The Strain

One of the main reasons for my love of this show is it's during the down season of shows and sports. During fall sports season, can't see myself getting into it nearly as much.

 

It starts after college football starts.

 

I know, worded it poorly. Saying I don't like that it starts when it does this year.

 

Mhmmm how long can they keep this story line inside NYC? Seems like the zombies should have been able to leave by this point with how easily they run around unchecked

 

Have you read the books?

 

I have not, are they better than the show?

 

Yes and no. They're written by the guys doing the show so the show for the most part follows them pretty close. They're very good though.

Ugh... My DVR has been stupid lately. It didn't record the last episode.

Show is so much cooler than walking dead, hopefully they get to finish it.

so do you think all the ancients got annihilated? This season has been awesome. Best apocalyptic type show on TV. Infinitely better than the walking dead shows.

I don't always pay attention the best, but yes, I enjoy the show.

 

They have fast forwarded it but it's still very good. It's like Game of Thrones. Yes they changed some things from the books, but it's still very enjoyable. I can see next season being the last at the pace they're on.

 

Yes. There were 3 in the old country aka Europe/ Eurasia and then 3 sent to the new world.

 

i wonder if the master is the strongest of all the ancients. and why are the ancients just hibernating and why can't they talk -why do they talk through the other guy

 

I love the majority of the good guys.

Gus, Angel, Mr. Quinlan, Setrakian, Fet are all great. Not sure I care what happens to Dutch or Ephraim at this point though.

 

I like Ephraim, that guy who plays him is a good actor.

Yes. It starts quick, but can drag. It does give you a lot of background.

so the cargo was a nuke and not an ancient? i'm guessing eikorst survived somehow. not much happened that episode. crazy all the new world ancients died.

not as bad as i expected

there aren't really any characters that i hate like with other tv shows

 

nevermind, Nora's mom fucking sucks

 

Its definitely a show that improves more and more as the storyline progresses.

 

Wait until the kid gets more screentime and then gets replaced with an even worse kid actor.

 

yeah i kind of had this feeling that they'd walking dead that kid's role and just make him awful

Season was great though, best by far.

Also the kid is easily my #1 most despised character on network TV

That's fucking it. Somehow...they managed to take the insufferable shit from the book and make him even fucking worse. I'm officially done with this show. Unforgivable.
