Haha, definitely not. It's honestly what browser window I click on first. No rhyme or reason. I will say rivals embeds Instagram directly into the thread, which is far superior to this format. The discussion in this thread is so much better.
"Generation Iron" on Netflix is such a great documentary. Wish I had half the dedication to do what those guys do.
Rep PR on top set and volume PR overall. 320x4 after hitting 305x3, 310x2, and 320 for 3 singles. https://www.instagram.com/p/BISM_twjdei/ blasted back, biceps, and hammies on some accessories after. Good session overall considering I slept like a dipshit last night.
Iron Mickey you still looking at some new training shoes? Eastbay has a 20% plus free shipping promo right now that is good on the Nike Metcon 2
Blah. Wanted to try to max DL didn't want to Jerry rig plates together so I tried out a ufc gym. Pulled 520 but I didn't have it today. I rushed to 530 figuring 525 was in the bag and missed. Imo it was just too fucking hot. I fucking sweat my bullocks off. OHP 205 doe. I think I have 210 if I'm fresh.
I don't understand how people can crossfit in 90+ heat and youmid. If I don't have 3 fans and a cross wind my vagina starts acting up.
They're actually not good for deadlift. The raised heel actually makes the weight come out in front of you more instead of allowing it to come straight up your body. You want flat soles. I wear my Chucks or just my socks when I do it. Wrestling shoes would probably be ideal.
Hadn't really lifted hard since late June. Went in & did back/chest Monday. Back still reminding me I need to do more back work, woke up from lats still being sore.
Love my Inzer lever belt. Don't have to take it on and off between sets. Just release the lever and I can just walk around with it on still.
I use a izner belt at the gym right now. Doing a power lifting meet and didn't think about a belt...not sure I can use the belt I typically use.
1-3 weeks for non-embroidered. They're known for their customer service. Tell them you have a comp coming up quickly and see if they can expedite it for you. They probably will.
Deficit deads on the menu today. Hit some doubles and triples at 320 and 330 and then 3 singles at 340 before this AMRAP of 6. I was having some issues with bar slippage (possibly a bit too much chalk on the actual bar from other people), so I used straps on the AMRAP. I may actually use straps on AMRAPs going forward. It seems a lot of elite guys do that. Farmers carries, face pulls, and DB press as accessories. Good session. https://www.instagram.com/p/BIZ9tTXjcOx/?taken-by=adamhen86
Pulled yesterday. Few sets of 5 followed by RDLs for some volume. Paused front squats for 10 triples then some Rubish Rows to let me deadlift like Pete. I still had my adipowers on when I started the rows after the front squats. Ended up getting a quad pump doing rows. Alright alright alright.
not major lifts but tried and got a few new highs this morning for chest/back flat DB bench 115s x 6 90lb weighted dips x 8 70lb weighted chinups x 4 honestly doubt those weighted dips are good for the shoulders. been settling with doing 45+25 on there for 12-15 reps for a while. shoulders felt a little off after the 90 set for a few seconds
I've been easing back into dips, working on less and less of an Assisted weight. Back in January i strained something in my chest (think i got costochondritis). I couldnt even do 1 due to the pain. I think i could do them without weight assist now but not going to rush anything
It feels really, really good to be back at the point where I'm looking forward to my workout every day
Good video from Mark Bell. Talks about surrounding yourself with like-minded people to get better. Talks about handling self-doubt, having self respect, and proving to yourself you can improve. Mark has to be one of the most passionate lifters out there and his love and contributions to powerlifting are why I buy his stuff. His equipment happens to be completely awesome too, which is obviously important. I don't really have direct access to like-minded people as much I would like. The gym is practically empty early in the mornings when I go, so I rely on threads like this and people like y'all to give me motivation. So, thanks. /dear diary,
Never responded to email. Called and talked to Kimberly. She said they would rush the order for me. Probably shit in a week.
Awesome, dude. Let us know how you like the belt. I'm going to add a single prong to my bag eventually.
We have an Olympic viewing party at work on the 15th from 12-2. The 105kg boys will be hitting the platform. I'm going to whine and cry until they put weightlifting on the tv
I took lhprop1's advice and am just lifting through the rather excruciating pain in my hand. This is the first week of 5/3/1 largely as I posted it a few weeks ago. Loving the shit out of it. Did bench etc this morning, worked and ate a metric ton of tempeh, beans, and quinoa, then went back to the gym to swim. The pump, son. The pump. I feel like Terry Crews (sp?) with his immaculate, moving pecs.
Weighted dips jacked my shoulder up at least half the time I did em. Too many other ways to build triceps and chest so I ditched them. Hadn't missed a thing.
'The Mountain' from Game of Thrones pulling 805 for a stupidly easy double. Massive human being. https://www.instagram.com/p/BIbQnnvgX0F/
Squatter day. Felt good. Got up early to help my old lady out. She's an assistant coach for a soccer squad and needed course marshalls for a 5k test they ran. Went from there to squats, Anderson front squats, barbell glute bridges, dumbbell walking lunges, leg curls, and leg extensions. I've been finishing each day with some type of burnout exercise. Did a wall sit today. Made it almost two minutes before the will broke. Then had to ride home. Quad fire, bros. Quad fire.
Considering moving to high bar on squats. Can't decide. Need to try a heavy set and see how it feels I reckon.
Been high bar life for about 3 months now. Love it. In other news I've been sick and haven't lifted in like 6 days. Feel like a bitch.
He listens to Slipknot lifting like me! Slipknot, Metallica, Meshugga, Lamb of God, and System of a Down are my lifting playlist.
high bar master race checking in. CWS put it really well, "High bar is the best way to develop strength, low bar is the best way to express it"
