http://www.twitch.tv/teamfortresstv we're in the finals, brothers third map, tied 1-1 froyotech (US) vs. nerdrage (EU) shit is going to be great
I'm really diggin' the game now that BrickTamland got me into the online/pvp aspect, only got to play 2 games today but won both bringing the record up to 3-5, I'll get there!
I can see why you guys have thousands of hours on this shit, pretty addicting. 2-1 tonight, but I just want to keep going. But GF aggro and what not.
miles and you are neck and neck for newbie of the week... But I've got to put him ahead since he just rocked a windranger game with me and friedskillet.
Yeah, I was watching you guys. You dominated as Slark. I'm assuming all those green things all over the map were from Skillet? That's some good vision.
Yup. Treant's aghanim scepter upgrade allows him to place permanent vision around any tree on the map. With all that information I could just run (Slark moves incredibly fast) undetected and pick off anyone silly enough to farm a lane or jungle by themselves. Also allowed me to split push a tower with full vision of their team.
I'm really on a major slide, 4 game losing streak. 6-10 now. I'l have to put Riki on the back burner until I get better at this game. First moba and all.
It's almost as if multiple people have told you not to play him yet. You'll develop bad habits and not be punished when you should.
Blame friedskillet , he gave me a sweet Riki set that made me want to play him. Ended up on a 4 game win streak to end the night, 2 Bloodseeker, 1 Juggernaut, 1 Riki. I need to find a couple new heroes to play.
I hear ya, right now I'm only using Bloodseeker, Riki, Juggernaut, and Phantom Assassin. Agility carries I guess. I look up hero guides all day at work trying to find new heroes I want to try. I should probably get myself familiar with at least 1 support too.
you should watch Purge videos if you want to learn new heroes. he's real good at explaining shit in them
I watch some of his vids at work. Watch streams, read guides, look at people's builds on dotabuff. I try to take in as much info as possible. Right now I'm looking at Legion Commander and Bristleback, they seem fun and different from what I've been doing somewhat. Also, I'm curious about jungling? The games at my low level, my team is usually 5 carries, I've thought about trying to jungle someone like Ursa but not sure if that's bad to the team. Leaving someone in a solo lane at that skill level. Thoughts?
Jungling is all about efficiency, and Ursa jungle isn't very efficient. The most efficient junglers are difficult to play micro heroes and greedy supports.
Yeah, no micro heroes for me. I need simple. Need to work on last hitting the most, looking at my dotabuff I'm only at about 25 lh/10. Heard I should be double that.
Don't worry about jungling for a while. To do it right you need to get in, get your first item (usually mek or blink) and boots as fast as possible, then gtfo to rotate/gank/pressure towers/create space so your carries can farm it.
Found my next hero to try, use go be OP last patch from what I understand. Troll Warlord. Still good, can solo rosh early, and fits my style so far. Gives me a little practice with ranged too if I need to toggle it.
Probably at your high MMR, but I'm like a 1k noob. (hope not worse...) Troll can do some work down here in the trench.
SingSing's stack just lost again. Out of the qualifiers. Alliance about to play, some good doto going on.
Vengeful spirit and Lich are the most straight forward supports. I would not suggest playing hard support roles in extremely low skill brackets though. It's bad enough at my shitty mmr.
Starting to hate bloodseeker even when it's on my own team A guy on my team last night racked up 10 kills in about 10 minutes and then basically never left the opposing base until he had 35 and we had won. Was the opposite of fun
Yeah, I might look into someone like OmniKnight. I feel more comfortable melee atm. My Lich games have not gone well.
I hear ya dude, out of my 20 games only 2 have been support. I'll probably force carry where I'm at for a while. But I do plan on getting familiar with some supports in bot matches.
