H/T definitely hit up Porter and Burnt Hickory. also buy some fresh A Night On Ponce from 3 Taverns. Low key near-Tropicalia.
Was it Chris? Because he hooked it up at good bottle. I'll be back in a few weeks.. if not permanently.
Greenville is cool, Charlotte is better. Both have good access to a lot of other cool places when you have free time. Good luck
Yeah, man. Chris is owner & we hook it up good. Rion is dude I was telling you about though & he is at Triple C now.
Greenvilles on my short list when we move in 1.5yrs its a good small city in an awesome location to hit Asheville/Charleston/Charlotte/Atlanta when you get tired of Greenville stuff kind of a raise kids type city, also still really cheap compared to other SE cities on the rise
So does anyone have some Spotted Cow I can trade for or buy? I'm a bourbon guy but would love to get some.
it's decent, but it's a cream ale. tastes like a really good domestic lager. New Glarus has much better offerings
I mean, I'd gladly send you some if I had it. I have some co-workers that are from Wisconsin that bring me all kinds of New Glarus awesomeness on occasion. If you like sours (these aren't really sour...more tart, really) I'd thoroughly suggest you try their Wisconsin Belgian Red, Serendipity, or Raspberry Tart. Mind-blowing 5 beers, right there.
I second Raspberry Tart. The Apple is pretty good, too, although not as tart (more like a good pie). They have a Cranberry that is outstanding, too. You really cannot go wrong with anything of theirs. New Glarus doesn't do anything fancy with their beers. They just make outstanding examples of common beers. Nothing will blow your socks off, but you also won't ever have a bad beer.
Going to Odd Side tonight to pick up some BA Mayan Mocha Stout and Hazel's Nuts. Trying to decide how much I want (I have two tickets; so can get more than I'd drink in a year). Anyone interested in a trade, dollar-for-dollar, for similarly tasty regional releases? PM me if you are. I generally don't do beer trades (and don't really want to get involved with folks on other boards) so wanted to see what kind of interest there may be in trading for these specifically. No idea, I've stopped drinking. Really only in state stuff I like is scratchtown, upstreams reserve stuff and Farnham house, but that's really more about getting their burger with a Berliner Weisse and whatever syrup they have for it that week. JacobPalmer
Get home tonight from a night out with my wife Babysitter: I had one of your beers. Hope that's ok. Me: oh yeah no problem, what'd you have? Babysitter: I'm not sure. It was in the door. It was good but a little strong so I didn't finish it. I look in the trash and it's a born yesterday
Todd Haug, the brewmaster from Surly, is joining 3 Floyds. http://mspmag.com/eat-and-drink/foodie/brewer-todd-haug-goes-to-chigolands-three-floyds/ I guess there was more dirty laundry there than I ever realized.
Rabid Junkyard Brewing in Moorhead is real good if you ever find yourself out that way or they distribute to the Twin Cities.
Thanks. I've never heard of it before now. The website says they aren't distributing kegs yet because the tap room consumes all they can make. I'll take note though in case they increase capacity and start shipping beer our way.
I'll still answer your question though. Boiler is definitely legit and they are putting out new stuff constantly which is nice. Only downside is they don't distribute really at all but their taproom is kinda cool and they have like 15-20 of their own beers on tap at any time.
long time no post... I haven't really been buying, trading, or drinking much other than local stuff, but this "juicy" IPA trend hitting the West Coast is fuckin legit. This Modern Times stuff, plus others they haven't canned is so damn good. I hope you all are enjoying brews often and finding new faves.
and which TMB'r was involved with Casa Agria again? My dad went to visit a friend in Oxnard, so I sent his ass the address to the brewery and told him to grab any bottles available! But he said he couldn't help but drink first and then forgot to buy my bottles!
Long fucking day at work but got to see the Ozil goal.. Can't wait to get home and get juiced up on some Trillium
Phew... Here's to the end of a 12 hour work day Our latest collaboration with our Scandinavian friends at Amager Bryghus. Inspired by traditional Danish wheat bread, this beer incorporates stone ground whole wheat flour in the mash to create a rustic, bready character. For layered complexity, we added tangerine peel and raw wildflower honey into the whirlpool followed by a double dry hop of Citra/Amarillo. Candied orange, lemon and freshly baked bread permeate the nose. Flavors of tangerine peel, grape and rustic bread emerge on the palate, rounded out by a crisp and balanced finish
Karbach brewing in Houston announced today that they have been bought by Anhueser-Busch. The backlash from the Houston beer community has been very harsh. The two best beer bars have already announced fire sales of all Karbach brews and stopped all future business with them.
I forgot to post my recent Friday evening. Surly Abrasive (Double IPA) Summit Coffee Milk Stout Castle Danger Mosaic (Fresh Hop) IPA
