Abe, Daryl, and Sasha are shown outside the compound, driving down a road, and they get pulled over by some bikers.

Head guy tells them to handover their weapons and stuff because it now belongs to Negan.

Yeah, that was atrocious. I let some of the iffy shit in the early part of the season slide because I thought we'd be getting a decent payoff in the mid-season finale and instead it's just more build up. Just fucking do it already. What happens once they go into the herd and Sam keeps calling for his mom was filmed in the summer along with the rest of the first half of the season. They pushed it back for some unknown reason and with how that ended tonight they may have wimped out and changed it all.

Here's what was filmed in the summer according to TheSpoilingDead...

Sam gets grabbed, mom tries to save him, won't let go of Carl, Rick uses hatchet to cut her arm off, Ron gets mad, goes to shoot Rick, Carl blocks him and takes a shot to the eye.

So now that they delayed it who knows what they're going to keep or change.

I doubt they change it much if at all, if that's what they filmed, since that's essentially what happens in the comics.

Definitely very similar to the comic. But it was filmed for the mid-season finale and got pushed for some reason. Now we have to wait 3 months.

Why was the dumb dr chick locked in the room with the wolf? His hands are just tied he could have just hopped up and beat her to death seeing that he suppose to be insane. The Morgan plot line might be the dumbest thing I have ever watched. Just glad it didn't get carol killed just hope she doesn't change and become a bitch like Morgan. And her tripping and almost dying was so bad I actually did lol.

Carl getting popped essentially in the head would have been an even bigger cliffhanger.

Morgan and wannabe doctor girl were going in there right as the tower collapsed in episode 7 so that's how that happened.

And 100% agree with the Carol falling thing. I was just like, oh, Carol's a typical girl in a scary movie now falling down as the threat is chasing her for no reason whatsoever. Cute.

I absolutely fucking hate how this whole thing between Carol and Morgan is going down. I respect the whole "peaceful" way of life that Morgan is trying to achiever; however, it's a fucking zombie apocalypse. They fight and fight, and now guess what? This fucktard is about to fuck all their shit up!

Robert Kirkman was on Talking Dead and an audience member actually asked why they don't do the guys thing all the time, and he basically said it just isn't really feasible as an all the time thing. Said the guts would dry out and you'd need to constantly be replenishing them and that constant contact with zombie innards is a disease factory in waiting.

Just finished. Quite possibly the shittiest episode of the series so far. Definitely had the most cringeworthy moments.

    - "You grow a hell of a beard"
    - Carl telling that other kid his dad was an asshole.
    - Virtually everything that happened between Carol and Morgan.
    - Rick walking in on Deanna. "I just wanted to see her one last time but my legs gave out on me."
    - Youngest son might be the worst child actor I've ever seen.
    - The new doctor lady is a fucking worthless character.

Fuck me for watching this still.

In a newly unsealed deposition given in his big profits lawsuit against AMC, ousted The Walking Dead creatorFrank Darabont holds nothing back, blasting executives at the cable network for hiding in air-conditioned offices, talking how he had to manage a crisis at the beginning of the second season of the hit zombie show, and discussing the "concocted" reasons for his firing.

Darabont and his agents at CAA are pursuing claims that AMC breached his contract and deprived him of tens of millions of dollars in profits from the hit series by making a sweetheart deal licensing the show to itself. Most recently, the case has turned its attention to whether AMC rightfully reduced his profit share as he left the show in the middle of the second season. Darabont claims he rendered showrunner services on all second season episodes.

In his deposition, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Darabont talks about the early days of the show, saying that despite the massive ratings success of Walking Dead, AMC created budget problems for the series. (Read in full here.)

