I took a Ryan class when I was in school and loved it so much I bought his book for my parents for Christmas. I knew he was such a great hire, but he's even exceeded my expectations. So much positive coming out of the school right now.
Used to think that was a likely outcome but you don’t turn down a raise if you have plans to jump at an NBA offer Furthermore, he wouldn’t be able to play the packline The NBA of 2019 is such a different animal than the one he played in and it’s not coming back
He's definitely made no secret about the fact that he's up to the challenge. And I definitely agree with Mr. Bean that he's much better suited to coaching college and being able to pick "his" guys. He's not a flexible enough coach right now to deal with different packages, but I could see him getting there. It would take a special situation and, honestly, an incredibly forward-thinking franchise that would be able to cede a ton of program control to him. The idea of Pop retiring in San Antonio makes me a little nervous. It would be a really bold move for an NBA team to bring him in, but if one of them is willing to make it (and willing to offer him the things he would need to succeed) I could see it happening. To me, San Antonio seems like one of the only places that could try it. I actively root against Brad Stevens in Boston because I think (rightfully or not) he's the most obvious analogy to Bennett. IMO the more successful he is in Boston, the greater our chances of having Tony poached by the NBA. It was a good year for us last year.
I absolutely think TB has the coaching chops to adapt to the NBA from a schematic standpoint and put together a top defense in that league but do it a different way. It would come down to if he WANTS that challenge. He has proven that the defense he learned from his father is good enough to win big in the NCAA tournament and the toughest conference in America. There is a certain amount of sentimentality associated with that I would imagine. He has and continues to buck the trends in CBB to do it his way. Will he get bored of that?
Perkins has the space and ability to run for 10 yards on every play but isn’t for some reason. Something is bothering him, it’s obvious over the past few weeks.
Our defense is locked in like they should have been from the start. Our offense still has to prove they showed up.
Micah Kiser is refreshingly transparent on twitter during UVA games Can’t wait for the weekly platitudes in this post game presser
I love all our NFL albums being honest on twitter. Levrone has some choice words too. And of course Chris Long. Just nice to have a football community.
I mean I am fully aware that the OC is always the least popular guy among the proletariat fans like us but it’s so frustrating how it seems like there is simultaneously no cohesive strategy and no ability to take what the defense is giving you.
there was no answer for the rush at all, many of the plays never had a chance. it’s so hard for me to understand.
bronco calmly defining his progress metrics during a post-loss press conference at UM would be a sight.
If you want to piss a bunch of people off, credit Craig Littlepage for the current state of the athletic department
Seeing this game at ND called one of the biggest ever for UVA football. I don't know about that. I'm expecting to take the L here and will be pleasantly surprised if we keep it interesting. A win would be huge but people hyping this game up as competitive probably need a reality check. Road games at Miami and UNC and of course home against VT seem like bigger games to me.
i agree, in the context of, i dont think they can do better at the moment. i think they should expect a little more out of the program.
Hes won 10 games 3 out of 4 years, hes been in the national title debate 2 of thise years. 3 years prior to his arrival they won 8, 7 and 5 games. Thats a pretty good turnaround. He definitely needs to beat osu but thats easier said then done imo.
as we learned from all the talk this past week: tough loss on the road to top ten team means you'll run the table after and still make the playoff
