I downloaded the most recent N OTA via the official Android Beta program for my 6P. The phone was pretty buggy for me if I had two alarms on. If I only had one it worked fine. Turned on both and it would take several seconds to go from lock screen to home screen and I was getting a whole lot of general phone lag. Video wouldn't work on Skype or Facebook Messenger. So I went back to Marshmallow. Otherwise I really liked it, and battery life was freaking amazing. Looking forward to when N is officially released.
Have any of you tried cricket wireless? $35/month for unlimited talk and text, and 2.5GB of data. Uses AT&T towers (cricket is owned by AT&T)
I do straight talk, same concept and uses your choice of t-mobile or AT&T. 45/month for talk and text, and 5GB of data. After taxes my bill is $50.45, they just added a high data plan for BYOD users. 55/month 10GB of data.
Sprint sucks balls here. AT&T is the only logical choice for me and this is cheaper than their plans.
you should keep that as long as you can b/c just a connected phone is like $40 on the major carriers' plans.
I don't plan on switching anytime soon. It works perfect for my needs although I'm sure they'll figure out a way to screw me out of that plan eventually.
Amen. I dont even want to discuss what my wife and I pay for our phones. I cant wait to get off ATT and go to Fi or something else, its ridiculous.
Annnnnnnd update Another month, same problem. I got billed for the next cycle even though they supposedly cancelled me last month on Fi. Asked for a supervisor tonight because the first guy I talked to refused to process the refund for April that I was told I would receive when I called early this month. She submitted it as a credit, but then told me it will take 90 days for my refunds to appear because they have to wait for the international charges to post (60 days) to the account, should there be any. So, I have to wait until August for this thing to refund. Verdict: Fi is a good idea, but implementation is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had with Google. Problem is exacerbated by the fact that the online Project Fi console doesn't give you enough information to track things yourself. 3/10.

This doesn't mention solely the Galaxy vs iPhone but does tell you Samsung vs Apple as of Q4 2015... http://www.macrumors.com/2016/01/28/samsung-vs-apple-smartphone-sales-2015/
Haven't seen that yet. Only problem I've had with my 6P is the phone turned off all by itself and would refuse to ever turn on again. I had used it 15 minutes prior, sat it on my desk, then it just fucked up. Had to ship it off to Huawei for them to replace it, took nearly a month. Now every time I want to go turn the screen on, if there is even the slightest hint of hangup time, I get worried that it's done fucked up again.
Make sure the card hasn't been jostled or whatever. The contacs may not be hitting correctly so re-seating it and making sure there isn't debris in the slot could be helpful.
If you have taken the sim out and tried reseating it and it didn't work I would call Verizon and tell them your sim card is going out. They will overnight you one for free.
Anyone have any tablet recommendations? Anything other than Samsung (bad previous experience) and Amazon Kindle (have one and it's kinda blah). I mainly just use it to read comic books and books while watching streaming video. So I don't need much power and obviously not looking to drop a ton of money on something I would have a limited range of use for. Only thing I require is at least 64 GB of storage space or one with 16GB and a microSD card slot along with an HD screen. Comic Books take up a lot of space and 32GB would be cutting it close for having anything else on my tablet.
http://fortune.com/2016/06/08/google-fi-us-cellular/?xid=soc_socialflow_twitter_FORTUNE Fi adding us cellular. Helps those of us in the Midwest
apologies if this debate has been had already, but i'm upgrading my phone sometime over the next few days and i was wondering what people's thoughts were on the HTC M10 vs samsung s7. samsung's running a promotion where you get a free VR set if you upgrade so that kind of interests me, but my tech friend says it's more of a novelty and not something that should really influence the decision that much.
I tend to agree with your friend. But I've used a promotion like that to get cook shit in the past just to have a new, if not practical, toy.
Who are the actual providers? US Cellular coming on board might have me switching over from Straight Talk to Fi.
fi is sprint, t-mobile and now us cellular, plus any verified open wifi that fi automatically connects you to.
Yeah, and I never notice when I switch from network to network to wifi. It's just as good as any other cell network.
A report is making the rounds that Google will be releasing their own handset this year. With them continuing the Nexus program as well, I'm thinking this could be a project Ara phone. I'd be pretty happy with that.
I don't trust the company after what they have done the past several years. Plus they are god awfully slow with OS updates.
The combination of Fi and Beta has been irritating me the last couple of weeks. Better since the most recent beta relwase but I'm contemplating switching back to public
I switched back to public a couple weeks ago. It was really bothering me. It's nice for everything to work again.