Darabont says, "I remember Joel Stillerman [president of original programming and development for AMC], in a meeting in my office, when we were all discussing the issues of the upcoming season, we said to him, 'Surely that the success of the show, which, by the way, you guys are bragging about because we keep getting e-mails saying, 'Hey, we're breaking viewership records in 120 countries around the world by hundreds of percent, in some countries by over 1,000%,' at the same time we're hearing how successful the show is for you, you're telling us that this, this budget issue is not going to budge at all. And he said, 'The success of the show has no bearing on this discussion,' in a rather icy manner."

According to Darabont, AMC cut the budget "from 3.4 to 3," referring to the millions it takes to produce episodes of Walking Dead.

"That was bad enough, but then they dropped the bomb on us that, oh by the way, they're keeping the tax credit," he testified. "They're going to pocket the tax credit. So, between the two you've got a full 25% cut across the board."

Darabont said this hurt the cast and crew, who he described as "busting their butts, leaving it all on the field, to earn."

In the deposition, he is particularly harsh on AMC executives.

"When they did rarely show up on the [Georgia-based] set, [they] would... drive in from the airport in their air conditioned car, race into the air conditioned tent we had there so the actors could have a break and not pass out from the heat, poke their heads out on occasion, and half an hour later jump back in their car and fly back to their air conditioned office in New York. I had a tremendous lack of respect for them."

Darabont thinks the AMC executives should have "put on some combat boots" to see the cast and crew working in 110-degree heat and "pick[ing" ticks off their groin and their ankles at night."

The problems escalated, according to Darabont, who said he was managing "crisis-level problems arising on the first episode of the second season."

The footage turned in by the director for that episode wasn't up to snuff, he says, so he told the executives that he would have to step away from the writers' room, where they were attempting to develop the latter episodes of the second season of Walking Dead in order to shoot additional footage and put focus in the editing room.

Darabont says this led to a conversation with Susie Fitzgerald, vp of scripted programming. He asked her whether she agreed with this approach. He recalls her saying, "Absolutely I agree with your assessment. You have to do the crisis management. I understand that that's going to delay those scripts coming in by three weeks."

Later, Fitzgerald apparently denied having the conversation.

Darabont said her denial floored him.

"So, she out and out just lied to my face in front of everybody," he testified. "I can prove that because after the meeting I went back to the editing room to tell my editor to finish up a few things there that day anyway that needed finishing and to tell my editor what had happened."

As for why Darabont says he was fired, executives "concocted" a reason, he testified.

"They accused me of not having directors tone meetings," he said, referring to the way in which a showrunner is supposed to sit down with each director of each episode to go over the script — scene by scene — and convey the tone of the show. "And I said, 'That's absolutely not true, I have had a directors tone meeting with every single director this season."

Though his attorney now argue he played a role on all the second season episodes, Darabont did acknowledge during his examination that he wasn't providing full-time showrunner services after July 27, 2011.

An AMC gave THR this statement about Darabont's testimony: "Frank Darabont has made it clear that he has strong opinions about AMC and the events that led to his departure from The Walking Dead. The reality is that he has been paid millions of dollars under the terms of his contract, which we honored, and we will continue to vigorously defend against this lawsuit."Darabont's deposition isn't alone to go public.

Glen Mazzara, who once worked on The Shield before becoming Darabont's top lieutenant on Walking Deadand taking over the showrunning duties in the middle of the second season before leaving after the third, also testifies.

Asked whether AMC treated Darabont unfairly, Mazzara answered yes.

Mazzara added, "I believe that Frank was executing his responsibilities and duties as showrunner and there was a personal rift between [Walking Dead co-creator Robert] Kirkman and Darabont and between Darabont and the AMC executives, and that when the material for the finale came in and Frank said I need some time to figure out a plan of how to pursue this and what we're going to re-shoot and what it will take to do this, AMC was unwilling to give him that time to solve the issue and they let him go without notifying him that he was, that the issues were that series. That if he did not appropriately solve these issues, he was about to be fired."

Darabont was performing his responsibilities, said Mazzaro — delivering scripts, being in touch with the cast, dealing with department heads, even securing use of the famous “Hershel Greene farm" when a religious family who owned it didn't want to let AMC film there because of an objection to the content of the zombie drama.

