The Jags do this shit every week. Fall behind by 3-4 scores and then come back. I have zero doubt the Jags will get back into this one... but with our luck probably not
If we cut Drew Brees before June 1 then we will have $10 million in dead money, but create $20 million in cap space. He better agree to restructure his contract or he's done.
I think we sign Brees to 3 year extension / restructure. Payton I'm not sure... Seems like a lot of smoke to the he's out rumors
http://www.nba.com/pelicans/news/statement-pelicans-owner-tom-benson TL;DR: Times-Picayune writes that Benson should sell the Saints/Pelicans for benefit of city. Benson responds back to them in the above. T-P's original article, they've yet to post Benson's response. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2015/12/selling_saints_pelicans_greate.html Anybody think Gayle Benson would move the team?
Gayle? I don't think she would move the teams... But Duncan is a hack, and the TP is grasping for readers putting that front page
New Orleans Saints: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Sean Payton is looking at potential jobs elsewhere in case he is dismissed, and the San Diego Chargers would be a possibility if the job opens. CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora adds the Chargers would be looking for a proven NFL head coach if they make a change.
I'd be shocked too but money is never an object for the Cowboys, especially now when they feel like the Romo window is rapidly closing
and it's no secret Jerry has always wanted Payton, and Payton has a thing for Dallas...like his kids are there, his house is there. I'm 50/50 on if Payton comes back. I think Brees will be back. I hope Loomis is moved to more of a management role for both teams, president of Benson Sports Operations or something like that- he is the GM for both right now, and both suck. Just because I don't think he gets the axe from both...although I wouldn't be against it.
So much this. It makes no fucking sense that he's employed at both positions. I still like Payton, but I think it's time for both sides to move on. And fuck you Falcons. At least we still got that trophy during Payton's tenure.
I'm of the opinion that in the first couple of rounds you take the best player available, and I think that Treadwell is a true difference maker.
No. I think Gayle pushes the New Orleans angle harder than Tom. Tom grew up a business man. Gayle could give a fuck and is more worried about the community. They just gave another $20M to Ochsner (after an original $5M) and Gayle really pushes that, she actually has first billing on the name (Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center). I hope the last check that Tom ever writes bounces. Fuck Rita.
I know that for big picture purposes we need to lose this game but I still jumped out of my seat at that INT
you don't pass up on a player like Treadwell. If he's there you take him, but he won't be. It's easier to improve a defense quicker via free agency than through the draft.
@ProFootballTalk: If Sean Payton is leaving New Orleans, he won't be going to Miami, per league source.
Yeah I'm not sure Payton is leaving unless Jerry sends us some picks. That's about the only spot that makes sense to me
Sigh. We really don't know how to tank. We play good, not great, down the stretch and give everyone cautious optimism for next year and we'll still proceed to come out of the gate with a 1-3 record or some such shit.
If Brandon Browner is not the first phone call we make to tell him to fuck the hell off I sweartagawd
I'm ok with him being on the team with a new DC - I think it'd cost us more to cut him so might as well play him where he needs to be. A small LB in nickel / dime situations.
Requesting a 2nd rd pick for Payton. Don't really like that as I'm sure we would more than likely fuck that up.
I'm really not sure, I've been so checked out on this team for a while... I want to say I read an article that said it'd cost us money to cut him. Prorated cap hit of some kind...but I really don't know for sure. If we can save more than 1 million, then cut him.
