The TMB Good Beer Thread

Not the most glamourous or highly rated bourbon aged stout, but it is quite good considering it is easy to find and not expensive.

 

Was pleasantly surprised by BA Dogfather. $8 for for a decent BA beer is hard to beat.

 

If I go it will probably after lunch or something. In laws are coming over tonight for dinner and to watch the UK game so have to go early.

 

IGetBuckets - shipment arrived safe and sound. I'll get a pic up later! Looks incredible.

 

Did a group beer swap on BA and had our tasting last night. 9 of us finished everything on the table. I feel like death today.

Hahahaha. Maybe I'll head up to Santa Rosa with a beer bong today to see if I can throw some Younger in there.

I've been dying to get some HT, and Brocktoon just gets to shotgun that shit. That just doesn't seem fair.

 

Shotgunning HT seems like a waste.

Happened upon a bottle of BCBS Cherry Rye yesterday. Nice surprise.

 

I the box was sent to us by a group of guys from New Jersey. We also had a growler of Head High from Kane Brewing that was pretty good.

 

I would guess that he said that to fuck with everyone in here.

I had deep fried, bacon wrapped homemade mac n cheese and some crazy hot dog with taco meat, chipotle aioli and shit from a food truck there last night.

They are opening a restaurant, though. Supposed to be just up the street from where they are currently at.

 

Having been there a couple times so far I have realized they really need to expand their parking.

 

Also, not sure if the folks who haven't visited Cigar City yet know about this, but it's located within walking distance to Mons Venus and 2001 Odyssey.

Talked to my beer guy there he said they had a damn 1.5 hour line outside before the release at 2...that is fockin dumb as shit.

Nevertheless...called him after seeing said tweet after I got off of work and he said he had me covered and held me 2 sixers back

It tastes exactly like you think it would taste. I didn't enjoy it at all. It's also a big running joke on Beer Advocate, so that's why they threw it in.

 

Ok I just had to make sure. The description of it sounded awful.

 

The only place around me that has this was charging $32/6-pack. Is it worth it?

Find some good beer in your area at a reasonable price, and then find someone on here to trade with to get some HS. There should be enough guys with HS to be able to help you out.

 

I am in the DC area, so there are plenty of places that should have it according to the Bell's website, but I might just have to go out of my way. I knew $32 was way too much but wasn't sure what the usual price is.

That is the worst I've seen for Hopslam wow. But it's likely due to living in the DC area. It's $18-20 a sixer here and that is standard.

Went to Cigar City last night and tried their Ghost Stories. I'd never had (or heard of) a Braggot before, but this was really good. Think I might run back today or tomorrow and grab a bottle.

 

Hot girls in Greens giving out Budweisers new Black whatever the shit is new beer from them samples asked me if I wanted to try it as I'm checking out Hopslam

 

That shit is like Hopslam to most Nebraskans. Everyone just thinks it's the coolest thing.

 

Yup. That Heady Topper stuff ain't all bad.

 

My inlaws are old and suck. They live in Tampa 6 months out of the year, so I asked them to go to Hunahpu Day for me. They really didn't want to stand in line for too long because theyre old, so i was told no. Instead i asked them to swing by any other day and id give them a shopping list. They told me theyd think about it.
