Does anyone have the new Android N preview? Supposedly it's pretty close to the actual release. I switched back from the beta program a couple releases ago and am kind of afraid to go back.
I do. It's solid but each release has been pretty stable for the most part...this one is no different.
Haven't gotten the one that was just released this week yet but the one before that has worked pretty well for me.
still don't have LTE with us cellular in Fi. I have the sim profile, but it will only connect to 3G. I don't care right now, but hopefully I'll have LTE by next weekend.
the only issue with Android N i have isn't really a problem with N per se, it's just because its not an official release. When I try to use the AMEX app, it wont proceed saying the app needs to be updated, which is probably poorly coded to mean that they have restricted it from working on preview software.

I just like it because it's basically stock with root and you can switch he kernel if you want. Usually not buggy .
Not a fan of the latest beta. My phone is getting extremely laggy at times and the only way to fix it is to restart. Haven't even been on the newest beta for 24 hours and already been forced to restart twice. Phone also is getting really hot when charging. Thinking of leaving the beta again and returning to Marshmallow.
So I'm running into a little issue where my "recent apps" aren't showing up when I try and pull them up. I just get a blank screen with "this is where your recent apps appear" message. Phone fixes when I restart it but it's happened twice in the last week. Anyone have something similar? Not on any beta or anything. Nexus 6p 6.0.1 android
Nexus 6P or 5X (although the 6P is better but it is too big for some folks). Moto phones are always solid but I am leary of buying from them now that they are owned by Lenovo, who has a less than desirable track record. Samsungs are always good quality but I personally refuse to ever buy anything from Samsung anymore after the POS Samsung tablet I bought 2-3 years ago.
Love my LGv10. Messed around with a Note 7 at Best Buy the other day. Seemed like a nice enough phone, but didn't really get me all jazzed up. Would like to see the specs side by side Note 7 / LGv20 / Nexus ?? Roommate had a 1plus2 this past year and he said it was great when it first came out but the cheapness showed and it's hit a brickwall on performance
Finally fixed this issue (as far as I can tell). After receiving no help from Google or HTC aside from an offer to send it in for $120 + shipping and maybe have it fixed, I scoured deeper and deeper into Google searches and finally found something that seemed to work for some people. Just had to pop the back off my tablet and carefully remove the battery. Left it unplugged from the motherboard for a couple hours before plugging it back in and putting everything back together. It seems all it needed was a hard reset of the connection between the battery and motherboard because it has been working flawlessly since I did it. Still pissed at Google and HTC about their lack of help. From what I gathered online, there was a considerable portion of HTC Nexus 9 tablets in the initial release that have this issue and neither of the two companies are really acknowledging it or helping people fix it. Disappointed in the two as they've always been great to me before (concerning my HTC Android phone).
I just tried to find the exact forum I found before but couldn't come up with it this time. All it showed me was a bunch of people had been having this problem and finally one tried the battery disconnect method and got the results they wanted. Then, a few more tried and it seemed to work for them too so it seemed like a no brainer to me. Because I had never before taken the cover off any tablets and messed with any components, I was slightly intimidated but then I remembered my warranty was up anyway and I had nothing to lose since the tablet was basically unusable anyhow. And then I later found out taking off the cover and removing the battery is pretty damn simple and risk free if you have instructions. For those, I used the following and it went great. To take the cover off I did this but used a pocket knife initially and then a credit card because I don't own most of the little tablet tools he has: To remove the battery I used this and just stopped after I had accomplished that: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus 9 Rear Facing Camera Replacement/36892 I let the battery stay out for a few hours just because I had to leave my house soon after I took it out and put it back in when I got home later. It took me a few tries to get the connector actually attached to the motherboard connector correctly but it finally happened and I got the case back on with relative ease as it booted up. Haven't had an issue in the days since and I've allowed it to be fully charged and drain all the way down without spazzing out like it had been doing. As far as I can tell, it is fixed. Spoiler Fuck that tablet if it fucks up again now that I've said that.

Only thing I really dislike is that the doze feature in the OS stops sending me notifications for internet connected apps if I don't wake up my phone after about 1.5 hours if I don't have my phone plugged in. Shit is kind of annoying.
Yeah pretty sure im going with the 6P. It was between that or the s7 (upgrade purposes), but you guys just helped me make my decision My replacement HTC desire eye randomly went brain dead and is very slow. Literally need to get a new phone tomorrow
You can disable Doze on an app to app basis. Settings -> battery -> three dots in the top right -> battery optimization. Just disable it on the apps you need.
Did not know that, thank you kind sir. I'll do that and get my phone charged up before I go to bed and leave it off overnight and see if that works.
Anyone have any experience with any Windows tablets? There isn't a thread for it, is there? I was given a Dell Venue Pro 11 a few years ago by someone who didn't like or want it any more and I've never really used it. Hated Windows 8 when I first tried it but I'm willing to give it another chance. Thus far, this tablet sucks. Even if I didn't have a Nexus 9 I don't think I'd use it.
There was plenty of nexus 4 love in here back in the day. There just was a time there where moto was pretty awesome too and a 6 inch Nexus was too big for most. I'm super hyped on the new nexus again this year, it better live up.
I have the original oneplus one for my personal phone and I'll be honest, there's nothing cheap feeling about it. I've had a ton of phones and this one is two years old and run it's course, but it's been the best phone I've ever had. I'm getting the 3 next.
Actually figured out a different method. Usedf this app called automate (similar to Tasker but much easier to work with) and set up a task/flow that would wake the CPU every hour. Woke up this morning and notifications had worked throughout the night.
I had the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5. The Nexus 6 drove me away and I ended up with Motorolas and an LG (which I hated). Got rid of the LG shortly after the 6P came out. Just sucks now that Motorola has been bought by Lenovo. Pretty much stuck with the Nexus line if I want a well supported phone that isn't skinned to death by the manufacturer.
I've had pretty good luck. ~2008 Blackberry Tour> Evo 4G > Evo 4G LTE > Nexus 5 > Nexus 6 > 2016 Nexus 5x (bought the cheaper one to hold me over to Marlin)
First one may have been better than the sequel. Idk, I've never used one. I know he recently switched back to his note 4
Speaking of Oneplus... Has anyone here handled the 3? The 3 looks amazing and has great reviews so far. It's nice that we have phones like that competing and pushing the nexus lineup. If my 1+1 didn't still work so well, I'd have already ordered one. I will probably hang on and see the new nexus before I pull the trigger.
Um....I just updated the software/operating system. My fucking text size is God damn massive. In all applications. Volume button doesn't change anything. Nor does two fingers. How do I fix this.
