
Might not be the best place to raise this question but has anyone been skiing/boarding in the Canadian rockies? Some buddies and I are in the beginning stages of planning a trip up there for December. We are looking at Whistler blackcomb, Banff area, or Revelstoke and Kicking Horse. Will be a group of 4/5 guys that want to ski everyday while also going out at night. Flying from Chicago so can get to most major airports relatively easy.
