MM definitely has a wreckless playmaking ability. Going to have good and bad moments with it. But man he is infinitely a better fit.
Maryland sucks. That last play was exactly what the def coaches should have been waiting for. Man that loss sucks.
I can't decide how to feel about Milton. I mean that amount of turnovers is inexcusable. Does he have BK commercial guy hands? But we moved the ball finally so that is nice.
I'm torn on this one. Maryland sucks sooooo bad, if a healthy Holman was playing tonight I think we win by 2 scores minimum. I know all the knocks on him, but he wouldn't have fumbled 6 times. On the other hand, I'm all for starting the future early, Milton will be exciting as hell to watch, and our defense is fucking nasty for the first time in a few years. So, it sucks bad to lose such a winnable game against a big name opponent, but I like what I see in our future.
Milton fumbled/backward pass on our 2nd OT possession, so we get no points. Their 2nd string QB runs it in from 24 yards out to win it for them.
the way our offense was playing, a conversion was no sure thing. I'm glad he went for the XP just to give our defense a chance to shut them down, which of course we didn't do, but still.
Frustrating thing was QB draw was virtually the only play you should expect as a DC as a new running QB comes in. They can't risk a pass and even a handoff is risky with no warm up and they looked totally unprepared for it. Especially after how easily their starter ran on us in the first OT.
yep, we bit sooo hard on the ball fakes in the first OT. We really needed to run a spy all night long, especially in the OT though.
If Holman was healthy and starting, we would have lost in regulation, in my opinion. Milton played fine and will clean up the turnovers next game. He is the future and should start every game moving forward.
I just don't think you gain a lot by starting Holman at this point. Stick with Milton and see if he can get better.
Holman couldn't connect with receivers as all against Michigan and only could against SC State when we exhausted their defense. No guarantee he puts up points against Maryland. I too was hoping frost would go for the win after the 1st OT. Put it in our own hands instead of trying to stop their run game, which we couldn't at all in the second half.
Maybe it's watching too much O'Leary ball but Milton holds the ball away from him like I hold a shit filled diaper. He'll fumble for the next 4 years if he doesn't improve that.
That's easy for frost to fix Exactly, Milton has some room for improvement but Holman is already at his ceiling
That's most likely. This offense next year has only 1 noteworthy loss and that's our center. I think even if the argument is there (I don't think it is) that Holman may be better right now, you have to look to the future. You're essentially getting 100% of your 2017 offense time to gel. Side note, I've been really impressed with our DL and all those motherfuckers are back next year too.
