It shouldn't be hard to get them during the day on Friday. Last year was the first season Uber was around during football. The surges can get a little ridiculous at peak times (nighttime at various times, especially around 2 AM when the bars close will be worst, and before/after the game) but I don't recall having any issues ever just getting one. If you're planning on taking a taxi or Uber to the stadium I would recommend leaving at least 2 hours before kickoff. Worst case, it's about a 2 mile walk from your hotel to the stadium. You'll want to walk from the stadium downtown after the game. It's about 1.5 miles but a good way to see some of the campus if you're interested in seeing any of that. Traffic is usually nightmarish right after games so I absolutely would not plan to Uber away from the stadium.
Was in Seattle this past weekend, stopped by Fremont Brewery twice, probably my favorite brewery out there. They're in the middle of their "Field to Ferment" season, a 'fresh hop pale ale.' It was absolutely delicious. From their website: FIELD TO FERMENT Brewing is the craft of blending science with artistry then introducing the mystical. Field to Ferment exemplifies this adventure. We will brew this fresh hop ale throughout the entire hop harvest in Yakima using each of four hop varieties as they are harvested. At least that’s the plan. Nature may have a different plan. Such is the harvest. In order of harvest, we will brew with fresh Centennial, Simcoe,™ Citra,™ and finally Mosaic™ hops. Field to Ferment represents a colossal collaboration between the brewery and our hop farmers. No one has attempted to brew fresh hop beers throughout the entire season. Please do enjoy this beer absolutely fresh, and enjoy the adventure this beer represents.
Highlights from the day: 2014 expedition stout And this tasty treat And about 10 founders pc pils. Not quite at FW pivo level for me, but damn close. At $15 for a 15 pack, I will be drinking a lot of this.
was up in Portland this weekend and came across some cans was very good, always enjoy fresh hop season
are any of the seasonal pumpkin beers worth a shit? took a hard look at the dogfish head punkin but didnt get it
Southern Tier Pumking? Thought it was horrifically sweet the first time I had it but have come around. I don't think it's made it out nationally yet but I'd imagine eventually AB will get the Four Peaks Pumpkin Porter from AZ out.
We finally got a hold of them. We will be ordering a couple of your beers on our next order. Your rep brought us some samples. Love the midnight espresso cans.
Funky Pumpkin by Boulevard is kinda cool since it's a brett. I got a bottle of Good Gourd from CCB and I'm excited to try that. I just normally don't like pumpkin beers.
Fantastic. Spoke with our rep about that today. Glad you finally hooked up with the distributor and stoked you love Midnight Espresso, it's one of my favorites.

The Lost Abbey will be pouring Cuvee de Tomme and Madonna with Child. I'm probably most looking forward to allagash, perennial, casey, side project, and SARA. Kinda hoping there's at least a couple palate cleansers there, as this is gonna be a lot of sour/funky beer. But I suppose I'll deal with it!
Well, the Zwanze day at JP was pretty epic. They definitely over-prepared and had less people than expected. Zwanze was the only thing that ran out - like all the Cantillon, all the amazing other beers were still pouring when we left. Allagash resurgam had about a pallet of unopened bottles that was going to have to be sent back. It was insane - no lines at all. I mean, it came at a cost...but it was pretty spectacular. Would have been cool if they had a few more palate cleansing non-sour beers available (like, it's kind of a travesty to have creature comforts come up without trop) - but all in all, what a day.
There are so many great beers that I didn't try. Additional tickets were only $2, but at some point with all that sour/funky beer just destroyed the palate.
The Zwanze day here at Trillium sold out in a few hours. I am sure it was a crowded affair today. The beers look phenomenal
Opened a Love Child #6 tonight. Not impressed. I've had several of 3-5 (team 4), but am horribly let down by 6. It's acrid.
I suppose I deserve this for grabbing it but the Sam Adams Bonfire Blonde in their fall variety tastes like liquid cigarette ashes. I've drain poured very few beers in my time but that shit was awful. Gf wouldn't even drink it (yea, I'm an ass and tried to pass it off on her).
I live 5 blocks from the Sam Adams complex and I rarely drink anything they put out now. They do great work for the smaller brewers but are afraid to go truly hold with their choices and play too safe.
Does anyone know where I could get a 6-pack of Bell's Hopslam right now? It's out of season and won't be back until January or February, but I am trying to acquire some quickly to help woo a female. I didn't know if there were some underground beer exchange sites to check or what.
Hopslam is best enjoyed fresh. Any hopslam you acquire right now would be a disgusting malt bomb. Someone in here might can send you some fresh Pliny or Heady or some Tree House IPAs or something that would be even more impressive and actually taste good.
At a local place in Dallas that currently has 40 sours on draft. This is what I've gotten so far in my flight: Mikeller Spontanframboos The Bruery Tart of Darkness (sour stout) Jolly Pumpkin Cucurbitophobia Green Flash Natra Morta Boysenberry Sam Adams CMF Grand Cru The Mikeller and Green Flash are probably my favorites. I am in heaven
I've had Hopslam before and just thought it was okay. I told a friend I would try to get some for her.
It's cool to not like Hopslam itt, ignore them. But seriously I'm sure there's someone who can hook you up with some other big name DIPAs if you don't want to wait 4 months. I know Pliny the Elder is pretty easy for some of the cali folks
Glad to see the Pumpkin craze is dying off. The I stopped at 3 place on the way home for the wife so she could get her Pumpkin beer on. Everywhere had the same Sam Adams 20 lbs of pumpkin or something that was completely overpriced ($60/case).
I'm going to be in Nashville & Portland for a few days each next week. Where / what should I drink? TIA.
Cascade is in Portland, obviously a must stop. de Garde is an hour outside of Portland in Tillamook, really beautiful drive and area and fantastic beer. Belmont Station is a great place grab a beer and shop for bottles in Portland.
Commons Brewery is a couple blocks over from Cascade so definitely go there as well. Apex Beer Bar had a pretty impressive tap list so check that out, beware that it is cash only. It's also right across the street from a small bottle shop called Beer Mongers which had some pretty decent stuff
