Multiple discounts at best buy got it to 670 and had an ancient gift card which we all know isn't real money
Are you able to set up multiple accounts on them? Wife and I both have gmail so it'd be nice to have two separate accounts on there.
Thanks. I've been wanting to try one for a while. I can't remember the last time I used anything on a cpu at home that wasn't available in an app. Am I right in viewing it as a hybrid between tablet and cpu? Basically just a nice tablet with a keyboard?
Wife's 6p just went out. I've narrowed it down to the new moto g6 and the original pixel. Thoughts between those?
didn't they increase teh g6 screen size? not sure if she cares that much, but 6p down to pixel (assuming you don't mean XL) might be an adjustment for her.
You can finally text through the computer with android messenger. Its still rolling out but here's the link https://messages.android.com/
I picked it up on a whim...it sucked. It was such a monumental downgrade over even the 6p in my eyes. Amazon had an unopened pixel 1 xl for $275, so I went with that.
I know. There's a way on XDA to force it with root but it looks like a bunch of different steps I'll just keep using hangouts until I get the update.
I've been using Pulse for the last few months and bought a lifetime pass ($10). It's been great texting from my laptop.
Pulse is what I have. I subscribed for a month and didn't find I used it enough on my computer to warrant paying any more though.
Is there a way to check the battery condition instantly? The menu from *#*#4636#*#* used to do it, but it's gone on the pixel 2 xl. Accubattery can do it, but it takes a few cycles to be accurate. I'd like to make sure that the pixel xl that I got my wife was in fact new.
relevant to me. I think google might have a diagnostic services process to check this, but don't know how it displays (if at all) and if it shows in a meaningful way (e.g. something beyond "healthy")
Google has released their own podcasts app now. No longer part of Play Music https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.podcasts
I don't know why anyone with android wouldn't already be using either pushbullet or join. Those get you notification mirroring, remote texting, pushing of links/files/etc, and other features. That said it's long overdue that messenger gets this done and allows simple remote texting for everyone.
I used Join for a few years prior to switching to Pulse. The text feature started fucking up for me and it wasn't reliable through my chromebook. At first, I would send texts and they would never show on my phone but the person would get them. Then the person just stopped getting them. It became too frustrating. Pulse is way more polished and quicker. I was in shock when I switched. I paid the $10 for lifetime within a week of using it (with my google opinion rewards money).
I've always just used the Samsung messenger app for texts and never really had an issue. Am I missing something?
I got it yesterday. I find that the website is often disconnecting from the phone, so it's pretty annoying to use.
Had been using mySMS for years to text from PC so this was a nice surprise. I've had the connection issues at work probably just because of the shitty internet and wifi at my office but no issues at home. Really good timing on this too because mySMS had been acting up a bit over the past month or so.
Having to open the tab and click "use here" each time I go between work and home is somewhat inconvenient. Wish chrome would know which computer is active or just push to all of them.
Are you leaving the tab open at home or work when you go from one to the other? I've never seen a "use here" thing.
Yeah I have the tab pinned on both computers, same with my email and all messaging clients I use. Ideally maybe they release a chrome extension so I don't need to do that, but I don't think chrome extensions have the notification indicator.
