We are a deeper, more experienced, more physical, and cohesive squad this season than last (and we were pretty good last season). We are rock solid in all phases of the game, and the entire squad had a calmness under pressure that is very encouraging. We just eviscerated a team that hadn't lost a match in the league yet this season.
Such a huge win, and we proved that we are as good as any team in the league this year. So much good stuff.
And he will now disappear for the next 3 weeks(Unless you play Chelsea or Man U, and if you do he will have the game of his life)
Thing is we have a good man manager and stuff to actually play for. Also, his spot isn't guaranteed here no matter what. If he dogs it he will be training with the U18's.
What a performance. Love our squad depth across all levels. Hope we can get healthier over the break and keep this momentum going.
I get that. My point is, is that if you aren't playing a top 4-5 team, he's going to be invisible more times than not. Especially on the heels of having a good game
No Harry or Dembele (arguably our two most important players last season), still swung dick all over City.
He started here with a clean slate for me, I'll wait until those things actually happen to start shitting on him. You got your 30M, we got a player who we think can help us mount a title challenge. It worked out for both sides.
Looks like Jan is next to sign an extension, followed by Harry. Tough to imagine things heading in a better direction then they are right now, kind of a perfect storm.
Honest question, is there anyone that currently plays who you're not expecting to get a new deal? Or that they will be sold sooner than later?
Nope, the club is really doing an amazing job tying down all of the key pieces as we move ahead into the new stadium. We've sealed up like 6 starters contracts in the past month or so, it is crazy. Poch has created such a positive atmosphere at the club, weeding out any bad eggs and rewarding young players who deserve playing time/improved contracts.
Yea, just seems like you guys are locking into what you have now. Which seems like a great idea, just not something you typically see. Especially with all the turnover with coaches and transfers(not meaning Spurs, but european soccer in general)
Yeah, being the squad is so young it only makes sense to keep what we have here and just tweak it a bit from season to season. The continuity can only help going forward, the entire team knows what is expected of them. We just need to keep Poch happy and tied down to a life time contract if possible.
That was fun. Great time for an international break too. The rest of October sets up relatively well before a brutal November schedule, so hopefully we can keep the momentum rolling.
Amazing work from the team today. Love Poche. Hopefully there is a photo of him signing a new contract every 6 months
What a great fucking weekend. Spent all day yesterday in Clemson, then got back up at the crack of down to get back home and watch us beat City with Columbia Spurs. COYS
I'm calm now. Congrats. You guys looked really good today. Hopefully for the match at Etihad we are much better prepared for the press
Thanks love, appreciate the kind words. Always an entertaining affair when we attack minded sides face off.
Poch has revealed that the 4-1-4-1 may be the future for us as far as a base formation. Basically playing one holding midfielder and wreaking havoc upon the opposition's back line. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/10/0...ss-mauricio-pochettino-admits-one-holding-mi/
Wimmer is unhappy with lack of playing time, which is only natural. Need to dorder a better job of throwing him a bone here and there.
In International news, Dele scored for England and looked pretty swell against a weak Malta side. Toby scored on an extremely tidy back flick, he is such a well rounded player. Decent bit of business those two have turned out to be. Janssen scored a belter for the Dutch as well, so we know that he can in fact find the back of the net.

I quite like this one as well "This is my dream, to get the award," Son told the Premier League website. "I want to get it a second time, a third time. When I take the award home my family will be crazy like you can’t believe; they will be really happy. "I can't believe I'm the first player from Asia [to win it]. I'm very thankful for the support. They support every day, every weekend, every game." View image on Twitter
Tottenham Hotspur @SpursOfficial 34m34 minutes ago #THFC team: Lloris (C); Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Wanyama; Sissoko, Dele, Eriksen, Lamela; Janssen. #COYS Not our strongest team, but should be enough to win vs. West Brom. I've said that before though. Clearly resting a few for midweek CL game which is huge. No time like today for Janssen to get on the scoresheet finally.
