I'm lucky that stores here didn't hike the price up anymore than it already was. Rare was $60 and regular was $10. We don't get the rest until next week do to label issues or something like that.
shit damn, Southern Brewing is great. nothing better than being buddies with the owner of a brewery. so many free beers! plus, they have the only foeder in Georgia. and they're doing puncheon open fermentation with local wild yeasts. good things coming down the line.
neighbors brought me lots of Asheville beers for feeding their cats for two days. nothing spectacular, but can't turn down two six packs and two bombers for basically no effort whatsoever
So this year's El Cat beers were kinda meh huh? Was hoping for a barreled Huna to finish. Will still sign up for next year though.
Failed in getting BCBS in San Diego. Of the few that got some, friends n family got theirs first, then the rest was first come-first serve.. no way in hell i was lining up overnight.
Looking for a top level IPA to get someone as a gift. Something not available in the midwest but that I could feasibly get without herculean effort. Any suggestions? That may be an impossible request.
is BCBS retail price even before mark up just stupid high still? haven't even looked for it out here yet
Yes. For most places here it has been $10-$11 per bottle which is about double the price per bottle from last year but they only added about a third more liquid. And for the Regal i saw prices around $22 which is about the same as vanilla rye last year but with 5 less ounces. But hey, if you're goose island and you know your product will fly off the shelves why not mark it up
i wish thats what it was like. Down in my area, only a handful of stores got some. I read that some grocery stores got some and put no limits.. so of course they got bought out. A liquor store I frequent that has a pretty good selection of craft beer said that the distro down here is all politics with things like BCBS. North County San Diego was catered to the most and gets the most variants where down south would get standard BCBS and maybe 1 variant. shit sucks.
ISO GOOSE ISLAND TO RELEASE BOURBON COUNTY MOST RAREST IN 2016 CHICAGO- Goose Island announces Bourbon County Brand Stout Most Rarest for 2016. This coveted craft brew has been undergoing a one-of-a-kind oak aging process inside the original pegleg of the historical Captain Ahab for over 150 years. “The pegleg has been in my family since 1851,” said Brewmaster Greg Hall, “My ancestors instinctually knew there was only one thing this artifact was meant for- aging craft beer.” The bottle release will be limited to 1 single bottle, but it is not known yet how it will be put up for sale. Insiders say it may be sold as part of a charity auction, or it may simply be sent to a semi-popular beer retailer, whose competitors say, “Doesn’t deserve it.” Mr. Hall’s tasting notes for this penultimate beer include hints of sea salt and nub. ‘The White Whale,’ as it has lovingly been nicknamed around AB-InBev headquarters, also reportedly has “Blow this out your hole, Sam Calagione” carved into its wooden vessel, sure to increase trade value amongst internet denizens.
