Judges take Notes at every show. So they can track progress. It's also massively corrupt. Jay cutler has won when he shouldn't largely because they like to make legends who build the sport up. If a random dude wins every year less outsiders will take noticed.
Yeah but how can you tell who is deserving and who isn't? The differences have to be so small. I mean everyone competing usually looks the same. Of course this is coming from someone who has no idea.
Well they're weirdos. They look over notes proportion presentation etc. Also celebrity. It's just a weird sport. How many Olympic events that require judges make sense. Same shit.
Just some straight pussy shit here on some deficit deadlifts. Lots of doubles at 320 and some singles and an AMRAP at 330. Hands got carved up and top of thumbnail separated from skin causing bleeding because I cut them too short the night before. Amateur hour over here. This bar is the devil though for real. It's not branded, so I can't even tell what it is. "a bar has no name." 2nd time deadlifting in 4 weeks. I have to get my schedule back in line. /dear diary https://www.instagram.com/p/BIH_cjhjYMM/?taken-by=adamhen86
Is "loading dosage" for the first week bullshit if I've never taken it before? 190lbs, what do you recommend for daily intake?
Just take 5mg every day. Loading it isn't going to even come close to making a material difference. Eat good food, train hard, take 5mg. You'll be fine.
So I didn't lift yesterday because I was supposed to take my gf friend's fambly from FL out to dinner. Well I just found out that they weren't 'stuck in traffic' the cunt even checked into a restaurant at the same time she said she was 20 min away. I've killed people for less
Are core exercises kosher ITT or nah? Dragon flag game is getting pretty good Next goal on the checklist is front lever End goal for the year is human flag Been doing hanging knee tucks with a 45lb plate strapped on w/ a weight belt and planks w a 45lb on my back Any other recs welcomed
I had an oblique fracture in the 5th metacarpal a while back (2008, maybe?) and I had to have it casted for over a month. In order to do any type of training that required use of my hands, I had to be innovative and I got a lot of use out of my deadlift straps. To deadlift, I modified, i.e. cut my cast so that I could thread my deadlift strap under my cast and have it come out between my thumb and forefinger. It hurt my broken finger like hell, but I was able to gut it out and do some deadlifts to maintain my form. For squatting, I opted to front squat used the straps to hold onto the bar. It's hard to describe, so I'll try to take a picture of it tonight. For pressing, I did Viking press. Since most people don't have access to a Viking press, one of those Cybex machines at the gym would probably suffice. Just be sure to push with the heel of your broken hand. It may also be of note that when one limb is immobilized, the other limb can be exercised regularly to help maintain strength, or at least minimize atrophy in the injured limb. Studies have shown that a contralateral sympathetic response happens in the injured limb when you exercise the good limb. That means that while you may be only exercising one side of the body, the neurological pathways are still firing for the other side and the muscle fibers are still contracting on the injured side! With this in mind, it would be beneficial to do some grip work and single arm pressing with the good hand while you're waiting for the break to heal. Disclaimer: My methods are not medically endorsed. The doctor who treated me told me I was the most noncompliant patient she'd ever had. To achieve that honor, I cut my own cast off so I could play rugby. It was the playoffs and we were losing, but I was smart enough to put a metal snips in my kit bag. I told the coach I'd be ready to play and to put me in at halftime and I cut my cast off right there on the sidelines and taped the hell out of my broken finger.
Safety bar squats galore this morning. Shit was grueling. 240 1x3 250 1x2 260 4x1 260 AMRAP (5) I was hoping to get 3 on my AMRAP but was very happy to hit 5. Absolutely exhausted afterwards. Back was lit. https://www.instagram.com/p/BIKfqbqDLek/?taken-by=adamhen86 Warning: Physique progress pic. Click at own risk. No homo. Spoiler
I do planks, deadbugs, capt morgans, and their respective variants most days during my squat/deadlift warmups. Other days I'll do Evil Wheels, Med ball work, Russian Twists, etc as finishers.
Picture showing the difference in weight placement between my normal back squat (left) and safety bar squat (right).
There are nice ass crossfit gyms and a slew of other really expensive gyms, some better than others. Outside of the place in Brooklyn there isn't a serious gym that I know of. I'm not paying $200+/month to work out at a CF-style place.
Been doing dead bench the last couple weeks to burn out on arm day/double up bench for the week. Really liking that lift to close out the week so thanks to those of you that recommended that a while back.
My rehbands were starting to give out, so I got some SBDs. Figured you care for them the same way. Tossed them in the washer with a full load of laundry, and when I opened it they were split open and there was shredded neoprene everywhere. Awesome.
"Meg Squats" trains at Mid City Gym in Manhattan. Looks like they have some platforms, racks, etc... Looks pretty commercial for the most part though.
1. I'm currently in my 1-2 months where I'm not taking any creatine (Mainly because I ran out, but I also tell myself it's good for me to do that every so often. Scientific evidence-none that I know of). After doing a little research I realized I was paying too much for the stuff I was taking before, anyone have some rec's on my next creatine purchase? 2. Why are hensleya's posts always in a different font? Also-don't follow him on IG, he is NOT #teamfollowback as they say in the African Americans on social media thread 3. I realized today that I'm that guy who is all upper body. , don't ask me about my symmetric strength score 4. 315 bench is so close. Pretty sure I would've got it today if it would've been 314. So that was some good motivation for the rest of the workout. 5. I need to hang out in here more. Keeps me accountable.
Lol, I will happily follow back, bud. Just let me know who you are haha. As far as creatine, just buy optimum nutrition microniced monohydrate. It's like $14 for 600 grams. As far as font, sometimes I C&P from The rivals forum and it changes my font. It's annoying. You should definitely hang out in here more.
