As my gym is small, I got to spend my Sunday workout listening to some middle-aged ape-arm cretin give the "curls for gurls" shtik to some teenage boy he was "teaching."
Everyone at my gym was at the Knox classic this weekend so it was a ghost town. Curls in the squat rack for everyone (just me).
You will not be disappoint. You went big boy style with the 13mm. Did they quote you a delivery time?
Did some sprint and levee work this morning. It was my first time running since the knee surgery. I had forgotten how much that stuff sucked.
I ate cheese burger and fries yesterday and it put me in a damn coma. Got a case of the 'itis and could barely get up this morning. Had to skip on lifting because I overslept, but I threw on my sauna suit and went and did some HIIT to try and sweat that fucker off.
first time DLing with round plates again this morning buddy of mine getting back into lifting after 4 months of lazy. joined in our 5x5 club. pleasant surprise his DL form is great at 225# x 3
I ordered a black 10mm single prong and it was in stock so it got here in like 5 days from house of pain. I ordered a red one direct from Inzer that is one size smaller (I measured twice), 10mm single prong as well. It's been pending since July 11.
Was supposed to be leg day today...worked 13 hours last night so I was all :Yao: when I got off. Promptly slept 8 hours
Yeah I was thinking about going back yesterday after 3 days of beer burgers and concerts but it wasn't happening. Back at it today.
Got back and cardio in this morning. By like my 4th exercise I was sweating like a whore in church. It was bad.
heavy bag is back up at the gym after being broken for the whole month that I've been back at Golds first boxing/core circuit since last winter this morning #Blessed
nien. we've been going to the one on Ben White/Manchaca because we all live on South Lamar. I did hear a couple of things about the downtown location: - The new one that's supposed to be badass (I think around 5th and colorado st) got flooded a week before grand opening and looked like a work in progress still as of Friday night when we walked by - Taylor Kitsch's faggot ass works out regularly at the downtown golds
elitefts has video series. buffdudes has some I know there are others some here may have seen and preferred too.
Definitely second the elitefts "so you think you can deadlift/squat/bench" series Oddly enough Art of Manliness did a series on overhead press, squats etc with Rippetoe that was also beneficial. There's more but those two are pretty concise until you notice a weak point like stiffness or butt wink. At which point you'll want to seek specific advice on those issues My biggest recommendation for squats is limber 11. My squat form sucked for 2 months until I started limbering up. Hitting parallel unless you're naturally limber won't be easy until you start practicing mobility movement.
Jonnie Candito supertrainingtv (best content out there right now by far. Awesome videos for squats and deadlifts) Alan Thrall Brandon Campbell Josh Hancott
Oddly enough I listen to their podcast but rarely watch their videos (except the Ed Coan ones). I like Thrall, as well.
Deload is going better than expected. In Atlanta for work... Finishing up a 12oz blackened filet that basically led me to orgasm at Hal's steakhouse. As great as it is, I'm ready to get back to Charlotte so I can lift more weight.
Big fan of his. Juggernaut is doing right by having Mike Israetel, as well. He can be a little pretentious but he's a bright fucking guy.
My mini bulk (aka me starting to track calories again in hopes of adding a little weight) is going really well. Up about 3 lbs over July to 187. Abs still just about as visible, still having bicep veins and my favorite, the forearm vein that runs towards the outside of my elbow . So very aesthetic of me, I know. Rep maxes are trending up, too so I'm pleased with the progress. Not sure if I even mentioned it but I'm doing a 6 week block focusing on technique, work capacity and hypertrophy. Lots of volume, a fair amount of various pauses, monitored rest periods in hopes of getting in shape. Gaining the swolez and then turning the swolez into a 1350+ total at 181. Still nothing to write home about but it would be a nice achievement for me. As an aside, I am putting on weight at a little over 2,500 calories/ day (180-200g protein... 250-300g carbs...50-70g fat). The numbers vary day to day because I smoke weed every night and the composition kind of falls where it may sometimes based on what's in the fridge and what i'm craving. I've never been great with diet and have always tended to under eat in fear of getting fat. I have no idea how some people fight their way through 5-6k calories a day to maintain or grow. That takes some real dedication and a hell of a metabolism. My metabolism will likely never reach that point based on where I'm currently at and me being honest with myself about that kind of dedication, but that's impressive stuff. ... dear diary, please pardon the length; Adderall, caffeine and a good mood
Thinking about doing one next week. Shit the bed on chest today and both elbows are starting to act up now. I'm gonna plow through this week and take just a light week next week before the next "push".
My left arm felt like ass last time benching. Hoping to avoid the same fate tomorrow or I might be forced to do something similar.
I'm probably do for one. Been going regularly for over 3 months almost everyday. Just gonna do abs and cardio next week then I got 2 weeks and going to start 5 week mfp.
I always get a nice little pump going on Pull day... that makes my calves look even more pathetic. Life can be so cruel.
Don't know how to embed, but this is a brilliant idea: https://video-atl1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/h...=8c466caf5b05c4bc81b63855a96b5656&oe=55C37D60
Well no offense but my first thought was which photos are the before and which are the afters? Are you going for a cut or a bulk here?
You aren't going to make any huge gains in one month. You could cut down a bit and see a little difference but far as muscle goes, that takes longer than any month.
yea, I mean it's 28 days. the last 2 pictures are actually interesting, I think they show at least some change. Spoiler
I..I don't...is it a cut or a bulk phase? If its bulk eat more and keep lifting, if it's a cut you appear to be making progress.
It took you 28 days to change shorts? Spoiler Jk, keep it up. It takes 30 days for you to see results, 60 days for people close to you to start noticing and 90 days for casual acquaintances to notice.
Try to eat below your maintenance with 1g/lb of protein and plenty of carbs with minimal fat for a few months and see what happens.
