Land back in warm weather with another win. Team looked good. Some dudes I've never heard of getting sacks is nice.
Exactly. "Turns out it just needed to be popped back in. He's questionable for Memphis but we expect him back for the bowl game"
http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...nzie-milton-ucf-knights-qb-suffers-leg-injury They got their out, it’s fucked up but they have their excuse now regardless of what happens
They've said they consider injuries before but of course only to boost a team who may have lost with a key injury (ala Clemson a year or two ago). For us, of course, that means they'll predict the future even though we had 600 yards and 38 points tonight. Obviously KZ is a massive hit but actual results have not been affected yet.
Holy shit some people are saying they are trying to save his leg. I have no clue if that is a real risk right now.
Didn't Bridgewater almost lose his with an injury like this? I think its pretty common issue when this happens so its not surprising but its fucking horrific to hear.
I wouldn't believe anything tonight. It's easy to speculate based on little info. Unless his mom is calling around updating people who then feel compelled to put it on the internet I just won't believe anything. You know no one at the hospital is releasing real information.
I don't even care if he ever plays again at this point. Just want him to be able to keep his leg and walk.
I’m devastated for you guys. Fuck it all. I went to school at Omaha before Lincoln and got to see Zach Miller play in college and he was amazing. As a Husker fan I grew to love MM from afar and rooted the shit out of the guy. I’m hoping for a recovery at this point. Fuck that shit, fuck it all. The game isn’t bigger than his health and ability to walk. You got us on your side. Win out, win out because you should get into the playoff. This isn’t us against you. Those fans suck. The best of us wish only the best forward. God damn this game sometimes. Fuck
KZ might be done all together with football. If that's true he'll live the rest of his life on a 24 game winning streak. He's a legend.
Sorry friends. That’s a terrifying injury, and anyone considering football ramifications at this point is a selfish asshole. Let the guy keep his leg and be able to walk as naturally as possible.
Can we Quadry? I have no desire to live through another Holman. Being there when KZ ended his career is not ideal
Mack isn’t Holman. He’s much more athletic. The more apt comparison from a physical standpoint is Blake, but Mack doesn’t come close to having that it factor Blake had in College.
Mack's not Milton and his numbers weren't great but he hit the deep pass a few times and was close a few others. Most importantly he's played 2 full games with no turnovers. He's not beating Bama but he'll beat Memphis.
The biggest dropoff with Mack I think is presnap. He's a little slower to get the snap and isn't as sure where he's going to go once the ball is snapped. Couple of qb options or draws and it just wasn't the right option. Milton is always "eyes up" and has had the best awareness of any UCF qb before him.
McCrae May have to go full 24k next week. That man is so good. USF knew we were running and had no chance.
My dads a retired sports ortho. He had a baseball patient years ago that had to have his lower leg amputated from something similar. His *guess*, which should be taken as nothing more than speculation, was that it’s not just a torn up knee but possibly a spiral fracture of both the fibula and tibula. That’s based on a photo I sent and how long the surgery was (he didn’t get out until 1:55a according to someone on rivals - still in the icu). He said when that happens the bones become really sharp and can cut up everything around them. It takes a long time for the docs to clean it up. There were rumors circulating last night that his artery was pinched and not ruptured which is a good thing, but it all comes down to how quickly they were able to restore blood flow. People -can- come back from it, especially when there’s millions of dollars on the table, but in KZ’s case... I just don’t know. Let’s hope it was just his knee, at this point.
Oh, and also according to someone on rivals, KZ replied to both Mike Hughes and Baker Mayfield on Instagram last night around 4am. So there’s that. We can cross the absolute worst worst case of surgery off the list.
I'm very glad his mom lives here now. I can't imagine how awful it would be to be a parent and have to fly halfway across the world worrying the whole time.
I know to all of us the football side of this doesn't matter and we all are accepting of the idea that Milton will almost assuredly never play football again. But it is frustrating to see the media already saying UCF could drop in the polls after a 38-10 win. This is the G5 treatment. Would they drop ND or Clemson out of the playoff if their QB was hurt but they still won their last few games? It's going to happen and I'm going to be mad as shit about it.
I think the team can definitely rally this week and take down Memphis. If def can slow down Henderson we are going to Peach/Fiesta again. Then we just have to hope we get a good matchup and even if we lose its an incredible run.
Yeah we could lose now no doubt. But to preemptively lower a teams ranking due to an injury before they have lost a game and honestly after the back up led team kicked the shit out of a conference foe is wrong.
Do you think you can let us work through this conversation without condescendingly throwing your hat in the ring?
As a UCF supporter it sucks but it’s the reality too. If kyler Murray gets injured vs Texas and they still win Oklahoma would probably be left out too if somehow they were in a position to get in
The defense has given up 6 TDs in the last 3.5 games and 11TDs in the last 5.5 This was suposed to be our "most difficult stretch" where we were "really tested" Don't drop us in the polls when we have the ability to play great defense and run for 400 yards a game if needed.
He upset because you’re a giant asshole. To answer your question though, probably not but we’re not sure. Our backup qb is actually pretty great just different. It all comes down to coaching staff and whether or not they can gameplan appropriately. KZ has an “it” factor that allows him to recover broken plays. OTOH Mack might be more inline with the kids Heupel will try to recruit. He seems like maybe a more natural fit for the system. And at the end of the day we’re a top 5 rushing team. That doesn’t change. We’ll learn a lot with the Memphis game.
I believe the team can win games in a different way if needed. We aren't WVU we have been a balanced team all year.