"I believe Frank flew to meet with them and met with them and described the show and I think listened to them and reassured them of the type of show he wanted to do," Mazzara recalled. "And I believe that it was after that that they agreed to let us use that farm."

And even though Darabont was forced out midway through the second season, Mazzara said his imprint was evident throughout all the episodes. It's important because as the one who first developed Walking Dead and brought it to AMC, Darabont was entitled to get as much as 10 percent of profits from the series, but because he was terminated in the middle of the second season, AMC only counted him as three-quarters vested, meaning he only got 7.5 percent.

"A bunch of people running around on a farm running from zombies," said Mazzara. "And, you know, they're looking for a missing girl, girl comes out of the barn, everyone's upset about that, and then, and then they encounter a different group of people and have to figure out what to do and then there's a zombie attack at the end of the season. That was, I felt, Mr. Darabont's imprint as well as a cinematic approach to filming that material."

    Spoiler for next week.

Total episode synopsis....You have been warned

The Walking Dead - No Way Out - Spoiler Tidbits
Spoiler ninjas are back! Our thanks go to them as usual:

In the cold open, Sasha, Abe, and Daryl continue their face off with the group of bikers. After Team SAD hands over their weapons, the lead biker orders one of his men to take Daryl to search the truck for booty. Meanwhile, words are exchanged between Sasha, Abe, and the lead biker (as seen in promo). It results in the biker aiming guns at both Sasha and Abe. In typical Dixon style, Daryl saves them from disaster. Daryl subdues the Savior he was with, then blows the bikers to bits with the rocket launcher. S.A.D. hop in the truck and head home.

At ASZ the group continues to make their way through the herd. Rick realizes that there are too many walkers to drive the walkers away with flares and comes up with a new plan. When the question is raised about what to do about Judith, Father G volunteers to take her to safety. Carl passes her on and Father G makes his way to the church with Judith. (Can we get a witness for Father G right here?)

Glenn and Enid team up to try to save Maggie, but not without some teenaged snark from Enid.

The MSP rumor is accurate! CON-FIRMED! (Not like we didn’t all know that, but it was fun to say.) Rick, Michonne, Carl, Jessie, Sam, and Ron lock hands and begin walking through the herd again. Sam becomes frozen in fear and stops. Jessie’s pleas become more desperate as Sam cries that he can’t do it. A few walkers notice Sam and inevitably sink their teeth into him. As Sam screams, Jessie becomes paralyzed. A walker latches on to Jessie’s shoulder and she doesn’t react. Suddenly she is swarmed, yet continues to tightly grasp on to Carl’s hand. Carl’s desperation grows as he tries to free himself, but looks to Rick for help. Having no other choice with the walkers creeping on Carl and seeing Jessie is a goner, Rick hacks off Jessie’s hand with his trusty red axe. Ron picks Jessie’s gun off the ground and aims it at Rick. Carl jumps toward him as the gun goes off. The bullet hits Carl. As Ron goes to shoot Rick again, Michonne drives her katana through his chest, killing him. (Michonne. Do not fuck with her.) Rick turns and sees Carl standing with blood spewing from his eye, Carl softly crying, “Dad.” Carl collapses to the ground.

Carol shoots and kills the Wolf. Buh-bye asshole.

Denise makes it back to the infirmary in time for Rick to come running in with a bleeding Carl. No longer afraid, Denise immediately starts working on him.

After helplessly watching Carl, Rick rage is activated and he takes his axe and goes HAM on the herd of walkers in the safezone. Other Alexandrians, in awe and inspired, join in on the fight. Together they fight the herd, because that’s the only way they can win.

Big fan of Negan in the comics. Big fan of Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

It's going to be fairly difficult for these showrunners to completely and utterly fuck this up, but, based upon their previous work, I fully expect them to rise to the challenge.
