Never for me, but I should look into it. I despise doing this on my phone I could do on machine with full screen and mouse/keyboard.
Should I install the 11 update on my Pixel 3a? Just wondering if there have been any usability problems...and I'm too lazy to Reddit, etc.
Is there a way to get the 2 button navigation back? I'm not a really a fan of the 3 button, but I also dislike solely using gestures.
Saw that. Any advantage to 5G mmWave? From what I read it looks like the 5S and 5 may be different. 5S costs $100 more, and may be 5G mmWave compatible. I've paid little attention to 5G so know very little about it. Doesn't seem like it's going to matter too much.
i want to say battery life on Android 11 is better, but i'm not too sure. i took it off charge at 7:15 this morning, and have 5 hrs of screen time, mostly chrome, and i'm at 45%
I am the same. But I will find out for damn sure when I go into work tomorrow and use the phone away from home and not having it sit on a wireless charger all day.
What do yall use for texting? My google Messenger has completely stopped working with iPhone users. Thought the Android 11 update would have worked but the wife sent me 10 text yesterday and I got none of them.
No I've had an android for awhile. I am just not receiving text messages from iPhone users on the Google Messenger app.
I ask because there have been numerous cases of people switching from iPhone to Android where other iPhones keep sending imessages and not texts. So the person on Android never gets them. I use Pulse but I think there's something bigger at play here.
im still clinging to hangouts google been threatening to disable it for a year or two now but they've never released the supposed replacement
When you say Google Messenger...Do you mean "Messages" .....full name of Messages by Google"? Here is the current icon. It is preloaded on pretty much all android phones, with a billion installs. I also have problems with voicemails and occasionally texts, but I consider them network related and not Android or app related.
I know its highly dependent on device and individual user, but what are you fellow flagship (esp Pixel XL) users getting for these two battery measurements? Screen on Time I usually only get ~3 or so hours on my Pixel 2 XL and 3 XL "Full charge lasts about" Seems to always be about 1 day + a few hours, roughly 24-28. TIA
Pixel 2 XL 3 hrs screen on time If I'm at work: recharge every 5 hours after taking it off the charger (I'm not kidding) If I'm at home: ~12-15 hours after taking it off the charger. P4a was supposed to be delivered today but FedEx fucked it up. Now being delivered tomorrow.
2XL I plug mine in constantly if I'm near a charger(car, work, home) so no idea. Phone is still getting along pretty good, best I've ever owned. Pretty excited about the 5/5s though.
The Pixel 4a on Fi can't use Sprint for calls/texts. It can, however, use Sprints data. That kind of fucks me a bit since my phone only works on Sprint at work.
Agreed. Today is my first day at work with this phone and I've been having issues. Searched Reddit and everyone has the same issue. I'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional on Google's part.
Ok, let me try this again. I ordered a Pixel 4a through Google Fi. Google Fi uses both Tmo and Sprints networks. Normally, you can use both Sprint and Tmo for talk/text and data. The Pixel 4a is not able to utilize Sprints talk/text network. This is not a good thing to me since I can only get service at work through Sprint. Essentially, if you are on Google Fi and mostly utilize Sprints network steer clear of the Pixel 4a.
I mean that's a bug or some weird issue related to sprint/tmo merger and tower/technology mergers. I'm inclined to think its the former. When you use the Fi switcher app, it still doesn't work?
So I guess I ca get the note 5g through att for free right now with the promotion. I have a pixel 2 XL worth it?
Anyone have a 3a and just updated to 11? My battery life sucks (well, at least relative to 10), and the apps look to all be the same regarding optimization, etc.
Anyone having issues with blackberry uem (work email) and android 11? I can't change my security back to pin/fingerprint without completing deleting the work profile and my battery is constantly draining
Oh shit they got Netflix to get in on the cross platform integration stuff with the search. Does it track your progress so I can just start watching the next episode of whatever I am watching from the Home Screen? I like that aspect of the Apple TV app but Netflix never signed on for that. And does it have HBO Max or Peacock?
