Cool. I'm in the LBC and can get to the DT one relatively easily, so let me know and I would be down to meet up for a few brews. Another good beer bar/restaurant I like is in Belmont Shore where I am is Simmzy's if you want to try somewhere else for lunch or dinner. Let me know if you need any recs as I am from OC and moved up to LB a few months ago.
Well this is delicious. So much flavor. marcus go ahead and sign me up for all Jackie O's releases. K thanks
If I had to choose between the 2 I would choose the BA Wood Burner but this is fantastic too. Going to age the other one
Yay I've talked everyone I'm going to Asheville with into standing in line for the Maceo release. Things are looking up.
construxboy I'll be in Charlotte next week at some point for lunch and a Noda trip. They have anything canned right now I should be looking out for except Hop Drop?
Dear friend, As a true-blue Dark Lord fan, I hope that bottle of '12 is okay. However, if not, I hope you like sour-bitter green apples.
I like sour apple blow pops. If it's terrible I'll just pretend I have a much more refined palate that everyone else and was able to pick up the nuances of the flavor still and give it a 5.
Honestly I'll either throw in it for a vertical if I can set one up with others or just end up trading it.
Few meetings tomorrow is all that stands between me and a 4 day weekend. Is it bad that I couldn't wait one more day?
went to Creature Comforts. Sadly, they were out of the Watermelon Gose. I consoled myself by drinking lots of Athena.
Holy balls at this lineup for Firestone Walker's beer fest: Jester King can f right off w/ their list though. It appears they are bringing salty water and their worst saison to date. Thanks, guys!
I hear David Walker has to practically get on his hands an knees to beg breweries to come. I'm sure he knows now to bust out some Florida/Georgia Line serenade to win their trust and admiration. Maybe next year. It sucks, but I'll settle for some Side Project instead of getting to try the greatest IPA of all time!
Something here is not like the others... ...it's Devil's Backbone..... It's not worthy of that company.
it's now to the point where I can't tell if you guys can tell that my tongue is planted firmly in cheek for a lot of what I post re: Georgia stuff... oh well. I like beer. Beer likes me.
well, not quite accurate... I post a lot just for the backlash. yes, I'm debating myself, as it looks here. left the previous one up for posterity. like I said before, I like beer.
Live by this motto: Relax. It's just beer. Restart your computer and the sarcasm meter may work again.
Almost pulled the trigger on a 1/6 of Foothills Hoppyum. Going to kicking myself this weekend for not doing it.
Guy me and bryix work with gave me this today. He called it a "Pliny clone". I've never had Pliny but this is quite tasty
never had Pliny either. his brew had a bit of a plastic-y taste at the end, but that hop schedule is ridiculous.
I went to the taco Mac by my hotel, it's raging because of the hawks game. Decent tap list...and I'm taking it easy tonight anyway. Hitting the porter tomorrow afternoon as soon as my meeting is over.
The Porter is fucking ridiculous. If you get a chance, swing by Wrecking Bar... 'bout a half mile down the road. Amazing brewpub. Food is delicious. It's in a gorgeous old house. That said, The Porter is solid as fuck in terms of food.
I think I stumbled in there last time I was down here - seemed like a cool place. They had a sour on that wasn't bad.
kennypowers Opened another one. Over carbonated, but not ruined in my mind. Pretty good once it de-fizzes and warms up. Not as good as originally expected of course.
I refer to tropicalia as richticalia, which is clearly a joke. We all know tropicalia is much more disappointing than richt.
