As much as your QB coach looks like Steve Spurrier wearing a wig, Frost is the dude though. Just look at him. I'd follow him to hell and back. No joke, he is an inspiring looking figure.
Let me fill you in on the high(low)lights of our team: We are tall but very young team missing our Best player from last year (BJ Taylor PG) who's sitting out with an injury in 2016. We will start a 7'6" Nigerian with googles who is good on D, can make FT's but has no offensive moves what so ever, his back up is a 500 lb lineman with hands like an angel but gets winded in 2 trips down the court. He may or may not eat 3 big mac's during media timeouts. We have like 11 other guys that can play 2-4 spots, we go mostly point forward with a transfer from Tennessee, AJ Davis (Antonio Davis's son). He is not as good or like his dad at all. We have 0 basketball IQ We have 0 situational coaching ability We like to stand around on offense and throw up late 3's as the shot clock expires and then foul while trying to get the rebound All refs hate us I'm sure we lead the NCAA in 3 second violations We only have 2 Sr.s and 1 is the 3rd Center who hasn't seen the court in weeks even though he's the most athletic Center we have.(DNPCD) The other Sr is a true PG who is either very hot or very very cold. Basically we have no real star on the team and once you find out is "hot" that night you just have to shut that 1 guy down and that should about wrap it up.
We have an insane guard tandem in Shaq Harrison and James Woodard. 6 of our top 7 players are seniors. We've underachieved so far, but things seem like they're improving.
I like your chances. We will play almost totally zone D FWIW. I should mention this probably the best free throw shooting team DJ has had at UCF, I think we are at 71% and take about 25 a game because our Bigs get hacked a lot. People just love to hit the big guys once they have the ball. I bet they would travel more than they would score if other teams just didn't fouls us. (don't tell your staff) Zones kills us, the only thing we do worse than beating a zone is running anything vs man to man.
So when this team underperforms, is DJ out? Or do we think White gives him 1 more year post-sanctions ?
I think DJ is out unless he gets into the top half of the AAC and gets a win in the conference tourney being at the Amway. White has a basketball background and probably just wants any excuse to get rid of DJ.
Fun Fact*: UCF leads in the nation in not getting shots off out of "set play" timeouts *made up stat but probably true
Totally agree, probably not even a stat but hard to imagine a team with a worse production percentage coming out from time outs. What makes this glaring is that this may have been Kirk's best attribute as a coach. I'm just waiting for one of our guys to get on all 4's and bark to distract the other team and lob it to taco only to have it hit the back of the backboard.
more effective than our current go-to... "inbound to someone OH FUCK NOW WHAT LAUNCH DESPERATION OFF BALANCE SHOT FROM 25 FEET AWAY WHEN TIED WITH 4 SECONDS LEFT"
that's the type of man i want as an assistant coach. everything about him screams "that guys a coach?...that guys a human?" i think it's exactly the type of guy who is partially insane, everyone has low expectations for, and then he turns out to be a savant.
SO we are currently the #1 seed in the AAC basketball tourney (4-1). Lets see if we fall faster than the DOW last week. I'm guessing we go 3-10 to finish the year
I think Snelson ends up here. Two weekends in a row is a good sign. Especially if the snow continues next weekend for PSU.
For being 0-12 we are going to be seriously stockpiled full of offensive skill players next season if Snelson, killins, Hamilton, Mbodj, etc all come.
Well that was a short NFL career. Wide receiver J.J. Worton, a member of the Patriots practice squad, was arrested early on Saturday morning in Foxboro after police say he assaulted two women and punched a man at a bar before fleeing the scene. According to CBS Boston, the rookie wideout was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 and over and one count of assault and battery. According to the report, police were summoned to Waxy O’Connor’s, a bar located about two miles from Gillette Stadium, at 1 a.m. on Saturday. Witnesses said a man accosted two women and then punched a man before being picked up by a grey sedan. Police pulled over the car a short while later and found Worton in the backseat. He admitted to being involved in an altercation, telling policy he accidentally brushed up against a woman and was trying to leave when confronted by her boyfriend, whom he punched in the face out of self defense.
I looked at our recruiting class for the first time today. We had a rare UCF-Tulsa head to head contest on a prospect, DT Tyarise Stephenson.
Yeah sure thing, ok man Spoiler yeah it looks like it was GOL's staff. Lorenzo something was his contact
Frost said at the thing yesterday that of the 6 commits GOL had, 4 were NGE so they were run off. We only have one recruit left from GOL's staff.
I do find it funny that Iowa State and Syracuse were negative recruiting against us according to Killins.
Ok recruiting gurus, save me the effort of some Juggsian research, who is the best recruit we currently committed? What are the big things to look for on NSD? Anyone we are afraid of losing? Any big potential surprises on the horizon?
