For guys with the Nexus 6 or the new Note.....is it too big? Thinking of going into the Phalet market, but a little worried about size. I'm in dire need of a new phone and not sure which one I want & just about all the new phone are out. Still rocking an old S3
i love my N6, im just currently furious the glass shattered while motorola is sending my replacement to the tune of 175$
its roughly the same size as the iphone 6+, a bit wider i think. its a touch too big. not problematic. I would love for the next nexus to be 5.5 or 5.75. My N5 (4.96") feels like a kids toy. With that said, I love mine. I wouldn't switch to any other device (even if I wasn't tied to sprint). tangent: i think we're near the tipping point for hardware specs for mobile devices. My mobile phone has a better resolution and is more powerful than my work laptop which I work on for 8 consecutive hours a day with 15 chrome windows and many big excel files open. I hope that future phones really invest heavily in battery life. besides that, maybe camera quality. i cant see the PPI war or the processor speed arms race continuing on at this pace.
Love my n6. It's too big to really use one handed, but no complaints outside of that. I was thrilled to get rid of the touchwiz nonsense from my s5.
I have my Note 4 fully custom and do whatever the fuck I want with it. Might take 5 more minutes. Big deal
Dudes, ignore the troll. Don't know why he's started posting in here. I love my Note 4 and can't imagine using a smaller device.
Anyone getting weird readings with gsam and 5.1? My sot with that is 2:23 but the stock battery app says it is 4:40.
So most here are pretty much team Note 4? I liked it when I checked it out. Anyone use it as a note pad for work? I'm being pretty indecisive. Either Note 4, G4 or S6.
So motorola is replacing my ATT 32gb N6 (blue) with an unlocked N6 (white) for 175 for a cracked screen. Not a bad deal. They tried to get me 64gb version but were out of it.
I was sold on the Nexus 6 until I started reading comparisons/reviews. Consensus seemed to be the Note was slightly better. I don't do any customizing to my phone so most of the advantages for the note aren't super relevant to me. I also don't mind touchwiz. It's pretty much personal preference based on what's important to you.
you just go to motorola and file a repair order, super easy. Have to give them your CC though if you want them to send a new phone first, they put a 500$ hold on your card in addition to the 175 and then they send you a preprinted label and you send the broken phone back and they take off the 500 dollar hold when they get your phone.
Got the lollipop update earlier this week. Pretty meh in it so far. Had to figure out the alarm while on silent issue and how to see alerts from lock screen without having full view of texts and emails but got it all figured out. It seems ok but haven't found anything I thought was much better than the old system. My phone is definitely eating more battery now though. My biggest issue is that I can't get videos posted on here to play. I use the Firefox browser and I get the "plug in needed" box instead of the video. Haven't been able to do so since the board came back from the crash. Is that a board issue or a me issue?
Yea I'm on green bc that's the only one that seemed to have a working mobile site. On the others I'd have to zoom in on every page and it just sucked.
replacement N6 got here today, already rooted and unlocked. Just waiting for ballistic case to get here tomorrow so my phone doesn't explode again.
Anyone else have a htc one m8? I have noticed my tweetcaster and trivia crack apps close as soon as I open them. Uninstall update?
No, because others did that and it did not help. Went to play store, and uninstalled android system webview update, everything working again for now
So I've finally manged to get my G3 rooted on lollipop. I've looked at installing xposed but it seems like that's not a very safe option anymore? Any suggestions on where to go from here? /sorry for being a dummy
Went back to the Nexus from the 6+. Still can't get past the poor battery life compared to the iPhone, though.
poor battery life compared to the iPhone? I haven't had the nexus or the 6+ but I do know from buddies that use the 6+ that a Note lasts longer as theirs is always dead before mine and I'm on mine more and awake before they are.
Also I'm pretty sure I'll be pissed off when they introduce the Note 5. Looking more and more like it'll have a non-removable battery which is terrible. I never have to use them when home but when I'm on the road instead of worrying with chargers I just take my two extra batteries for the weekend and I'm always fine.
I'm in the same boat as you. I currently have my sim in the 6+ bc the battery life on the Nexus 6 is pretty poor to be honest. That and I was having some weird LTE issues on the N6.
I use my note 4 pretty heavily starting at about 8. I usually charge it around 2. If I get back to 60 percent or so it'll last me the rest of the day.
i can get 2 days on a good spell on my N5. but i've rooted, and put on 'battery saver' on franco's kernal.
This was my typical day with the iPhone: Off charger at 6:30 Spotify/podcasts Work emails (heavy google push) Browsing/kindle app usage at lunch/hiding time some phone calls heavy texting When I got home at 5, the battery was usually around 60%. With the N6, It was at 32% with similar usage patterns. I got similar results with the Note 4. Maybe it's because of the high screen resolution?
Benzo ROM. I had the 3/7 nightly on it until 2 days ago and I updated it. Now it's a little unstable but still good.
