I’m open to spend some cash. My main thing with smart remotes is that I’m not sure how much we’ll like remotes that rely heavily on just voice command. Would be nice to control lights or turn on when spoken too but not mandatory I’m leaning towards an Amazon cube at the moment
I loved my Logitech Harmony one until the battery crapped out. I need to replace it. (5 remotes is a bad look). If you want just a remote. I highly recommend them. I believe the hub runs home automation too.
Probably a dumb question, can a fire stick be programmed to control the Tv? Thinking I can just get a fire stick to replace my TV remote
I use mine for this though my cable provider has an app in the amazon store which lets me watch regular TV cable as well as other apps. If you have to change the source for like a console or BluRay, I have to do it manually on the TV or with the TV remote.
Just buy a universal remote from Logitech. I prefer the Harmony One remote, which is discontinued by Logitech, but you can get a used one off of Ebay.
My roku can control the tv. I have a harmony for all the audio video stuff that’s behind a wall but it only does RF and my tv is old enough to only take IF. My roku remote does both, so the roku is hooked to the receiver behind a wall and the remote can still work the TV.
Them Logitech remotes are legit. Sad that they have basically given up in that product line but I guess it kinda makes sense these days.
I switched from harmony to Caavo. Really like it but they appear to have gone up on prices since I bought mine. Also charge a monthly fee.
Anyone come across tv deals for this weekend? Looking for a 55 as cheap as possible. Probably go with a tcl 4 series but am open to hisense or w.e. If the price is better.
If you are just looking for cheap check Wal-Mart, they always seem to have either the low end Samsung or LG on sale for like ~350 or just do the TCL and get the best interface there is.
samsung already released theirs. my neighbor already got one. Apparently the best man at his wedding owns a home theater company and will hook him up with legit deals. Got the 85 inch 90x for $4k. Bestbuy has it for $5k.
Unless you are going up to the 20-30k insanity that is OLED 8k, I think it still is. You also get the badass one connect box.
we have that now with our 65 inch. It's pretty awesome. Allows you to only feed one wire through the wall.
Literally the only thing I wish the c9 did differently. But, my set up is all under the tv not hidden so it doesn’t matter as much here.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-8...-ultra-hd-tv-with-hdr/6179708.p?skuId=6179708 These are quickly going out of stock across retailers, but these are a bargain at the current price if you want a good quality 85".
LIkely the CX (one model year newer, one tier higher) is the crown bearer, but I have'nt followed 2020 much. Here is the most straight forward review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-b9-vs-lg-cx/915/10619
Wirecutter for high level reviews and at a glance. e.g. " best 65" budget tv" or "best tv for gaming" Rtings.com for detailed comparisons of all models, and publishing of said data. Vincent Teoh/HDTVTest (YouTube) for fact checking and thorough reviews of the highest end models and new technologies.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/TCL-75-C...SnQd2xyORVZwUx0Mo3bwUkiW0Yx1wz3ozg0&sharedid= Any thoughts on this TV? Redoing our basement and wanted a 75 inch. Not super fussy and was looking to spend about 1k. This seemed to get decent reviews and would leave more money for other furnishings. Seems like people have generally liked TCL’s.
Looking at an outside TV to go with my patio renovation. I have been thinking TCL for the roku app. Thinking 65”. Is series 4 good enough or do I need to move up to 6 series?
Bumping this thread from the other Home Thread.... Best buy just put all their TLC 8 Series TVs 50% off. I've had my eye on a 6 Series 65" for a minute and just waiting on the right time to buy it.... So the 8 Series is now marched down from 2,000 to $1,000 and the 6 series is now 800. Is the 8 series with the extra $200?
I have the 6 and have been happy with it. Rtings says the 8 series is better for sports. Spend the extra $200.
Thinking of grabbing that 55inch 6 series for the bathroom. Is $575 the normal price or the discounted one?
redoing the master bathroom. There's just enough room above the entry door to fit a 55 inch TV that can be seen from the shower or the toilet room if you leave it open.
Going against my own earlier advice in this thread and looking at the TCL 5 series 50" for a tailgate/portable tv, I would go 4 series but the 5 rates much higher brightness wise. Any others I should be looking at in the <$350 range?
I too am interested in this size / price range. For a second TV in the Den. Will be sports and gaming focused. Thanks in advance. i have the TCL 50” 5 series in my Amazon cart.
Not TV but I’m looking to hook up a projector outside and was looking to have a simple solution for speakers. Anyway have this Sonos/Sonace set up? Little on the high end of what I wanted to pay. Looking for alternatives. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sonanc...ng-music-system-white/6359679.p?skuId=6359679
TCL 5 series got its first run on the deck today, it is an absolute steal for the money. Other than the OLED in the "theater" these things are replacing everything as they go out.
