Fi piggybacks on those two networks and wifi, using whatever has the strongest signal if you're not on wifi. I've seen some conflicting evidence, but I believe it will also roam onto Verizon or AT&T if you're in an area with no Tmobile or Sprint but either of them have roaming privileges with the other big 2.
fantastic tablet. only issues i've noticed are Marshmallow (or M preview build) related. would recommend, especially ath the price its going for these days (often 60% of retail).
The tmo build of 6.0 took forever to be released. I could see the issue being present on the Fi build too, but haven't researched. XDA might be the best place to read more, if you're wanting to.
Yeah so after forcing it to only use either tmobile or sprint its definitely sprint isn't working. I dont think its activated on their. Google swears it is but I called sprint and they have no record of my sim serial number or imei being on their network. I'm starting to get a little irritated with google. I never thought I would say that. Phone still works fine, I still have better coverage than ATT...but i want the amazing!
should Fi users show up on sprints imei list or w/e? I guess technically Fi is a MNVO, so if other MNVOs should, then yours should as well. I would ask for a new sim and repeat the activation process (with a Fi specialist on the line for step by step help).
That's probably on sprint more than google. It literally took 5 phone calls for me to activate my 5x on sprint. I had one woman tell me I couldn't use it on their network because it wasn't a "sprint phone".
Sprint/Verizon/cable companies are in the business of treating you like shit and generally just giving you misinformation. Take anything from them with a grain of salt
Let's talk about the logistics of upgrading to an iphone 6plus, and then selling it and my current Nexus 5 to get a Nexus 6p. I have only ever been to AT&T and upgraded in store, and never sold a phone online. Let's walk me through it. Just re-set all settings to factory settings and then put them on Ebay?
I called them and they were helpful but didn't offer the option to activate my phone.... I ordered a new SIM card (people online are saying that will fix it) and was hoping that would fix it. You're Sprint though and not Fi right?
Right now, yes. I have the Fi invite I just haven't signed up yet...can't quite bring myself to ditch the safety of unlimited data yet.
I was going to do fi but realized it wouldn't really be any cheaper considering me and the wife get like a 22% discount on Verizon.
colonel_forbin one thought: could you order online and have it shipped to you and then not even activate/boot up? Im not sure how the carrier would treat the SN/IMEI or w/e, but its technically less work to get it out of your hands and into someone elses. I would research and see which iphone version/storage capacity yields the highest $ or margin and then go from there.
reset to factory and I like to sell on Swappa. Much less chance of scammers trying to stiff you like eBay. Will be selling my iphone 6 on there in the next few weeks myself.
I've been a Galaxy S guy for a while now. I've had the 4 and 5 but never bought the 6 bc of no sim card and no removeable battery. About time for me a new phone. What's the next great phone coming to Verizon? I'm somewhat of a Samsung fanboy but I'm open to other manufacturers. I've seen where the s7 might come out early (jan/feb) and is supposed to have the sim card back. Hoping that means removable battery again.
There's zero reason to not go with a nexus. If you want the best phone, best experience, and cheap get a nexus.
When does the next one come out? I had a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the Google Nexus is completely different, right?
Same product line, but like the mission impossible franchise which switches up directors for each successive movie, Google (generally) goes with a new OEM for each new Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus was about 5 phones ago GNex Nexus 4 NExus 5 Nexus 6 Nexus 6p/5x
a lot of people are saying the n6 is the best nexus ever,as it has the final missing piece... a great camera. its $499 + tax via google and you can pay in installments I think.
Been out for a month or so. https://store.google.com/category/phones I got to hold the 5x today and it's nice.
Yeah the N6 camera was more often called adequate. Plus battery life seems much better on the 6p/5x, not to mention the fingerprinter scanner. I don't know how much the marshmellow update helped the 6 with battery, but I still heard it's not great. So it's not the like camera was the only thing that's improved.
my OG N5 is super speedy on 6.0, but battery is pretty bad now. My N6 is underclocked, but still speedy and lasts like 2+ days on 6.0 I want to get the 6p right now so bad but i dont need it. Heres to the 2016 Nexus being as big of a jump as the N6>N6p was.
Does anyone know if the biometric stuff like fingerprint scanners will work with an Exchange server? I had an HP laptop with fingerprint and it was awesome. Would love to have that on all electronics.
Coming up on two years with the LG G2. Will start to reserve some savings for a new phone soon. What do you expect to be the best LG phone out around February-March?
Decided to stick with my LG v 10 and it's quite fantastic. The top bar (similar to the samsung Edge) is badass and the camera is awesome.
mine was 3 days. I think they just send batches out at a time and it all depends on how close to a batch release you are when you request an invite. I'm officially switching over all the way tomorrow and porting my number from Verizon and cancelling that service.
So my phone was dropped in a hot tub and doesnt work (note 5). I will cost me 300 to pay off the phone and get a new one since it doesnt work or i can play 150 dollars for insurance to cover the phone. Also best buy is running a promo that if i buy any samasung phone i get a 150 dollar best buy gift card. So should i just do that and get a new phone?
Nexus 6P is gonna be mine. Pretty thrilled. My lovely mother asked what she could get me for Christmas. I of course tell her nothing at all I'm good. So we start talking and I mentioned I'm grabbing a new phone this weekend and she offered to pay for it as long as I was okay with her waiting until Monday when she was in the office. Super awesome. Told her to surprise me on color between Frost White or Aluminum.
