Unless Real wins the final, then they'd be in Pot 1. Loser will be in Pot 2.

As excited as I am for the Euros, Copa and the transfer window I am ready for the CL playoff and to see how the groups shake out

All things considered this was a banner year. Really a fantastic run and fuck St. Totteringhams day this was the most tottenham season ever. It was a masterpiece in what being a Spurs fans means. The pain is integral and this was Tottenham's magnum opus, better than the Drogba header in Munich year.

Despite all the pain, I love this team and this year. Blessed.

I read this thread daily and post rarely. However, this is the first time I have opened this thread since about 15 min. into the game on Sunday. I wont go back and read what was posted. I trust it was only well thought out, reasonable posts. Definitely no overreactions.

Enjoyed the discussions this season, it has been a fun year to be a fan until this week. Anyways, looking forward to the England Spurs in the Euros and seeing who we add. Already some talk about Lallana, but Im not sure liverpool will sell, unless they gotze or reus...

Not without Champions League imo. Not crazy about Lallana but really a boulder would be a better option than Mason

We should be the team targeting those types of players, we are currently a more attractive option than Liverpool. In London with Champions League football on offer. No thanks on Lallana.

I enjoyed having them to watch last season as a neutral and I've convinced myself with Pep coming in and lots of expected changes that it won't be a bad thing

Lots of smoke swirling about us playing our CL matches this upcoming season at Wembley due to decreased capacity at WHL. We will be about 4k seats short of the normal capacity due to construction of the new stadium. I'm guessing it was part of the deal to get us cleared for play at Wembley the following season during the league. Kind of sucks, IMO.

The first part of the Lane that is being torn down is where the visiting fans sit. Makes me wonder if there's some CL requirement regarding visiting fans (their seat locations or number of tickets they are allocated) that is forcing the move.

Looks like they'll announce us playing at Wembley today: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/wembley-will-be-spurs-new-home-9kct3bxp2

Also, later in the article it mentions we are in on a Nike deal worth 25 mill :)

The full article behind the paywall

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to announce today that they will play their Champions League matches at Wembley next season and use the national stadium as a temporary home while White Hart Lane is rebuilt in the following campaign.

The overall deal could be worth more than £25 million to the FA if Tottenham progress beyond the group stage of Europe’s leading club competition next season.

There is nothing in the contract to prevent Chelsea from also using the venue in 2017-18, but the west London club may not be ready to redevelop their ground in time as they may only receive planning permission for their proposed redevelopment of Stamford Bridge this summer.

Tottenham will use Wembley for Champions League games next season as about 4,000 seats will be removed from a corner of White Hart Lane this summer to help the building work that has started on their new stadium, adjacent to their present home. The club will be limited to playing in front of 50,800 people at Wembley because of local planning constraints, but the deal includes the potential for them to use the full 90,000 capacity should they be drawn against a big European team.

Although Tottenham expect to need to leave their home for one season, there is also understood to be a contingency plan agreed with the FA should their builders overrun and the club need to use Wembley for a longer period.

Spurs will pay ÂŁ20 million to use the stadium for the 2017-18 campaign, but the governing body may have to bear some of the operational costs.

Tottenham plan to fund their new stadium using a combination of a loan and commercial income. They have agreed a ÂŁ25 million-a-year deal with Nike to become their shirt manu- facturer from 2017 and are aiming to receive the same sum per season from naming rights of their new ground.

Mauricio Pochettino, the Tottenham manager, has admitted that his financial muscle in the transfer market will be squeezed as a result of the redevelopment and would prefer that the club use spare money to tie down his senior players to better deals.

Pochettino wants to sign only a few players and is expected to lodge an offer for Michy Batshuayi after watching the Marseilles striker play in the French Cup final on Saturday. Batshuayi has scored 17 and made six other league goals this season and is likely to cost upwards of £25 million. His transfer could be partly funded by Tottenham offloading Nacer Chadli, Batshuayi’s Belgium team-mate, who has two years left on his deal. Chadli was mainly used as a substitute at the end of the season and took the blame for a mistake that led to a 1-0 defeat by West Ham United at Upton Park in March.

Being able to go full capacity would be awesome but I think WHL getting CL football in it's last season would be way better. It will sap some of the home field advantage during the group stages, IMO.

I don't see why Ibra would want United. To play for Mou? he really care about winning a prem title? I see him lasting 3 years there max, more likely 2, he would be 36 years old at the earliest time United can play in the champions league again. It can't be the wages because he could get those anywhere. MLS needs to make a move on him imo.

I stayed up until 4am last night finishing my first season on FIFA16 that I've brought to completion. Chelsea had a 12 point lead on me with maybe five games left, they slipped, I surged, ended up on the final matchday one point back of them (83 to 82), I murdered Newcastle only to despair as Leicester lost 2-0 to the Blues. Won the Euro League though, but still bitter.

Well when teams make transfer offers for primetime players, I always make exorbitant counter offers, and the first week of the save, someone bought Eriksen for something north of 50 mil USD. I went out with that money and got some of the best young midfielders in Renato Sanches and Youri Tielemans, Leroy Sané (RM), Eric Bailey (CB), and Batsuyahi (ST). Forgive me for spelling errors, but I had a fun time, especially using this new training system.

So as construction progress continues throughout the 17/18 season and old WHL becomes less usable, we'll switch some games to Wembley? I am glad though, like Ace said, that it didn't end up MK Dons.
